Tyler at the front desk was extremely nice and patient. I was really impressed with how calm his demeanor was, even while dealing with aggravated patrons. He tried to cheer everyone up and kept the whole waiting room smiling by cracking lots of jokes. My partner saw a physician there and was happy with their experience. Our wait was only 10 minutes and he felt listened to by the physician. It was an easy experience.

If I could give a zero star, I would. Made an appointment as a new patient and sat in the waiting room for OVER an hour and a half watching everyone come in for their appointments and get called back with 20 minutes meanwhile no one ever called me....is this the normal for all new patients?

Doctors dont care to listen to their patients. Their advice only made my condition(s) worse to the point that it sent me to the ER at least once. I've seen at least three doctors that work there. Nothing but cases of malpractice there.

One star is extremely generous but I don't have a choice as there is no option for a lower rating which would be more appropriate. I was admitted to test for suspected heart problems although I consistently maintained that it was nothing more than sever acid reflux. Over the next 20 hours I was poked, prodded, tested and humiliated every way possible running up a bill of $16,000.00!!! In the process, I had three sever acid reflux incidents which I reported and was completely and utterly ignored. Here I am being evaluated for possible heart problems, I report to the nurse that I am having severe chest pains and the nurse leaves the room and no one returns for over an hour!!! What if I was having a heart attack? I could have been laying on the floor thrashing around and no one would be the wiser since the nurse never reported that I was having chest pain. The level of incompetence I observed was beyond belief. I am going to give one example but there were many more (beyond the nurse abandoning me). A nurse took a gel capsule with time release pellets and opened the capsule, poured the pellets into a cup of water and handed it to me. I did not know what the medication was but I tried to swallow it. The problem is that the pellets sink to the bottom and do not come out. After two glasses of water, I simply wanted that nurse out of my room so I handed the cup back. She didn't even look to see if the medicine had been consumed. The capsule was designed to be ingested whole, not opened and poured into a glass of water. After that I was informed I was informed the doctors wanted to perform one more test before releasing me. The test was scheduled for 8 hours later!!!! After 2 hours I had simply had enough and discharged myself from the hospital hoping I would NEVER again have to go there again. People, if you have to be hospitalized, PLEASE go to Daytona Beach or Orlando. Medicare gives Advent health 2 stars. There a facilities in Daytona and Orlando with 4 and 5 stars. I hope my review helps someone avoid the incompetence I encountered.End of story: after running up such a huge bill and administering every test possible, there was NO finding of heart related problems. The problems were in fact nothing more than sever acid reflux as I had maintained all along. I am now seeing an internist to deal with that problem.

This place is a freaking joke. They messed up my MRI scan so they had to X-ray part of my body and now are charging me for their screw up. I disputed the charges 7 months ago and haven’t heard one thing from the hospital. I’ve called twice to ask who I can speak to and they said no one. The complaint goes to multiple people to review. There isn’t one person responsible for communicating results of disputes. What kind of place operates like that. You should have someone in charge managing the disputes. I will never go there again. Complete incompetence on all ends!

Horrible service they treated me like a junkie and basically told me that they couldn't help me to go see a doctor. And that was a doctor telling me that. Horrible doctor was Jose Luis Rosado

I wish I could rate 0 stars. As a 27 year old dude who did his fair share of downtown DeLand adventures at the bar in his early 20s, I recognize a lot of the nurses from that scene and most of them refuse to make eye contact with me. They know I know...I share this information because these same pub crawlers are "taking care" of our central Florida residents. The same people who, "are numb to the patient alarms" - actual quote by one of the "outstanding" nurses there when the head nurse scolded a trio of cackling nurses ignoring someone's bed alarm two doors away from them. It's a really horrendous scene at this hospital, changes need to be made from top to bottom. From doctors who are known to have poor bedside manner and the nurses don't bat an eye when you tell them an angry doctor shoved a catheter so hard into a patient's bladder it came 'out' the other side; To nurses who literally steal patient's iPad (that happened just over the weekend) AVOID this place at all costs. It could save your life

Most of the staff were very nice and concerned. They explained the procedures well and adequately. Some of the staff need to recognize and learn more and accept Cannabis as a medicine. They also need to call it by its proper name Cannabis, not marijuana; and most importantly not make faces because of their ignorance. Overall a fair to good experience.

Dropped from an X-ray table, with a back injury, and treated very poorly by the incompetent ER physician. Went seeking relief and left in worse pain, than upon arrival.

Was put into ED116 2 hours ago. No call button or blanket was offered. I haven't seen a nurse, CNA, Dr, or admitting. After an hour and a half I had to get up and get the call button so I could go to the bathroom. Absolutely ridiculous. Finally after 3 hours the Dr walks and asks me what's wrong with your ???. I stopped myself from cussing him out and politely explained I was there for something else. It was all downhill after that. I will be going to my Dr in the morning. Florida Hospital DeLand doesn't deserve any stars.

Zero stars! Avoid this hospital. What a sorry excuse for medical care. The incompetency is mind blowing. Apparently the only evidence of me being in the emergency room is the bill they sent me, ridiculous!
