I was recommended to go to Walmart Vision Center by another bison center store who didn't have a doctor at the time. I'm so happy with my visit. The staff was so nice and the doctor was outstanding. I only got contacts this day. I went back yesterday, to order glasses. The sweetest man named Bob helped me. He knows his stuff! I've left the Walmart in Destin seeing better than I have in a long time. I left off an important thing. Their prices seem to be very good from what I have paid in the past.

Miserable. I fix organizations for a living. When we walked in there today no customers were in there, and none showed up when we were there. Clue bird chirping at you. Bob the optician was hateful and disinterested in making us happy. My glasses were ill fitting and actually digging into the side of my head. Did Bob offer to do a thing? No. He said that I had waited too long to get my issue addressed, although corporate Walmart disagrees. He and the rest of the staff there seem to think that opticians don't have to be able to tell a customer what size glasses might fit their head, instead they ask "you how you feel about them". Clue bird again... not every pair of glasses fits every head. Evidently none of the opticians there feel it is part of their service to tell you what glasses belong on your head. You can BOW out any pair of glasses to fit, but why not just help the customer select one that fit without bowing to begin with? I thought that when I went to see a licensed opticians that they would have been trained to help select a good fit, and fit the glasses once they came in. Part of the Walmart BS mystique is that you can get service anywhere. Bob didn't want to take care of me even though EVERYONE knows that the FWB Walmart Vision Center is CLOSED, and that is where we had bought them. Evidently Bob wanted us to go back to the closed vision center and get our issue straightened out. We asked FWB where to go to get help and they sent us to Destin. Again, I fix organizations for a living, and this shop is a poison atmosphere. When we walked in, there was one thirty something white woman, Bob, and one Asian woman in there, all staff. The white woman ignored us completely, Bob scowled at us, and the Asian woman tried to help, though she was clearly dominated by Bob's hateful attitude. I asked where Mike was and Bob said "out in the store". We had been sent to see Mike, who was recommended by the FWB store. He is the one who bowed my glasses out to fit my head. When I asked him why this hadn't been done when I picked them up, assuming that Walmart has certified opticians, he said that doesn't happen often, implying that fitting glasses was not a reasonable expectation. I told Mike if that is so, why do I need you? I was trying to assemble the list of clowns that had gotten me to my ill fitting glasses, and even though the Asian woman had a name for the Latin woman who had helped me in the FWB store before, the one who recommended the glasses that were incorrect for my head, she stood in the store later and lied to my face and my wife's face, denying that she knew the name, and patting me on the upper arm. For all the time that we were there, unlike the FWB Vision Center which was always rocking, this place had NO OTHER CUSTOMERS. In brief, this place SUCKS.

Dr Sparks, OD, is an excellent Optometrist and is not associated with the Walmart Vision Center retail shop.I was quoted $140 after insurance for frames and lenses. A couple months later, I received a bill for an additional $141. After researching, Walmart Vision Center Destin told me their computer incorrectly valued my lenses as a grade 3 instead grade 4, and I would therefore need today the difference. How would a consumer know how much insurance covers without the retailer informing them? I would not have purchased my glasses if I was told they would be $281. But I was told they would be $140, so I bought them, then had to pay an additional $141. This is classic bait and switch.See Dr Sparks for your Optometrist, but buy frames and lenses elsewhere. Walmart Vision Center has predatory (and certainly unethical) business practices.

Mike does a great job as an optician leading you through options for your eyewear.

First, let me say Dr Sparks is excellent. He is the Optometrist and his business is separate than the Optical shop. The optical shop was professional and very helpful. HOWEVER, when I selected my frames and lenses, I was told my insurance would cover part of it, and I would need to pay the $140 difference. I was agreeable to this and purchased the glasses. A couple months later, I received a bill from Walmart Health for an additional $141. I called the optical shop and after some research, I was told my lenses were higher than the quote I was given in the store. I have no way of determining how much my insurance would pay toward my frames and lenses. I rely on the retail shop to inform me of my out-of-pocket costs. To tell me t'sone price, then charge me twice the amount, is classic bait and switch. Do not but glasses or lenses from Walmart Vision Center unless you're ready to pay whatever extra cost, able what the insurance estimate was at the time of sale. Better yet, just buy frames/lenses elsewhere. But see Dr Sparks as your Optometrist.

Went there. After waiting for 35 minutes and "don't touch, don't walk, sit there", we left. What a time wasting! Never again.

Had an appointment here for an eye exam for contacts. I was called back at almost exactly the appt time. All of the staff I met were extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. There was no pressure to buy glasses (which I didnt need yet) or contacts from them, which I appreciated. I will continue going here for future eye stuff, and recommend to my family as well.

The only good part of this vision center is Dr. Sparks and his staff. Very good experience until it came time to get my glasses. After I picked out the glasses and paid over $200 for them I was told they would take 1 hour. I was called 45 min later to say they would take a few days because they didn't have my lenses in stock. After a week of headaches they finally called to say they were ready. I went in to pick them up and they were too loose so the lady adjusted them only to come back and tell me she scratched them when she was adjusting them. Now I have been sitting here waiting once again for them to get them to me. Next time I will use Dr. Sparks and buy my frames and lenses elsewhere.
