A favorite with the Gulf Coast locals and visitors since 1974. The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House got started in a small A-frame building on the beach in Destin, FL. We have become a destination for delicious Gulf seafood and the best Gulf views.

The Back Porch is a fun cedar-shingled seafood shack, an ideal place to try your first char-grilled amberjack (not always the most gastronomically accessible sportfish). The menu features all the casual, beachside classics, from nachos to hamburgers and fried shrimp, but here's better living through science: the local oysters are submitted to a patented Ameripure process that kills potentially harmful bacteria, rendering the sweet bivalves incredibly safe to eat raw. The view from the restaurant and wide patio are luscious---and you won't mind waiting for a table because you can hang out right on the beach while they ready your spot, especially if you're sipping on a potent Back Porch Punch with its blend of three rums and tropical fruit juices. Also, this is a notable surf spot (one of the very few on the whole Gulf Coast), so you can watch surfers paddling out hopefully to the break.
