I found this place a few months ago and have gone back multiple times. They have a giant variety of plants that I can't find anywhere else. They were the only place that had string of pearls!

If you’re a plant lover then you must come to Johnny Mangos! The place is thriving with luscious plants and the atmosphere is lovely. I enjoyed perusing through the plant section and the staff are friendly. I will definitely be bringing friends back here as well as coming back to get another plant. There are so many options and prices are as expected.

I’ve been shopping at Johnny Mangos for years now, and I never realized there’s a refrigerated section until today, full of bouquets/roses/and other varieties of flowers/plants! I bought a dozen beautiful/healthy red roses along with a nice glass vase for them. Kayla was extremely nice and helpful with arranging the roses and making them easy to travel with. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Johnny Mangos is a one stop shop for everything that you need for your garden. The quality and abundance of plants is impressive. They have knowledgeable people that are ready to help. The place itself is a pleasure to walk through. I really love Johnny Mangos!

While I don’t typically write about bad experiences on this site, my conscience will not allow me stay quiet. Instead of going to Home Depot or Lowes to purchase a small tree, I decided to shop at a locally owned store for better service and knowledge of products - Johnny Mangos Garden and Nursery Center on Federal Highway. I prefer to give my business to local merchants, and was looking for a tree to replace the hibiscus that had been eaten by iguanas. The salesman recommended a small oleander tree and I bought it. I also asked about ixora, another plant that iguanas don’t eat, but he brought out the oleander and told me it would do the job of not being eaten. The next day, my contractor, who had previously been in the plant nursery business, asked me if I knew how poisonous the oleander is to small animals and potentially harmful to humans. I knew Johnny Mangos has a final sale policy, but I pleaded for an exchange since I live in a very dog friendly, gated senior community. Two days after my purchase, I returned the oleander tree and left it at Johnny Mangos. My request for an exchange was denied, and the manager, Kayla, told me that I should have done my research. I responded that I knew about plants that iguanas wouldn’t eat, but I had no idea about their toxicity and no reason to research the toxicity. Kayla informed that under Florida law, it is illegal to give any information about the toxicity of plants, they could be fined for doing so, and that buyers should research before buying. Then I called the Florida Department of Agriculture, and was informed by phone and in writing, there is no such statute that prevents nurseries from disclosing the toxicity of oleander. The rep who gave me this information told me that Johnny Mangos should have done diligence and informed that I had other choices that are less toxic to the environment. When I informed Johnny Mangos of the statement provided by the Dept. of Agriculture, the manager said “the Department of Agriculture doesn’t know everything.” After telling me that I had to wait one week until I get an answer from the out-of-town owner, I told her that I was giving her 30 minutes to refund my money, and she did. I am sharing this information to warn others how Johnny Mangos is not concerned about the safety of their customers, and that making money seems more important than working with the community in a reasonable manner.

I bought a bamboo palm that was infested with a scale throughout the root system. When I asked for a refund they told me tough luck. I would not recommend buying plants from here if you care about your personal collection at home. THE PLANTS HERE ARE INFESTED WITH SCALE! BUYERS BEWARE!
