The rooms are dated and have evidence of water staining but it was quiet enough for a good night of sleep. I had a corner room and had to close all blinds completely to block out the security lights around the marina and property. When I arrived, I wanted over a half hour for some to come into the office to check me in and provide a key.The location is great. I had dinner in the on-property restaurant with great food and watching sunset over the water.

This place doesn’t look the best on the outside. The inside is-so so. Has been recently updated. The breakfast isn’t really a breakfast (muffins and a few other things). The floors were not clean (everything else was clean)… BUT the view is beautiful!! It kinda makes you forget the bad when on the balcony right on the river.

If you read no further, this is old and neglected.Other than location and nice enough staff, there is nothing redeemable about this hotel. As far as room, upkeep or amenities, a comparable hotel would be a red roof inn or roadway inn with about a 2.5 customer rating. The first room the toilet was not bolted and leaked all over the bathroom. The second room had just been smoked in and after we went to the third room the front desk had gone by to open the doors to air it out for the next unsuspecting customer. They will say we are 100% non smoking and no one smokes in our rooms. It's not true because they attract nasty smokers and smoker's will always smoke where they are not supposed to.Thread bare sheets and bead spreads, the kind you would expect at the Bates motel. Neutrogena soaps. Poor plumbing fixtures. Old furniture. Not a clean smell anywhere in the hotel. Cheapest TVs you could buy directly from China where the sound is so bad you can't understand the audio or words. No toilet roll holder. Bright lights right outside your door attracting thousands of bugs which go right in your room at night. AC can't keep up with Florida heat above 90 or when cooler at night. They still use keys and not secure keys but the kind you can make at a key machine. Fridge with a thick crust of ice in undefrosted freezer. Ice machine requires quite a walk to the other side of the restaurant. Just miss the poor excuse for a breakfast and go to breakfast Station. The front desk excuse is "we have been here for a long time." Yes nothing but cheap patches to the property, everything else been there since the 1970s and rode hard. Things seem clean and the cleaning lady from Venezuela does a good job with what she has.All hotels in this area are bad, but this is near the bottom. Consider Best Western or Hampton but plantation is not much better than here.Take it or leave it attitude here and the hotel may have had only 2 to 4 rooms occupied while I was there. They don't seem to care or get how bad this place has become.I never asked for a $10 discount for the first days trouble. No accommodations for no room service even with the please clean room sign on door from 5:30 am.Nearby activities: We saw manatees swimming right from our room. The place is on the water. Short drive to anywhere. They have a marina with tours but hard to find and figure out who runs....Food & drinks: Restaurant and bar on site. Restaurant with the disgusting policy of adding 3% to pay with credit card service fried bar food with live music. After getting the 3% charge we just went elsewhere for our stay.

We came to this hotel in 2020 for vacation and ended up moving here in less than a year! We stayed in building B on the second floor, and loved it! We stayed in B17 every time we visited, three times total, and the last time was for the closing of our home in Crystal River. I would give it 5 stars if they didn't destroy the swimming pool and the third building. The location is awesome and there's a really nice restaurant, very expensive though. They also have a launch and a kayak rental.Rooms: Very spacious, but a little outdatedNearby activities: Kayaking, snorkeling, biking

Got the Elvis room, amazing view. We saw live manatees breaching and playing, returaunt is good and bar is a walk away.

We walked around the marina a little. Ate at the waterfront social club. Food was cooked just the way we asked. Service was great. We will be returning.

This is an old building…cinderblock walls, 2 stories…BUT right on the water. When I called to book I asked about the ‘reduced rates’ was told they were to be taken over and redone by Marriot…but that it hadn’t happened yet.Front desk staff nice, but no communication between them and the restaurant. We went for supper to find them closing early…because ‘they’d been busier than ever, staff needed a break so they’d come back the next day…and it’s just so hard to get and keep staff.’ I get that…but if you have no customers…you won’t need to worry. Anyhow..drove back into town and found and other place to have dinner.Back to the room; door hard to unlock/open, terrible bed, noise a/c, noisy neighbours…BUTSunset when we arrived was nice even better…the misty foggy morning on the water…right out in front of the room.Walked out to stand on the concrete retaining wall…watched the birds AND>>?>The Manatees!! That alone..totally worth the $.

We loved the place. Old Florida motel without the frills, but a beautiful view. The room was clean, bed was pretty comfy and the folks at the front desk were absolutely wonderful! The only complaints were that we had to go to the front office for the coffee maker and guys working there left a truck hauling in a boat at the boat ramp so that we couldn't launch our kayaks. I am looking forward to returning soon.

Just like the reviews I read, the outside was old and the stairs were a little scary going to the second floor, but the inside was very clean. Ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and nice. View from our balcony was worth it all! Spectacular!

I would stay here again. It's old, not luxury, but it's clean and the view and location to the marina for boat, kayak, and manatee excursions is perfect. The connected restaurant has the best blackened grouper I've had since I lived in Louisiana.

No frill motel. Rooms are older and need updating but the experience is worth it. Restaurant next door is good and being on the water is a perk. Would stay again.

PROS-friendly knowledgeable front desk staff. Very nice view of the lake and good water pressure.CONS-It was dirty and smelly. Dryer sheets, hidden in furniture disguise the smell. furniture, broken and rusty. Mattress is so bad probably should’ve slept in the car. linen. So old you could see through them. But not as thin as the walls in the ceiling. If I could find a way to post, the pictures we took, I would.

We knew it like was an old run down historic hotel by the reviews when we booked it. Yes the rooms are old & in desperate need of some TLC, but it was very clean to say the least. Every room is a water view room with fantastic sunset views. There's a restaurant & tiki bar steps from the room & a marina on site. We stayed here for the location & convenience of everything, the help were very kind & pleasant & our dog was welcomed. We will be & with our boat the next trip, we enjoyed NYE weekend there & ty!
