They are full of s*** they don't like to pay you back your money if you put gas inside there car and there cars gas cards aren't working I had so many problems with that I'm having problems with that now about paying me back my money for putting gas inside the car I don't recommend nobody to rent any vehicles from them they suck

I am in West Palm Beach Florida and wanted to use zipcar. Their website does not allow you to see where cars are parked unless you are a member. I called zipcar to ask if cars are near me and waited on hold for 45 minutes, so I decided to hang up and sign up - hoping that there would be a car nearby. Keep this in mind - if you have a problem and want to talk to someone at zipcar - they do not prioritize having someone available to talk to you. I signed up and paid $25.00 to join. I then found out that there are no cars near me. There are only cars in Miami. I immediately tried to cancel my membership. There is no way to do that on their website. You need to email them. I called them and sat on hold again for at least 40 minutes and decided to hang up. I did email them what had happened and was told "we don't refund the application fee". It is not fair that I should have to pay them to find out that they do not have cars in the area that I need one in. If you see zipcar cars located near you at least you will know that they have them. But, if you have any problem at all that you need help with - you will not be able to reach someone and get that help. Do yourself a favor and find another way to get to where you're going.

Awful. Do not waste your money. There are limited cars and almost all the times are blocked off. Better off renting a car at the airport.

Worse car sharing company, do not waste your money! Cars are damage, dirty, with flat tires, crashed from previous rental but still on location available for pickup and you won't find out until you arrive to get the vehicle. All this happened multiple times.

This company is difficult to cancel your account even when you do not use their service. They ask you to verify information that is not available in order to create a barrier to cancelling.

This was my first experience with Zip Car. Getting on-line to join was difficult. I don't think your website is intuitive. ( I have many years of tech experience). That aside I continued to give it a go :-) I had booked this car about 2-3 weeks out and I needed it for a wedding. 1. I arrived and the car was where it should be. 2. The car was white but VERY dirty/ grimy. 3. I didn't possess a card because I hadn't been sent one - this is being dealt with I am assured 4. Not having a card, I tried using my Zip car app to unlock the vehicle. It wouldn't work :-( 5. I called into Zip Car and the young man told me that he was not allowed to unlock the vehicle...arrghh. I was specifically told that this would happen. 6. After more minutes of frustration rebooting phones etc - I tried using the app again. No luck! 7. I called in again and this time the young lady - who was excellent given my clear anger - tried to unlock the vehicle. NO LUCK AGAIN! 8. She confirmed that there was no signal to the vehicle and therefore I had to get another car. 9. This resulted in me paying a cab £20 to get me to another vehicle - of course I am carrying my baggage for the wedding too. 10. The lady at Zip Car stayed on the phone with me until we arrived at the next car. 11. White A3 - My app could not unlock the vehicle...aarrggh. 12. The lady then remotely unlocked the vehicle. 13. I registered the current damage to the vehicle and took pictures and then noted that the car was a) dirty/grimy b) had trash inside the car - gum wrappers, empty water bottles, and general use grim. 14. Car had 3/4 tank of fuel which was fine. 15. I was finally on my way - £20 lighter AND now 1 HOUR late. 16. I arrived at the wedding ceremony late. 17. Car return: Got to the spot and my app could not now LOCK the vehicle! 18. Spent 15 minutes on Sunday night standing outside the vehicle with my baggage waiting for someone to pick up. 19. Finally the phone was answered and the car was remotely locked. 20. Next day - I was emailed stating that I was charged a late fee for returning the car late. I returned the car 2.5 hours before it was due. 21. The car late fee was related to the FIRST car that could not be used. 22. Spent 20 minutes on the phone getting that sorted out. 23. next step is to check my Zip Car account and bank account, to ensure I am not double charged. Another stressful waste of time. NONE of this happens with Hertz and Avis and they are cheaper. You figure it out.

This is the WORST car sharing company. Overbilling and billing mistakes on their end that never get reversed and every time you speak to billing the answer is the same "we have no ability to call interdept and email is being sent. Turn around should be 24-48hrs" - the emails disappear into space and 3 weeks later my account is being charged $400 for their "system" errors in billing. Car conditions are HORRIBLE. The car broke down on me and Oil changes and A/C and brakes were reported and never fixed yet cars remain in fleet as active. Safety and financial issues 100% horrible.

My parents are coming to visit me in south beach in 1 week. I've been trying to download the App to reserve a car for us since I don't have time to wait for a keycard to be mailed to me. I tried to become a member on March 1st and everyday since for the past 7 days but I keep getting an error message when my application tries to upload. I've called zipcar everyday, 7 times now, and they have no help for me or no other options for me to become a member. I think this is an awful business model. I'm just trying to give you my money and you can't help me?!?

Horrible experience!! Please do not use them! Somebody hit the car I was driving, I reported it immediately and have every intention to pay for the deductible, but after a year of the accident I am still fighting with them because they are accusing me of damages that I never did! They don't even call me back to resolve the situation. They keep telling me to wait for somebody to contact me but nobody does and in the meantime they already sent my account to a recollection agency, even with the wrong amount!!! This is a nightmare and the only thing I am asking is to talk with somebody who can really follow through my case!! I would give zero stars if I could.

Customer service tries really hard to please you but their cars are stinky, drivers don't deliver on time, promotional links never works, they overcharge to then return your money...it's a terrible experience overall.

Not the best customer service when you call the 1800 number but I was able to resolve my driving credit issue through the company's local market manager, who was polite and understanding. Great selection of cars and very convinient locations throughout. Zipcar and Car2go nicely compliment each other. Zipcar is perfect for more than an hour especially If your returning to the same location. They also have a wide array of vehicle options including luxury brands. Car2go on the other hand only have smartcars but they are perfect for under an hour and you may leave them at other locations. I sold my second car recently so its good to have Zipcar close by as an option when I get bored of driving mine.

I have nothing but praise for zip car. I use them at least once a week they are very attentive to all my needs. Great selection of cars, my favorite Audi Q5.
