Got locked out of our room on a Sunday at 8pm. Called front desk (posted open until 9pm).
No answer and was forced to get a room for final night. Inexcusable

AVOID THIS HOTEL
The only good thing about this hotel was the location, nothing else. The rooms were very dirty and dated, just as if the hotel was abandoned, the service was good. I also need to highlight that the hotel looks like it’s falling apart, Do not ever come here.

Poor customer service, office close at 9 pm no customer service after hours. I left the room key inside the room accidentally. And I was told that it was my fault and that I have to wait till the next morning 8 am when the office open to get access to my room and my belongings. I was had to rent another room at another hotel so no yo be homeless do the night. I was lucky to have the wallet with me or I would have to sleep in the car.

No customer service at all. After 9:00 pm no front desk until 8:00 am.If you left your key inside the room you sleep by the street. Unbelievable.

Like others say, the motel is dated but has great Florida charm to it.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
Beach access was super awesome, and was less than 5 minutes of walking from the rooms to the waves.
Would definitely stay here again!

Retro dated but clean with that old Florida vibe. Great location, right on beach. They had a platform where we watched the space launch. Had a great stay. Good price.

We spent 4 nights here with our dog. The staff was wonderful. The room/efficiency was exactly what we needed. Access to the beach was great. Nice rinse off area. Room was very clean when we got there. Fantastic area restaurants in the area. We extended our stay twice. Wonderful.

After staying at South Beach Inn, I now understand the polarized reviews. People love it or hate it, there doesn't seem to be an in-between. I now understand, I both love it and hate it myself. Bare with me this is a long review but I want to cover the good, the bad and the ugly.
In the good column is the staff. The lady at the front deck was super nice and very helpful. My house keeper is doing a great job too, the room was very clean. Though I can't imagine their working conditions are very good. The front desk lady seemed to brace herself when I walked in to request a copy of the receipt I lost and seemed relieved when I told her what I needed. She didn't say anything, but by her body language I could tell she was bracing for issues, like she is used to people being upset. The rooms must be a nightmare to clean for the housekeeper. There are random nickknacks on top of the cabinets and small little thing that need to be cleaned. The rooms aren't set up to be easy to clean and the furniture is so beat-up that even though it was clean, it looks shabby.
The general neglect is sad. At first I thought maybe it is just a small mom and pop place and they are doing the best they can. Maybe they don't know they could buy hotel grade furniture at liquidation sales for less then the cheap residential stuff they have in the room that would last longer, be easier to care for and look nicer. Maybe they were struggling and couldn't afford to pay a professional drywaller and had to do terrible looking patches themselves. Maybe they didn't realize the rotten deck was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Maybe they couldn't afford an electrician to properly wire the lights and security system. Maybe they couldn't afford modern door locks and could only afford cheap ones that rusted faster than commercial grade locks. Maybe they couldn't afford to fix whatever the boards and straps are holding up at the end of the balcony. Maybe they didn't realize the hose at the outdoor shower being held together by a hose clamp looked trashy. Despite this I still loved the place, because it was a small, family friendly, dog friendly place with beautiful grounds on the beach at an accessible price for normal people. It was so unlike the big souless corporate branded hotels.
I was in town for work and it was so amazing to sit on the balcony outside my room after work and enjoy the view of the ocean and the cool breeze. The gorgeous sea grapes, plumeria, birds of paradise and the grounds in general made me wish I lived here. I started wondering about the owners, had they owned it for years and just weren't as engaged as they got older? Maybe the origional owner's kids inherited the hotel and just didn't know how to run it. So I googled who owned it out of curiosity. Sadly that's when I discovered who owned it and everything made sense. It's owned by a realestate holding and development company. It seems like they are putting as little money into upkeep as possible to extract as much profit as possible (they even allude to this on their website, see picture). They are probably going to pull as much value as they can out of the property until it is in total disrepair then develope the land. This kinda crushed my idealized thought that this was a small mom and pop place.
At least the big branded hotels respect their costumers enough to invest in repairs and upgrades to ensure guest comfort and secure the future of their asset.
So in conclusion, the good is it's clean, the staff was wonderful, the grounds are gorgeous and I felt completely safe. The bad is, the whole place is in falling into complete disrepair and though there are some signs minor upkept by the staff (Fresh paint in places, drywall patches ect) it's obvious the owners aren't putting in any money to properly care for the property since they bought it. The ugly is, the neglect seems intentional to extract as much profit as possible, if you're only making 50

What a find! Pet friendly motel with a pet friendly beach! Hard to find in Cocoa beach! Loved the vibe and Sherri was great at the front desk! We had perfect rocket launch viewing from both the beach and their viewing deck!
The rooms are old school but clean and come with a full kitchen. Quiet, peaceful, adorable property! Will definitely be back!

The location, on a quiet stretch of Cocoa Beach with direct access to the beach was stunning. The whole set up is perfect for a getaway at the beach. The apartment is on the small side but perfectly adequate for a couple or 3 persons. The bed was comfy and the kitchen and bathroom satisfactory. Outside is a charm. A decked seating platform, a tiki hut and a covered dining area on grass.
The beach is accessed through the dunes and you needn't worry about finding space to sit. And a whole roomful of beach accessories are freely available. Joy.
And if Space is your thing there is an uninterrupted view of the launch site at Cape Canaveral.
Noteworthy details: The outside facilities are excellent and the direct access to the beach is fantastic.
