I started off using H&R Block when I was younger and paid ridiculously high fees to get my return e-filed and “ instant” loan. However, the banks would never cash their check without holding it for a week or more. so as I got older, I moved to TurboTax and saved so much money and fees and always got my return quicker then H&R Block. I just TurboTax for years and was very satisfied.
This year I needed help beyond what the services of TurboTax could provide me so I scheduled an appointment with my local H&R Block in Crestview. And boy was that a mistake.
Associate was unprepared, inaccurate, and late for the second appointment. I have ended up calling the IRS for an extension to get time to hire a better tax professional.
Lesson in this was, H&R Block still isn’t worth the time or money.

Absolutely disgusted with this office and H&R Block as a whole. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Charged my husband and I $900 to file, because of the amount of forms we had? We submitted all of our forms over a week before our appointment. They should give their customers a minimum quote before service, because what are we to do after our taxes are filed and they charge us? Most people do not have $900 to just throw around casually, especially on TAXES. Utilize turbo tax and their online CPA services or another business. NOT H&R Block. They are CROOKS.

My wife and I are both military and have used H&R Block in both Washington St and California before this year. This office is not representing the reputation of what we know H&R Block to be. Checked in for a 10 AM appointment and no one greeted us or acknowledged us at all. We sat for 45 minutes assuming they were busy with other clients. Finally, we asked the question and the front desk simply told us we would be helped shortly, after which she talked to several members who were working with no customers. To top it all off, our tax preparer explained that even though this location can prepare forms, it is not a corporate office therefore our return would cost north of $600. This whole experience has absolutely soured us to H&R Block and I highly recommend others to not visit this office if you want affordable and prompt service.

Having no TAX confidence anymore, we choose to use H&R Block! It's expensive, but having peace of mind, is better than worrying about an audit from the IRS!

Great place employees are kind, the only thing is if you have investments and or more things than just a w-2 or a few other things expect a decent bill at the end. But my return came pretty quick.

I had them prepare an out of state return and it came back over $800 less than what they told me it would be. I called the office to get some more information I was told “we’ll call you back” never heard them ? they charge over $400 to do your taxes poorly and incorrectly.
