My father passed away and I went to the agency in Quito to close the account four weeks ago. I was told the bank's legal department needed to confirm that the documents I had (Effective Possession) were legitimate and correct. I was told it would take two to three days for the legal department to authorize the process. It has been FOUR WEEKS and I haven't heard anything from the bank and in the mean time the bank is charging $40 a month in service fees. The bank has a terrible customer service and I definitely don't recommend it to anyone.
