The staff here are some of the rudest I've ever met in a hospital. I would rather go to Rockledge Regional at this point.

It's hit or miss with the staff. I'm in this hospital right now and have been forgot about on 3 different occasions now. This last time I really had to use the restroom and I tried to catch my nurse while in the room and she said she'd be back. An hour later and after I've already got myself up then she comes in with an attitude like I'm bugging her. Last night I had a bandage come open and had to sit in one position for 45 minutes waiting for them to come wrap it back up. Most of the staff are nice, but some of these people don't belong here.

My husband had to have a CT scan at Cape Canaveral Hospital today. I was extremely impressed with experience. Every person was friendly, polite, respectful and professional! Something I have not seen in a long time in any other medical setting.... I forgot to mention KIND!!!!

We went to this hospital for a head injury tonight. The person that sustained a head injury was bleeding and soaked in blood. The female nurses or whatever didn't even offer to look at the head wound or clean it. We had to had to clean the injured person's ourselves with towels and sink water. We eventually left after paying at $150.00 co pay for nothing. See the attached pictures. BEWARE. WARNING. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL

After spending a week at Cape Canaveral Hospital, my view of my normal care at the VA has changed dramatically! Evidently Health First is going through severe growing pains, trying to figure out how to process higher volumes of patitients for profit! It was horrible. Communication between employees was horrible, food was awful, etc etc but I do give it one star because I did find that there were some really awesome nurses who truly cared and were very pleasant to deal with. Without going into tremendous detail about my stay, let me just get to the end. Three times they said I was going home that day and processed my discharge, but I never went home because they had one test that had gotten lost in the system, so no one performed it which held me up for four days. The multiple discharges created unbelievable chaos and misinformation to the VA for follow up. And to top it off, when they finally discharged me after complying with them for four extra unnecessary days, they marked my paperwork as AMA against medical advice, which creates a nightmare with insurance, va, etc. They reasons for being admitted changed with every discharge they processed, and followups changed, creating another nightmare afterwards. Trying to get someone to return a call after leaving to clean up some of the mess, is worse than the VA which I didn't think was possible. All I Can figure out is they are trying to figure out how to handle higher volumes of people and it is not working. It is truly the biggest cluster---- I have ever encountered and I would avoid them at all cost in the future!

The unprofessional nurse and doctor who were mocking and made fun of me PUBLICLY AT THE CHARGE STATION both don't deserve their careers. I made formal reports and I'm not going to rest until I know I was heard. Nurse ally and Social worker showanda* were amazing I wish their coworkers could take after them.

This review is for the doctor I saw in the ER, not the hospital. My surgery one day prior to the visit was wonderful and I could not saw anything but positive about the hospital staff. Dr. Michael McGoohan needs to take a lesson or two from the other staff members. He laughed at the reason I was sent back to the ER by my home health nurse. His exact words were that he wasn't at all concerned with my 230 blood pressure and that it was due to me not taking my pain pill when it was time. I had been instructed not to take it while being sent to the ER because it was time then. He told us that he was going to add an additional medicine and give me one to see what it would do and when I get home take the other one that I was already taking. Next thing we had a nurse come in and say we were okay to leave. I questioned about him saying he was going to give me the pain pill and the other blood pressure medicine and she said no he had written a prescription for it and we were to get it on the way home. We never saw him again. I did have to laugh at the wording on my medicare bill......ER visit with low level of medical decision. How appropriate. I know we don't get to pick our doctors at the ER but I sure would never pick this one at any time that I did have that decision to make. No one wants to be sent to the ER when they are trying to recover from cervical spine surgery but to get treated insignificant makes it that much worse.

This review is primarily about the Kitchen for Patients at Cape Canaveral Hospital, not the Cafeteria for visitors, where I am staying at on the 4th Floor after minor surgery and now recovering from that surgery at least until the end of May 2023. I will provide a separate review on the Medical Care I am receiving here after my discharge. In one word, WOW!! The kitchen makes fantastic, tasty food that is both nutritious and also not full of junk food items that are not good for your health. There is plenty of servings of fruit and vegetables available, like steamed Broccoli, steamed Green Beans, Fruit Cups, whole Oranges, and Bananas. If you are a person that tries to avoid meat like myself, they have great options like the Beyond Plant Based Burger, and also meatless sausage patties, and also the Pasta items like Lasagna and Stuffed Shells have no meat as well. The Salads are EXCELLENT! Not mostly lettuce and only a few other vegetables, the lettuce is at a minimum and there is plenty of Cucumbers, Onions, Olives, Beans, and other salad items in a good abundance. Also, for those watching their sugar intake, they provide Pancakes or French Toast with sugar free syrup, and also provide sugar free Ginger Ale soda as well. If your doctor has a specific diet that they want you to follow, the kitchen does a great job making sure they do not violate your doctors orders for your meals. A great Hospital Kitchen, definitely worth five stars!! The employees that bring your meals to your room are very polite, and quickly deliver your meals without wasting time and delaying the meals for others.

What a great hospital and staff. Whether I'm going for lab work, x-rays, ultrasounds etc. Everyone is so friendly and kind. I'm never stressed when I walk in. I know I'm in good hands. A special thank you to Lindsay who did my x-rays today. My husband said the ER has a great staff also.

Worst experience as a mom with my injured son that I have ever experienced. Our check in and X-ray process and staff involved was excellent and seemingly compassionate to our situation. The ER Dr. never even introduced himself to me or my son. My son was left in the hallway in obvious pain from a lacrosse game injury. Dr. George Walker spent 5 seconds with my son then told us we were being discharged that we needed to go to our doctor. My son was never offered ice, or anything for pain while sitting in this hallway. His discharge instructions were inefficient only saying we were going to get crutches to go home. Having never met him and him not even introducing himself I asked questions regarding my son‘s care. The most important being he’s in a lot of pain are you even sending him home with anything for pain? Confusingly I still don’t understand why the doctor completely ignored me. I asked again in front of several nurses at the nurses station and he again ignored me. His next step was to blurt out “call security” because I was getting frustrated when he would not answer answer my obvious question. Our discharge instructions were nonexistent. We were never told to ice to heat or do anything. Just told to leave and go see our doctor. No discharge instructions even written on our paperwork. We felt like dogs at the pound. My son is twice my size and was never even given instructions on how to use the crutches for safety. They were just handed to him. I was taking him home alone and he was in a lot of pain with zero instructions or compassion by this man. I only know his name from reading our hospital paperwork. We went to urgent care the next morning, sent directly to MRI and likely surgery no thanks to Healthfirst Cape Canaveral.

My wife entered the emergency room with her right leg, broken in three places, and they basically told her She needed surgery and then they put a splint temp cast of her entire leg and sent her home with crutches. If the right broken leg was completely fine, her left ankle and foot probably would've been in a boot, but they sent her home with crutches to try and get around on a foot that she couldn't even put pressure on. They told her she needed surgery and then said that they could not perform the surgery and gave her a doctor and number to call and sent her on her way. They obviously didn't even check her out with a examination because she had massive bruising to her navel area and upper leg and made no mention of it. Very disappointing way of caring for someone going through a traumatic experience.

My husband was there for a week as they worked to treat his issues without surgery which we highly favored. All staff (including ER staff) from doctors, nurses, nutritionists, CNAs and cleaning/hospitality were wonderful, attentive, professional and personable. The views from this hospital are above and beyond!
