Beautiful resort with large very clean apartment style rooms. Each has it's own private entrance with assigned parking space. Great service from staff. Many amenities, i.e., pools, hot tubs, kids playground, beach front, spa. Love this resort.
Rooms: Three bedroom apartment with beautifully decorated entry room as you step off a private elevator. Tastefully decorated with full kitchen. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom with tubs and large showers.
Nearby activities: On the Emerald Coast with beautiful white beach on property. Resturants, shopping near.

Love the resort!! Still lucia unit 804 pros and cons!
Pros: still a great view for sitting back off the beach! Beds were very comfy and unit set up was nice!
Cons: bathrooms are in need of updates. Master shower has bad mold. Washer and dryer need replaced. The washer water only trickles out and takes about an hour to fill up and start.

Would have given five stars but the hot tub wasn't working. It was COLD but the pool was warmer than the hot tub. The beach was a stones throw away. Friendly staff. Has a Ruth Chris steak house at the entrance. A bar on the beach called The Sandbar and a play ground for kids. The tennis courts had no nets. The indoor/outdoor pool and gym where closed. Not sure we'll spend this kind of money on this place again. We are frontline healthcare workers and needed to get away badly. We did enjoy our stay.

They are resistant to the housekeeping, the hotel manager, just because she doesn't speak English, behaved very badly with me.

The rooms were in poor shape. The showers did not work well the bathtubs were broken. The management staff was disrespectful to request. Overall, the place was not in great shape. The grounds were not kept up and the gates were broken.

Terrible customer service. We were harassed on the beach by the resort staff on the last day of our stay because we did not wear the resort bracelets.
We stayed right by the shoreline but they still tried to kick us out.
Any reputable place will try to accommodate their guests on the last day of stay by allowing use of facilities, storing luggage, etc. Not this one!

Sandbar, Katy and her crew are awesome.
Lauren, Alisa, and Cherish are professional and friendly.
Their positive attitude and service is on point.

Our family of 5 just stayed (in the St. Maarten building) at Silver Shells and plan to return to Silver Shells resort! My husband found this resort by looking at Google maps, and though we were impressed by the photos we found online, our arrival in person exceeded our expectations. All the staff were great, from the people working the check-in desk, the guards at the gate (shoutout to Cliff!!!), and the maintenance folks (minor problem with tv). Each room has semi-private elevator access, and the convenience of getting directly to your condo cannot be overstated with that semi-private elevator! I’ve vacationed many places and none had this feature-we are spoiled for life now. The condo we chose (602) was beautiful; not sure how recently it had been updated but everything looked brand new, including the kitchen appliances. The balcony was a great feature and the view of the ocean was amazing. To access the pool area, you go down the elevator and take a short walk through the garage. Accessing the private beach was easy as well, it's a short walk from the pool area. This was one of the cleanest beaches I can recall visiting-the sand was WHITE and almost spotless, hardly any debris from the ocean. The “Sand Bar” is nearby and the staff there were amazing too! Drinks were very good (our favorite bartender of the week is Cherish, she was so nice to us), as was the food was (the pork sliders were solid). Though the wind didn’t die down for us to enjoy the glassy Destin water I was hoping to see, there was plenty to do to keep us busy: gym, new pickleball courts, pool, hot tub, and lots of shopping nearby. Plan to bring or buy toiletries like hand soap, body wash, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. Each bathroom had two small soaps and a roll (or two?) of toilet paper. We needed more to get by, so went shopping at the Wal-Mart that was just across the road. We stayed here late-April/early May so it was NOT crowded (huge plus for us). We all loved staying here and highly recommend it!
