If I could put no stars I would. I have customer for as long as the daytona store has been here. I was going to sign up for the credit to put a down payment and pay the rest later. I forgot my ID so I had to pay $1300 cash...no problem. The salesperson must have saw my fiancee's salary -he is a software engineer. He told me the little practice amp I wanted wasnt in stock and then sold me one 3 times the price. The salesman tried to sneak charge over $200 dollars in b.s. insurance. I wanted a hard case the salesman said the guitar came with a soft case, but I just checked the receipt and he charged me for it. I spent nearly $1400 dollars and this is how I get treated? I just found the little practice amp online in atock so i was lied to. Do these guys work off commission? If so then this is a crime. I have spent thousands here...dang! I expected better than this with the prices you charge.

I called the store to ask about an item, and had the most delightful conversation with Heather. She was informative, professional, and overall very pleasant to speak with. Because of her excellent, world class customer service, I was able to find and purchase exactly what I needed. Thank you!

Had a wonderful experience with James, the sales/guitar guy. As a beginner learning how to play and wanting a better guitar then the one I was given, James helped me pick out a very nice Fender MIM Stratocaster, and helped me with all the basics of things that would help me like a guitar stand, picks, a strap, a very nice case to keep my guitar safe when transporting it and some very cool books to help me learn to play better.

I brought in a bass guitar for re-stringing. It took 30 minutes to find a "pricing sheet" to even take on the work (also- it was the store manager whom I dealt with on my first encounter). I was told it would be ready in "5 minutes". I returned an hour or so later and was told it wasn't done. I returned again an hour later and was told it was ready. Upon arrival at my session that afternoon, none of the strings were anywhere near in tune, and the D string wouldn't raise above C before it broke. When I called, I was informed that the technician thought there was something wrong with the D string tuner as he broke 2 strings prior to returning it to me. None of this was brought to my attention when I picked it up. To their credit, I was comped replacement strings, but I was not refunded for the stringing, causing a heated argument with the manager who hung up on me. When I went to put the strings on the same guitar, I noticed that both the D and G strings were mounted backward. Making this worse, they are Sperzel locking tuners which are bulletproof, but apparently not incompetent proof. I have also asked for an email address to discuss this with corporate management, but I have never received a reply from my inquiry. Frankly, based on other reviews and conversations I've had, I'm not surprised. I feel like they didn't care about me or any of the customers in the store as most employees were wandering aimlessly while customers were waiting in line. The lack of communication and concern for a valuable instrument was simply inexcusable. I will never do business with this or any Guitar Center again based on my experience.

Went to buy a new accoustic guitar as haven't played in years and wanted a decent guitar around 500.00. Big selection. Overwhelmed with so many choices. Will return and purchase. A guitar is something you bond with and I want to make sure.

Love everything about this GC. The staff are so cool, chill, and knowledgeable. On the rare occasion, they are not knowledgeable (get this it's my favorite part about them). They don't pretend to be. Strongly recommend.

I went in with an amp that I was trying to sell, but I didn't have the ear to know what kind of condition it was in. I went in and the guys told me it was in condition poor enough that they couldn't take it, but then went and gave me all kinds of advice on how I could still make money out of it, and helped me pick out a new amp. All the service at guitar center that I've had the pleasure of experiencing has been super speedy and super smooth, everyone who works here is just really super duper nice and cool. When I went there, I was specifically talking to DJ, Aaron, and Will, those guys deserve raises for how good of a job they were doing. If I ever need to buy gear in the future, I'm absolutely going to come right here to get it. Any time I have questions about guitar center and call up to answer them, they always pick up right away and are super polite and helpful, this place really is THE place to go to get guitar gear, and the service is top notch. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

I love this place. I can always go there to try out my dream guitar, and the staff is friendly and also knowledgeable. They can also do repair jobs on the guitar I’ve got right now. I thought it over and I’m gonna make my dream guitar a reality soon. Thanks, Guitar Center.

The only thing this guitar center is good for is trying out gear that you can get at another Guitar Center or Sweetwater for cheaper, AND with better customer service. Every single time I've gone in to buy a guitar, I've left without it for one reason or another. This Daytona guitar center has probably lost close to $5000 in sales from me solely from their own unwillingness. One guitar was so poorly set up that there was fret buzz on every string and fret, making it literally unplayable. When I asked if they could have their tech do a quick setup on it, the person there (who claimed to be a manager) said they didn't have one. I ended up ordering online for less than in store and it was playable when I received it.The second strike was when I went to sell something and the salesperson (Alex I believe) gave me a laughable price, and tried justifying it by saying that in "full disclosure/transparency," they mark up every piece of gear by 40% of what they paid when they sell used equipment. He then was willing to give me a bit more for it but it wasn't nearly enough - about $50 more for it than his previous offer, which was still about $600 less than what I could sell it for used by myself, which he tried justifying in the name of convenience. I took my business elsewhere. The third strike was when I went in to buy a used guitar. It was pretty beat up (scratched, knicked, etc), and they had it listed at $1000. The case was worse for wear, too - leather torn and scuffed, etc., but structurally fine. The volume knob was crackling when I rolled it, which is an easy fix, but seeing as how they don't have a tech, I can't leave it with them to fix it. I told them I loved the tone of the guitar but then gave them my concerns. Alex (the same guy from my last bad experience) took the guitar to an amp and proceeded to roll the volume knob up and down (not fully, missing the zone where it crackled) and insisted it was fine, that there was probably just some dust in the pots. When I asked him what would happen if it wasn't just dust, he said I could just get an additional warranty to have it serviced (great joke, no tech here). I eventually got tired of hearing him try to babble out excuses about my concerns and cut to the chase: if there was no discounts in price he was willing to make for the instrument, I'd be on my way. He then tried to convince me that there was no wiggle room and that they run very tight margins. I told him I knew the margins the store runs at because he's fully disclosed them to me, and other guitar centers have been very willing to reduce the price of gear for me in the past, especially on used equipment. He, of course, started rattling off another excuse, so I thanked him, turned around, and walked off. I then bought the same guitar brand new for $100 less without a case.Fun bonus! If you look at the scratch and dent sale section, you can find a practically bisected Martin acoustic that they're charging an eye-watering $1600 for. It fell from the top shelf of their acoustic room after the headstock was smacked out of the sales associate's hand and then launched to the ground. Some expensive firewood!

This is the McDonald's of music stores. Clueless, disinterested sales people who'd rather spend an eternity talking to someone about speaker cables than help customers who wish to make a purchase. Headed over to Total Entertainment. Between my friends and I, we spent $$$$$ on new equipment. The sales staff know their stuff.

I have purchased guitars, amps and a piano from this store over the course of several visits. On one trip I took a guitar to be repaired and the employee who does the repair work wasn’t in the store that day. The guy behind the counter said my issue was really simple. He took a tool out of his pocket, made a quick adjustment and my guitar worked perfectly. One my most recent trip, the store was super busy and crowded. The team of workers were able to take care of us all while Remaining calm and friendly. Aron and Heather treated me like an old friend. Heather even took the time to acknowledge my two year old and make him part of the experience. I would recommend this store to anyone who cares about the personal aspect of buying an instrument or even just stopping in to check out the sweet gear.
