I parked in the lot and went to the corner where I had a haircut appointment while running late I placed on online order for a sub. When I come back after 38 minutes to pick up my sub my truck was no where to be found. They TOWED MY TRUCK AFTER SHOPPING. Sign clearly states PRIVATE PROPERTY PARKING FOR PATRONS WHILE DOING BUSINESS. So if I shop online am I not doing business? This is absurd I’m a 20 year old that works 5 jobs and goes to school at night. I hope they feel happy getting their $20 referral fee for towing a struggling college kids truck. Come to Publix where shopping is NOT a pleasure. Spoke to the store manager and he proceeded to tell me “that is not my problem” and the lady behind the customer service counter shrugged her shoulders. I will NEVER come back here after that.

It's only lunch time, a few express checkouts...and remember, if you're not going to get in, don't park in the Publix parking lot, they will tow your car...you're welcome...!

As great as this Publix is , it needs to get with the times . The lack of self service checkout is not comprehensible. Saturday morning, all 5 cashiers backed up at least 3 people each . Easily fixed with self checkout.

⭐ Concern About Predatory Towing Practices
I recently visited the Publix at 2551 S Le Jeune Rd, Coral Gables, FL, and had an unfortunate experience. I parked in the lot intending to shop, briefly stepped away, and then returned to complete my shopping. Despite this, my car was towed by Whitt’s Tow Away, Inc., and I was charged $145 to retrieve it.
I understand parking policies need to be enforced, but the towing practice here feels excessively aggressive, especially for legitimate customers like myself who were using the lot as intended. Publix employees even mentioned that individuals monitor the parking lot and call for towing as soon as someone steps away from their vehicle.
As a loyal Publix customer, I urge management to review this policy and ensure that customers are not unfairly penalized. This experience added unnecessary stress to what should have been a simple shopping trip.

Never going to this Publix again. I went inside for 5 minutes to grab groceries and they towed my car. Customer service did not care and was not helpful.
