Be advised LG is producing defective products and then refuses to honor the warranty. This seems to be a recurrent theme in all the reviews.I bought on 12/20/2023 an LG microwave model LMV1764ST supposedly manufactured in China on 09/23, with serial number 309TAKKFX293 . Sunday March 17th, only 3 months after, while we were not home, the incide of the microwave caught fire and melted a portion of the plastic ring that rotates the plate and broke the glass plate. LG sent a technician 3/19 who said he couldn’t figure out what caused the fire since it was off to the side of the motor but that the equipment was not operational. Mind you that he did not disassemble the unit to see where the fire originated. LG is refusing to honor the warranty claiming that it was caused by my improper use of the microwave. They refuse to repair it or replace it. I spoke to the customer representative and requested a supervisor and their conclusion is that it is NOT a “manufacturing problem” because the technician couldn’t tell the cause. Therefore they bear no responsibility to fix or replace the unit that could have killed my family and destroyed my home. The pictures clearly show the unit was not operational as the fire was localized in one spot and the ring that would normally be rotating if the unit was in use was only melted in one spot. The rest of the unit also shows no damage as you would have seen with a grease fire that would be extensive and not so contained to a single spot underneath the rotating plate.LG should be investigated by the federal government for shoddy business practices.

Range LG4616st destroyed my kitchen door/drawer fronts during the self clean cycle. I just replaced a self clean oven I've used for 17 years. Their easy clean feature is a joke so I had to resort to the self clean. Apparently I need to be a technical engineer also as the the only warning is take caged birds from the area for the fumes and cabinets must withstand 184 degrees. What does that mean? I had the proper clearances between cabinets for the range but the 825 degree oven heat leaks out the door sides. The cabinet boxes were fine but the Thermofoil on faces were destroyed. I've had to spend thousands to replace them and LG doesn't care. BEWARE! I will never purchase another LG product.

Buyers beware, if you buy any appliance from @lgelectronics and the appliance breaks they will not send you a replacement no matter if you own it for less than a year. My fridge has broken 3 times at one point I was without a fridge for more than a week. Now my cooktop broke and LGelectronics is making me wait longer than a week including Xmas without the ability to cook at my house. Their policy is if a part is on backorder for less than a month you have to wait.
