I would not recommend the CubeSmart location in Davenport. Money is not an issue for me, which is exactly why I keep a credit card on file—to avoid late payments and unnecessary problems.
For whatever reason, the card did not process. Instead of contacting me immediately to resolve it, CubeSmart waited until after the due date and then reached out—conveniently only once a late fee had already been added. That is extremely unprofessional and feels more like a tactic than customer service.
That said, I do want to be fair: the young lady at the front desk who contacted me handled the situation well and did a great job processing my payment once I was reached. My issue is not with her. This appears to be more of a breakdown with management or the sales/administrative process rather than the front-desk staff.
If a customer has a card on file, they should be notified immediately if there is a payment issue—not days later when fees can be charged. Poor communication, poor policies, and a disappointing experience overall.
I would not store anything of value here again and would advise others to look elsewhere.
