Accolades to the Glades! Where do I begin? My mom, Judy, has lived at the Glades for almost 2 years. She has a better social life than I do. Adriana and Shakira always plan activities to keep her busy. She especially loves BINGO! If she needs to go to Publix or a doctor's appt, Donnie is there to take her since she no longer drives. The maintenance staff, led by Jonathan, is wonderful and prompt at responding to resident's needs. No task is too small. She is always raving about the food. Annie keeps the servers on their toes. There is also weekly housekeeping. She doesn't have to worry about mopping floors any more. The Glades, run by Executive Director Heather, is a wonderful place where I can feel secure knowing that my mom can enjoy her independence. Keep up the great work!

Extremely sketchy area. My friend and I had our phones stolen in Orlando near Tinker Field and the next day they were here. Would not recommend this for anyone.

My mom has been at The Glades since 2020. My mom has gone from independent to assisted living. The transition was smoothly. She has received very good care. She recently had a hospital and rehab stay and when she returned to The Glades the care has been outstandingIf you are looking for a place for yourself or a love one I highly recommend The Glades.

Still not happy with the team that is leading memory care unit at The Glades. This organization lacks communication with family members and has shown to make little effort to help these memory challenged resident enjoy basic levels of individuality and engagement.

My ninety-eight mother is a resident at The Glades. She is very happy with the staff, the food, the activities and all the amenities.I have been very pleased with the management staff. They are very approachable and ready to assist in any manner. We are kept well informed of happenings in the community. The facility is always clean and bright with pleasant decor. The residence are very friendly. We have gotten to know many of them personally. We definitely would recommend The Glades to anyone seeking residency in independent living, assistant living or memory care.

My mom moves in tomorrow. Caron, the sales and marketing person that gave us the tour was so nice, friendly, and transparent about everything. She really showed a personal interest in my mom and showed her the best room for her that fits her budget. The facility is very clean and the residents seem very friendly and happy with lots of activities to keep everyone busy. One of the most impressive elements of The Glades is when someone moves out they replace the rugs and floors and repaint everything. If feels like a brand new apartment. I'm hoping that her experience living here will be just as great as the tour we had with Caron. She is awesome!!!

While my mother has enjoyed living here, we were just informed that her monthly care will be more than doubling in cost due to the new Watermark ownership. She is not receiving any additional care but she is going from $800/month to over $1700/mo for the same care! This is on top of her rent! It is sad that so many elderly citizens have so few good options at this time of her life. It is very stressful and sad to have to move an 87 year old woman for this reason. They called and tried to "meet me half way" (their words) and give her 6 months at $1200/ month only to raise it to $1700 at that point if her level of care didn't go down. She's 87!! She's only going to get so mobile at this point of her life.Thank goodness there is another Merrill Gardens facility (the previous owners of The Glades), not far from here who are more than willing to work with her finances.

Ronald Richard Perron, my father who had just moved in, passed away on October 17, 2022 after he fell in that place. Whatever wasn't right in that place, must be fixed. We can't let another elder die the same way my father did, come on guys.

When the facility was Merrill Gardens it was one of the finest assisted living communities in Florida. Now that new management has taken over, it's not the same place. Everyone who was wonderful has left, for obvious reasons. Heidi, Stacey, Daniel, Iris, and others. The facility itself is only as good as the staff. The manager on-site is cold and unfriendly, does not seem to have the gift necessary for working for and with seniors. TV service is spotty at best, also not good for seniors! The food? That has changed immensely from what it was! Elderly standing in line with walkers to get their food? This should never be!! Many of the immenities that were the draw for choosing Merrill Gardens are gone, like meal availability! When new management comes in, they should do their VERY best to maintain the standard of care that was working! Improvements needed should be timely, and not cause staff to leave, or residents to be stressed out and disappointed with what has happened to the place they once liked living! I am reaching out to corporate with my complaints. I know I speak for several residents. What about the ones who would never complain? This is very sad and disappointing!

Lots of promises given when we took the tour. Everything sounded impressive. Over the last 5 years they've had great staff turnover due to working conditions and vaccine mandates. Many, many many benefits have been eliminated. Mom's health has declined considerably due to constant forced solitary confinement if there is an illness in the building. Mom and other residents are lonely and socially deprived. The facility just came under new ownership. I'm praying things improve. Mom has a friend losing her memory and the staff asked mom to watch over her because THEY are understaffed. Well then, put mom on the payroll!

For the most part, our experience has been positive. There are some things that irritate us and I'm looking forward to these issues being addressed. 1. The 3-to-a-table rule. This is really a ridiculous rule. If it turns out that only three sit at a table, all well and good, but more than once we turned around and went back to our apartment to eat because we couldn't sit together. 2. No salt and pepper shakers on the tables in the small cafes. It's difficult for some of us to open those little paper packets. The same with the catsup and mustard packets. Bring out bottles for the tables. No one is going to steal them! Also put butter packs on the table at lunch and diinner like is done at breakfast. By the time I get butter for my mashed potatoes, they're no longer not enough to melt the butter. 3.Cell phones turned on in the dining areas. I understand that some residents need their phones with them at all times, but they should be on vibrate or at least turned down low. 4. The kitchen running out of staples - no wheat bread or English muffins? And speaking if muffins, bring back the chocolate muffins! 5. Running out of the offered entre at dinner. We come down to dinner fairly early, not because we're hungry but because our choice might not be available if we're later than 4 pm. 6. The cable service, although I understand that's being addressed. Will we get any of the streaming services like Discovery+ or Disney+? This is all I can think of right now. Some positives are the friendliness of the staff. We get a kick out of Amanda teasingly admonishing some of the residents on their breakfast choices: "Really, you want fried eggs with bacon? Don't you think oatmeal and a fruit cup would be better for you? OK, if eggs and bacon are really what you want. At least you''re getting protein." We all know she's teasing, so no offense taken. Emily is a calming presence at mealtimes. Nothing fazes her. Michael at reception is a gem. Willing to do anything to help residents, always smiling (at least it looks like he's smiling behind his mask!) I think this survey was a good idea; maybe have one every six months or so to see if issues have been addressed. Also, are the results going to be published (anonymously of course!).

Thanks to Heidi exceptional tour and details of this beautiful and amazing 5 star facility in December. Also, thanks for your immediate actions to help me in the transfer process to place my wife in your Dimemtia care unit. Also, thanks to Cindi, Garden House Director (Dimemtia care unit), for traveling to a Winter Haven assisted living location to evaluate my wife and help me to begin to transfer process to there facility. We transferred my wife on December 17 and the staff in Dimemtia care unit taking care of my wife are outstanding. Thanks to all.

Stacie was beyond helpful in setting up our family tour of this facility. She went above and beyond to ensure my father had a great first visit. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. We toured a 2 bedroom with full kitchen and it felt more like a condo than an assisted Independent living facility. Merrill Gardens at Champions Gate is our only choice for when my Father is finally comfortable with the idea of giving up the responsibilities of caring for a home and concentrating on enjoying his time and being closer to family.

Merrill Gardens is like a 5 star resort for senior citizens needing independent, assisted living or memory care. The food is outstanding with so many daily choices and one can eat anytime from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. casual cafe or restaurant style dining or have food delivered to your apartment. The amenities are amazing...so many choices offered...something for everyone and the focus is on living life well. Merrill Gardens is well staffed and very attentive to any need. I visited 8 different senior citizen campuses and none of them compare to Merrill Gardens even the more expensive ones. Merrill Gardens is close to capacity which speaks for itself. Residents are happy here.
