The guys working are always helpful but the lady who owns this location treats customers horribly. Today for the second time she refused to test mine and several other customers’ water even though we arrived 30 min before store closing time.

I have been using Pinch a Penny for some time at the Homestead, FL location and the staff has always been superb.Recently for some stupid reason I began using this location in Cutler Bay, FL probably because it is a few minutes closer. Customer service was nothing out of this world but it was closer I guess.Today I arrived 10 minutes prior to closing time after killing myself to make it there to be kicked out in a nice way with a fake smile by a woman who appears to run the store. Don't know her name but she had a marking on her face. Maybe a pimple or a wart or something on her forehead. It was too fast and I got frustrated real quick after her telling me that they close water testing 15 minutes before closing time which is not stated anywhere. No customer service whatsoever. No inquiry about my situation or if I needed something besides the water testing, nothing but a fake smile. I was in fact needing to buy a new vacuum for my pool besides the water test so I had to buy it on Amazon & wait another 2 days for delivery.I will never return to this location again.

Very unhappy with the old lady who felt the need to discriminate and assume things about people. Customer service 0/10 perhaps get better staff who aren't in people's business or at least who are nice to others

The lady owner very rude. She literally took the product from my hands and told me to have a nice, just because she told me "A child door alarm" did not have warranty, so I asked if they had a battery to test it before I left the store, and that's whe she got fuming and took the alarm from me turn around and told me to have a nice day. I've been a customer for a long time, dealt with her husband, a very nice gentleman. I have no idea why she is so bitter. Lost a good steady customer, never again.

Okay, so this is my first time using pinch a penny, and I must say so far this site has some of the most unprofessional and snarky employees. I came in to fix my dad's pool, it was green, and I mean green. Brought in to test the water, the guy who tested gave me a list of things to buy with a print out of instructions. All good right? Well, I followed the instructions the guy gave me walked me through the process. So I go home and we follow the instructions to a T. End of the night pool is looking blue, as it should. We wake up to a very dark green pool. Confused I take more water back and ask to retest, see if I had done something wrong. The lady there refuses to go run the test. Very rudely refuses to run the test. After her snapping at us for a few minutes, another guy takes the water and runs a phosphate and nitrate test. Phosphates are in the 300, nitrates are fine. Told me which chemical to buy. I ask why I wasn't told about it the previous visit, the guy said the previous test probably didn't run the phosphate tests. Expressed that I felt it was in poor practice to not run all tests the first time around. Asked about instructions on using the phosphate remover, the employee was rather hesitant and unconfident in giving us instruction. After leaving. I, feeling a little weary about the advice provided reached out to another company. They ran the test and turns out the chemicals I had previously added YESTERDAY we're non existent. The phosphates ate all the chemical which in turn is why the pool so quickly reverted back to it's green state. I will NEVER use pinch a penny at any of it's locations EVER again. Photos are of the pool before and after treatment from pinch a penny... Update, called as the review reply requested just to speak to THE SAME WOMAN WHO WAS BLATANTLY RUDE AND REFUSED TO TEST OUR WATER.

They are selling chlorine that is not working. I had put 2 bottles of their chlorine on my pool at a time and testing the water a few hours later and showing 0 chlorine on my test. This is the procedure that I always do and it always shows chlorine after a few hours of putting it. It is the first time I buy chlorine at this store and it was the last one for sure. Its expensive and doesn’t work. When I called the store to explain the situation the lady hung up on me. I was trying to explain that I had used all 8 tanks of chlorine, and none of the time the test showed any results. Of course, I did not used them all at once. She was trying to make me think that because I put too much that is why it did not show on the results. I guess she thinks we customers are d****

To the Public of This area! (DO NOT VISIT THIS STORE!) The older Grey Haired Lady with Glasses is RUDE to Customers and the Store is Price Gauging! I asked the young man who was attending the floor if they had a product I needed that is safe for a Saltwater Pool. The young man wasn't to sure what to offer and this lady runs out onto the floor and rudely tells me that the item in question is not made for Saltwater Pools. Hence the Reason I asked if it was SAFE, key word Safe! She then tells me that I'm rude and that I should leave the store and buy somewhere else! But before I leave I check the price of an Item that I could of used and they wanted $122.00. The same item on Amazon or Home Depot was $75.00 I don't know if she was the owner or manager but she has no Customer Service Skills and this store location which is way back in a bad location hidden from the main street, they are trying to rip customers off by gauging prices sky high to make-up for business they are not getting. I recommend going to Home Depot or buying from Amazon, but never this place!
