This owner, Michelle, is so unreliable and will waste your time. Insists on in-person consults and only then can you book an appointment for another day. I only have so many days off. When I show up to the studio at the agreed upon time or call to make sure she's there, she isn't. I just wanted a silk press and color, and could've easily texted her pictures of what I want. When I go in person, I'm just going to show her my phone. Look for someone else, because she clearly doesn't need or want the extra business.

Witnessed great work today by all stylists in the salon, during the ninth annual back to school explosion, where free cuts, braids and other styles are done on students for free!!

My son recieved a retwist. When we arrive every one was extremely warm, welcoming and informative. My son, 11 years old, loved his hair after leaving the salon. The 9th annual Back to Explosion was truly a success to see the children leaving with items they need, a full belly and unspoken confidence because they have a new hairdo. Thanks Xpose' for loving the community.

I was looking for a stylist who does short hair. I went to Expose on a Saturday and got an appointment with Michelle for the following Wednesday. Michelle explained how she wanted lots of time with me to explore style options and get to know my style likes and dislikes. I received 3 or 4 text message reminders about my appointment. On the day of my appointment I arrived 10 minutes early. When I walked in Michelle was still working on the previous clients hair and asked me to come back in about an hour. I left and reluctantly came back in an hour and ten minutes (due to heavy traffic) and she was not there. I was told by her staff that she had to make a run and would be back shortly so I waited in my car for another twenty minutes before leaving. As I was pulling up to my home Michelle called me and asked if I was still in the parking lot. I said no I’m at home. She apologized several times for missing me but never offered to reschedule. I feel this first impression and first experience was very unprofessional and hypocritical due to the fact of her stating she really likes to take time with her first time visiting clients. I don’t know if she realizes that she really missed out on someone who would have very possibly become a regular and would have brought at least three other referrals with. She obviously doesn’t have the time or professionalism to take on new clients as she definitely doesn’t respect others time as my entire day was messed up due to her screwing up my appointment. Therefore, I’ve said all of this to say I will NOT be going back nor would I recommend this salon.

I had a wash, trim and 2 strand twist done for my natural hair with Mahogony. I think they will “do” natural hair but they don’t really “care” for natural hair or specialize in doing so.She detangled from the root to ends (as opposed to ends to root) during the washing phase. Usually, detangling is done during the conditioning stage. I could literally hear my hair ripping.She also at one point was combing my hair with a fine tooth comb with no product for slippage. I have coily textured hair so that is not what I have ever been accustomed to. But I knew she would use foam and typically product with the foam doesn’t mesh well. So, I understood that. I just didn’t understand why my hair wasn’t detangled with the conditioner in.She trimmed as she went in rows but didn’t really trim in a way that preserved or added to the “shape” that my hair was already cut in (tapered cut but grown out to chin/shoulder length). She literally just trimmed it but now I’ll have to find another place to go to for shaping because the cut is very uneven and lacks shape. Typically, when I have my hair trimmed, they trim in rows and then go back to ensure there is a nice shape to the trim they did.The two stars are because everyone was kind and the place was very welcoming. I heard the owner complimenting some women and I could tell that her heart was to really serve them and boost their confidence, etc. Mahogany’s service was REALLY quick. And the twists were VERY neat, pretty, and uniform. I can tell that this may be a specialty of hers. In her suite, I saw signs about locs, etc. so I think she would do a phenomenal job if you have locs. Give them a try for things you see on their social accounts (braids, short natural hair that you wear straight, permed hair and coloring, for instance). Pricing is fair, in my opinion.
