How are they shut down at night???? It’s an automated gas pump. If I could, I’d give them ZERO stars for closing when people need the pump most.

I do not normally frequent this car wash but decided to pop in a couple of days ago for a quick wash, and I have washed my car here one time previous to this incident. On this particular day, after having stopped my vehicle once the indicator light turned red, I'd put it into neutral and the vehicle started rolling back. I quickly recognized that I needed to move back forward (the indicator light had turned green once more), so I did so and put the vehicle in park once the light turned red again. The car wash commenced and began adding soap to my vehicle. As the machine moved to the back of my vehicle, I all of a sudden heard and felt a loud grinding and I knew something was not right. I put my vehicle into Drive and exited the wash as I felt that my vehicle was being damaged.
Once I exited, I noticed that one of my tail lights was broken and the other was scratched. I went inside to advise the employees and was asked to fill out a report, which I did. In doing so, the employee taking my report mentioned that since my car rolled back and reset, it threw the calibration of the machine off and talked about how much they disliked the wash because of incidents such as this. The manager was not there over the weekend and I was told I would get a call the next day.
The following morning, I went into the gas station to speak with the manager who then told me that another manager would be giving me a call either later that day or the next day. The following afternoon, I went back to the station as I had not received any communication, at which time two employees advised me that this has happened "many times" and I would definitely be getting a call back before the end of the week.
I was finally called by the District Manager, Nazarena Rosales, and it was the most condescending call that I have ever had with someone in such a position. I am a Manager myself and I would never be as insulting as she was to me. She insisted that I was not on the "plate on the floor", that my vehicle was too far forward and thus, the damage was my fault. First, a plate on the floor is not my guide, the lights are my guide. Green = go, red = stop. My vehicle went in, rolled back from its initial position when it was first stopped when the indicator light was RED, so I moved back up when the light turned green and again stopped once it turned red. Nazarena said they are not covering any damage to my vehicle.
To add insult to injury, because my wash was not complete as I had to remove my vehicle from the wash right after it was soaped, I asked for the wash to be refunded ($12). She said to me, "Why would I refund you if you left before the wash was complete?" Having that question asked, as if the proper thing for me to have done was to continue to let the machine damage my car so that the wash was completed, was absolutely ludicrous. I have never heard anything so absurd. It was beyond insulting, and the fact that a District Manager would make such a remark is beyond me.
The car wash at this station has so many poor reviews for a reason. The fact that the employees even shared that this has happened many times speaks volumes.
Taking no responsibility but rather, being accusatory and condescending is the poorest level of management and service.
Do yourself a favor and find a better place to wash your car because at this Shell station, the machines will fail you, as will the people.

I paid $12 for The works car wash they should change the name to the worst car wash. The left side of my car was barely touched I was in and out so quick that I went through a second and third time it was ridiculous that I got charged for something like that. My car didn't come out looking don't use this.

Absolute worst car wash I’ve ever used. The machine where you enter your code has missing buttons, which probably should have been my first clue. There was no final rinse, so my car had a thick coat of soap on it when I left. Waste of money.

I like this gas station. It's easy to get into, there are enough pumps that there's never any lines, and it's clean. It also helps that this is probably the lowest priced Shell fuel in the immediate area! The pumps generally have receipt paper in them as well (one of my HUGE pet peeves is paying at the pump only to have to go inside for my receipt since the pumps are out of paper). Also, the convenience store is usually well stocked, and has friendly employees. Overall, this is a great station, and it's the one that I prefer in the Coconut Creek area.
