Dr. Mattson is retired and all who used his services should make note. I found Dr. Mattson to be one of the best vets I have had the pleasure of bringing my pets to. Professional with super fair prices he was always busy. Now the bad news. Sadly the clinic has been taken over by a new Dr. who I wish I NEVER went to. Their prices will make you wish you had endless money because trust me you will wish you did going to this new Dr. All I did was get shots for a kitten to the tune of $500. I understand medical services are expensive for humans and our beloved pets. But? Sadly this little kiddy ingested some kind of poison and in my time of grief he charged another $500 to send him to heaven. You have been warned I am telling you do NOT go near this clinic since Dr. Mattson left it is NOT the same. Thomas Sullivan, Astor Florida.

Paul has taken care of our animal babies since we moved to DeLand in the late nineties. We did move to NC for a few years but when we came back to DeLand he continued with their care. He even saved the life of our golden retriever, Gale, when she was very sick. She lived for many more years afterward. Paul has now retired as he deserves. We will miss him tremendously on the professional level but hopefully will continue to see him on Sundays.

Dr mathesons office does whatever they choose without consulting the owner. Since owner is not allowed in because of pandemic, they do whatever they want. They did not inform me that they only carry one type of vaccine, so I would have had the chance to refuse. Like no 3 yr vaccine, no vaccine without leptospirosis. When i told them very small dogs die from that they said they would only get very sick but wouldn't die. And said ,while rolling her eyes, breeders think they know everything. I asked g or next gard and they gave me something similar, but they said it was the same. What they gave is very irritating to their stomach, so they wrote take with food. They did not ask if I wanted a substitute. My bill was $300 for 3 vaccines ( one yr instead of 3 so I have to repeat I one yr) a microchip and the wrong medication. And they would not give me a receipt, so I don't know what cost what. Said they dont use computers, but wouldn't hand write one either. I feel I was taken advantage of. And my pet also has to pay the price. We should have the right to know in advance that they don't provide certain services so we can decide, not them.

Dr. Mattson is amazing! Our dogs have been seeing him for over 5 years and I’m always so touched by how caring and compassionate he is.

I've been taking my pets to Dr. Maddson for a few years now. I drive all the way from DeBary (near Sanford) Fl. which takes me over an hour. But when my pets are sick, I want "old" eyes diagnosing them. Dr. Maddson has seen everything and many times knows, without expensive tests or xrays, what's wrong. When he does need some kind of test, he runs the test right there himself. He really is a gem of a vet.

Dr. Mattson is one of the best Vets in Central Florida! He's been our family vet since the early 80's. Needless to say he's seen many of our pets from puppy, to senior, to end over the years. Very caring and compassionate vet who won't sell you what you don't need. His staff is is family and long time right hand lady Rosemary. We keep telling him he can't retire... ever! Best way to describe his practice...Old school hometown honest!
