Reached out to Todd Carone for product info and estimates. Worst experience having to deal with him. Had to follow up on trying to get a quote, he never sent it to me, but said he sent it to whoever was on the account. Once quote was finally received almost 2 weeks later, it was still the wrong material estimated. Extremely rude and unprofessional, especially with his emails, your reply in all caps sealed the deal for finding a better vendor. Found the product I was looking for from another vendor, quote received same day and material ordered at a better price.

I ordered some decorative paneling from this company. I told the co. rep that I could come to their warehouse and get it in person. He said it would be more economical to ship it. The package weighed 72lbs. It arrived heavily damaged, wrapped in corrugated paper, not a cardboard box, no bubble wrap, no corner protectors. Three broken pieces had fallen out of the box during shipment. Another 23 pieces had broken off and were loose in the box. This was shipped less than 300 miles. I called and was told by the same employee to send photos to "Doug". I did and heard nothing. A week later I called and the same employee told me that my replacement ship would leave their warehouse that day and it would be better wrapped. It never arrived. I called and the same employee told me, "I will check on it and call you on Monday". That never happened; he never called. I filed a complaint with the credit card company. Safari Thatch was contacted. Eleven days later, the company rep called and left a message something like, "since you filed a charge back with the credit card company, I guess you don't want a replacement, so I will send in a refund for you if I don't hear from you very soon". Today 10 days later, the credit card company has still not received the refund. Although Safari Thatch has many nice products that I could use in the future, I cannot do business with them again after this experience.

My husband and I wanted a unique focal point around our pool area and viewed several nice options on www.safarithatch.com . We selected a 9 foot african reed thatch umbrella kit. We worked via phone and email with the Global Sales Manager, Todd who was very helpful and responsive answering our questions and sending quotes for several sizes and options initially for this type of umbrella. Todd knew that we wished to get everything shipped and at our property in Naples on a specific Friday so we had some time to install over the weekend. He went the extra mile to make sure that occurred. Assembly of this umbrella was enjoyable and pretty straight forward for us and I would say for most people who enjoy projects. All together, including placing and cementing the pole the first day the total project took us about three or four hours. This newly installed project is being enjoyed daily by us. This gentleman sub contracts and obviously has no control of his employees. I've called numerous times and never get a call back and when I do speak to Todd he says he will reach out to his worker Javier who never answers. I've been waiting over two weeks for a call back and I just gave up and are calling someone else. I can't speak for the work but apparently someone else posted pictures of bad work with mold on the thatching. Don't recommend

This company always tries to go above and beyond. They are very knowledgeable about the exotic materials they carry, and I feel that I can trust in them to give me through advice. Certainly no one else carries what they do!
