I called this company and got a "binding estimate” (more on this later) for $8950. This “estimate” says that the cost of your move does not go up if you submit a truthful inventory list and if you do not add any additional services. Based on your inventory list, they calculate the cubic feet your move takes. That’s the basis of your price. When the “real’ moving company (Nationwide Moving Service aka AmeriSafe Moving is only a broker) the foreman walked around like a peacock on steroids and told me to carry out my move he wanted an additional $5000 because I had “so much stuff”. He also wanted $500 to take apart my bedroom wardrobe. I showed him that everything I had was exactly what I had submitted for my agreement. The agreement (see above) the cost would not go up if nothing changes. He lectured me that he is the one determining the cost of the move and wanted to force me to sign an amended agreement for $5000 more to carry out the move. Here we are, I took a day off from work and he trying to strongarm me, thinking I am desperate and sign. I did not, I told them I only pay the original amount. Note: One of the guys on the truck told me he does that all the time..I told them to leave as I was not willing to pay $5000 and felt I was frauded. It get's better. I have to take them to court now to get my $3500 deposit back, which they kept as they state the contract says you only get your deposit back if you cancel 72h after you sign the contract. But sure enough, how do you know 72h in advance that someone is trying to trick you? I would have some explicit words here, but my wife stopped me.

Another, if I could give zero stars, I would review. Nothing they said to me was true. If you run across their "Senior Moving Coordinator" John Wyville, do not walk, run. He told me he was sending a "wholly owned subsidiary" to move me. There were supposed to be three movers. Apparently, AmeriaSafe is a broker who doesn't own a dolly, let alone a moving truck. The movers were late. And by late I mean they were supposed to be there between 8 and noon on TUESDAY and they showed up at 12:15 WEDNESDAY. They showed up in a pickup truck and a trailer. Two of the three movers couldn't have weighed a 110 lbs although one of them was pretty tough despite being a 19 year old young lady.Upon arrival, we got to renegotiate the rate and I found out I had to pay in cash. That is always fun. A last minute trip to the bank. Thankfully we are blessed enough to have the $5,000 in cash that was demanded or I have no idea what we would have done. I was specifically told by John we could use a credit card. What he meant to say was he would take the broker fee with a credit card and we were on our own with the movers.Four hours late to deliver and John was nowhere to be found to try to help find out where they were. They had all our stuff and a lot of cash and we had an empty new house and a lot of concern. But hey, since they were so late, we had the joy of unloading in the dark.Again, literally nothing they said was true. Use them if you have a lot more cash than sense and at your own peril.I note the "owner's response." I am not going to bother trying to contact them. It is a common attempt by those moderating reviews to say it but there is no name to ask for and no one knows who I should talk to. If they cared, they would have contacted me. Do not use them.

An absolute nightmare and a scam. I wish I would have found and read through all of the terrible reviews before me before booking with them. I don’t even know where to start- the movers showed up a FULL DAY before my scheduled move date. After loading their truck with all of my things, they then decided to tell me it was actually going to cost $1,500 more than we had agreed on. What am I supposed to do when they have all my stuff locked in their truck and I need to be out of my apartment in one day? I was completely helpless at that point and they took advantage of it. I firmly believe they are scammers for this reason. To add insult, they moved my expected delivery date by a full MONTH. So I will be sitting in an empty apartment for at least a month. I have no faith in even getting my stuff back at this point. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. My move was scheduled for Sunday and the movers showed up on Saturday morning. They increased my moving rate by $1500 and told me that because that they had to walk through the back of my building vs. the front of my building it would be an additional $500. When I booked the movers Collin Patricks told me my rate was set at $3000 and wouldn't be a penny more. The moment I signed the contract, Collin went MIA and ghosted me altogether. They are supposed to call to finalize the move and review the inventory and I never received a phone call. I would encourage others to steer far away from this organization because the second you book with them, you are dead in the water. This is a scam and should be reported.

Be aware! This is not a moving company. It’s merely a call center that bids out your move to anybody who has a truck! Alec promises all, but Taelor, Jewel and Jack offer underwhelming customer service! This is a fly-by-night company! I have photos of them packing my mirror and a rug and yet when they arrived from Atlanta to northeast, the mirror and rug were not mine; and I never received my inventory sheet nor a follow-up call or ANYTHING! Good luck!

Initially, I rated Amerisafe 1 star, sparing all details. Given their timely response in suggesting to get in touch- only for them to not return phone calls, I write this only to ensure they have a fair opportunity to understand how they can better meet, at this point, even mediocre expectations. The process began on a rough note but I wasn’t immediately aware of how poorly managed this business is or what little care would be provided to me & my belongings. The communication leading up to pick-up was poor but the driver & team who picked up our items were decent and handled our items respectfully. We were charged more at this time than our quote but we expected that based on previous reviews. Our delivery date came and passed with no furniture or communication. We called- they stated it could be up to 21 days beyond the scheduled delivery date. Fine. At three weeks, we called for an update. They told us 5-7 days. 9 Days later, we call and they tell us 3-5 more days. Nobody ever had any answers and everyone put blame on anyone other than themselves. After 1 month beyond our scheduled delivery date, we got word that our furniture would be delivered the following morning. We sent photos and video of the entrance & driveway as there was question if their 18 wheeler would make it safely onto the property. (Our items only accounted for 1/3 of the contents in truck.) They attempted to enter the driveway in the 52’ semi only to crack & crumble the blacktop as well as destroying our yard, the neighbors yard & the entrance into the community itself. These are things we are now responsible to repair since the driver stated he is not and we cannot get ahold of the company. Upon realization that this semi was not going to make it anywhere near our door, we called a nearby storage unit and rented space so our items could be delivered there as no solution was provided by the driver or company. Because we were now delivering to a storage unit and the furniture did not need to be reassembled, you’d wonder if the remainder of our balance would decrease (since reassembly is included in what we are paying for) but no, we were charged an additionalll amount once more. They handled our stuff roughly, watching them drop multiple items on concrete. We paid for our tvs to be placed in tv boxes at time of pickup but for some reason our tvs were out of those boxes & wrapped in blankets (which we also had to pay for). A lot of our stuff was clearly wrapped differently than it was when it left. At one point, they were loading someone else’s belongings into our storage unit, which we alerted them to. Everything about the experience felt sketchy. We aren’t sure if we’ve received all of our items or the condition they are in as it’s not been unpacked and is in storage- but we are terrified of what we will discover when that time comes.

We, a small non-profit arranged for a move to NYC. The contracted movers (Jackson Mover) and AmeriSafe claim they cannot deliver without a special shuttle and additional fees. They have made multiple excuses with no justification. Claiming 18-wheelers are not allowed in NYC, then it's their trucks that aren't allowed in NYC, then that it wouldn't fit. We know none of this is true.We were up front from the beginning about our location and that our location can accept an 18-wheeler. They now claim that is irrelevant and delivery is up to the movers. They claim it is not their responsibility to determine in advance if they can make a delivery - even though we specifically discussed the issue of access. We have confirmed with NYC agencies that we are capable of accepting a delivery from the truck. The street location meets all the requirements.Amerisafe contracted a NYC delivery to a company that does not have a permit for NYC deliveries and blaming the customer after the fact. They are telling a small non profit we need to pay additional monies with 36 hours notice. And If we need more time they will charge us storage fees.We will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT go with Amerisafe for your move!! I had no idea they contracted movers. I waited 38 days to get my stuff after being told it would be 2-3 days. They charged me extra for a shuttle at delivery. I am missing over $2,500 worth of stuff, some irreplaceable. Their customer service is horrific, I can't even say enough bad things about this company. I now have a claim open for my stuff (and of course, it's a third-party company). Seeing how this all went, doesn't seem like I will get a good outcome.

I am not someone who chooses to review unless I want to report good things. Yet, if I could give negative stars, it would be here. AmeriSafe allows dishonest, awful behavior from their employees, and no review can do justice to the suffering, discomfort, and distress they put me through, all while promising me to best service in the industry, charging me for that service, and then consistently demonstrating a complete lack of ability to do so. At a minimum, this company should honor the commitments made by their employees, and if they are to be truly 5-star, as they so proudly proclaim, they need to make more changes to every part of the service they provide than my review could ever address. It was disgusting to be treated as if my 2B/2BA interstate move and my $6K was "nothing" compared to all the business they book in a week, as I was reminded of so many times, somehow discounting the severity of my problems because my move wasn't a costly one. From the moment they got my deposit, they no longer cared what was said, what was agreed to or promised, and they only cared about getting their money. When things started to go wrong, which they did in spades from the very start, the attempts to punt the responsibility elsewhere happened over and over again. They even tried to manipulate me into thinking that it was somehow my misunderstanding or my fault for every promise broken or commitment they made to me that failed. The beginning-to-end service and support promised me by the salesperson, who sold me a lot more lies than anything else, acted as a stereotypical used car salesman, and kept assuring me I was paying for the "Best" 5-star moving company and that one person would be there from start to finish to hold my hand through the move. I was not worried, as this is my 14th move with companies in my life, so I was undaunted by the process and assumed all would go as smoothly as all the others I had done in the past.I was reminded at every step of the move that my money meant nothing compared to all the business they did in a week, by various parties, and they were willing to compromise their integrity at every turn to make a few dollars. Ironically, with the 8 times they had me reschedule the day for delivery, for what were excuses and lies (which they even agreed it appeared to be), that cost me thousands of dollars, they could have had that money for the move if they had just told me I needed to pay more for them to keep their word. Simply put, they just did not stand by anything they said, and did everything they could to avoid responsibility and point to the subcontractors the packers the delivery the dispatch, or the drivers for the excuses and reasons for the problems that unfolded.I did not fault the pick-up or delivery subcontractors, who were not supposed to exist, and even tipped them because they were just workers doing the job assigned to them. I fault AmeriSafe and Leo, the SALESPERSON, who promised to be my sole point of contact from start to finish but disappeared the very moment the first wrong thing occurred.

Amerisafe moving services or National Moving Service, whichever their name is provided me a quote that seemed too good to be true, and yes, that should have been my first warning. Brandon did a great job pulling me in to signing a contract with him during our initial phone call. In the end, I paid close to $2000 over the original “estimate”. My mattresses were delivered soaking wet…not just damp, saturated wet! I was never told that my stuff would go from my home to a loading dock to sit and wait for pick up. I was told it would take 1-3 days for delivery and it took 7. The square footage that Brandon quoted me was only enough to cover 2 bedrooms so more than half my stuff didn’t come with me and I still ended up paying close to $2000 over the original estimate. My movers were Russian and I have nothing against giving people the opportunity to work and live here, but they spoke very very little English. In fact, the delivery guy spoke no English and we had to use his phone to communicate through a translation app. This made an already stressful situation even worse. Let me not forget to mention one hidden fee after another. And the best/worst part of all this is the absolute HORRIBLE customer service. I have text and emailed Brandon and even called him numerous times with no response. When I finally threatened a poor review, he finally called me back and acted like he was sooo sorry for what happened. He asked me to text him pics of the paper work for which I did. That was 2 weeks ago and he has not responded to any further texts or emails from me. If you are planning to move, I highly suggest you do not use this company!! It has been a complete nightmare!12/2/23: Amerisafe responds to this review and asks me to call them because they have “high standards” what an absolute joke. I have talked to two people and emailed my bill of lading so she could review it and get back to me. That was over 3 weeks ago and I have heard not a word from anyone. Please, if you are planning to move and you are reading this, do not use this company. Save yourself the trouble that will surely follow. This has been the worst case of customer service I have ever experienced. You suck Amerisafe.

Veteran owned? I’d beg to differ. Veterans don’t treat people the way these folks do.These folks will give you a quote, send you an email with the “estimate”, then pressure you into a putting down a 50% deposit while you’re still on the phone trying to read the estimate. Long story short, buried in the fine print, the estimate becomes a contract once you put down the deposit. And guess what? It’s nonrefundable unless you contact them via email within 48 hours (or something short like that). We called to cancel and were told we would not receive a refund. After several phone calls, emails and text messages, we were put in touch with the “owner” who told us it wouldn’t be a problem, he didn’t need the bad review, and would refund the money. No refund was made. After repeated, phone calls and text messages and emails, they wouldn’t even answer his calls. It was like they blocked him. So we filed a dispute with our credit card company. AmeriSafe sent them a copy of that particular part of the estimate. Our dispute was denied.Crooks… every one of them. From the salesperson to the receptionist to the owner. This is not how you treat people, this is not how you treat fellow veterans. I’ll spend the rest of my life warning people about you.

I have moved 9 times and have never had such a horrible experience in my life! This company mis-represented itself, selectively chose the parts of the “binding agreement” they want to be applicable, lied about delivery dates (promised within 3days from agreed upon chosen date, actually delivered 19 days after pick up), transferred all of my stuff to a warehouse and at least one other truck that I know of, broke several items, you WILL be UP CHARGED at every turn (extra stairs, extra boxes, extra time, extra space, parking restrictions, etc). I was charged over $2,300.00++ MORE than estimate even though I sent pictures and reviewed information with several “quality control” people. I recommend that you DO NOT USE this company who verbally boasts a 5 star rating. They do not do the actual move, but hire “trusted” contractors who then charge and do whatever they want - regardless of “binding estimate.” Again, “binding estimate” means only honoring the parts AmeriSafe and “trusted contractors” choose to honor. Hire a moving company who moves your stuff from point A to point B without transferring or putting in a warehouse until they feel they are ready to bring your stuff! DO NOT sign any documents on a tablet as there are many many pages and a lot of fine print which you would most likely not read it all. They strategically make you sign pages of documents before they do anything. You cannot cancel if you don’t like the forced terms once the movers are there. You will lose your huge deposit! You can cancel 24 hours before the movers arrive, but they do not start changing additional prices until they actually arrive. Based upon my experience, DO NOT even consider using this moving contractor. This one goes by several names so be very cautious.

Never trust this company- they will scam you and you will pay double by the time you are done. Poor communication- sent two different groups of movers to our home. One started packing and then had to unpack when AmeriSafe called them to go back to Vegas(they drove all night). No one answers the phone on your moving day. They get your money and they disappear. I called customer service when I had concerns the day b4 the move as I was contacted 2 times with different times of arrival- I was told to ignore them. The second crew showed up with Walmart bags - the 2 men(yes, amerisafe thought it was wise to only send 2) who just flew into the states, hired unqualified movers to pack our valuables (hardly wrapping our furniture) took over 10 hours and when it was delivered, broken and damaged. Nothing we can do but try to warn others. They asked me to contact them after posting this. But why didn’t they reach out to me to resolve? Lazy.

AmeriSafe made my moving experience stress and hassle-free! Their crew was professional, efficient and took great care when loading our home into their truck. No hidden fees or charges - just amazing service with constant communication. I will recommend them to all my family and friends!
