Caring professional staff that go the extra mile. Dr. H is my go to vet. Extremely knowledgeable and enjoys surgeries with confidence. John at the front desk is always a pleasure to deal with. He's one step ahead of everyone. Quality health care for our fur kids is #1 in my book.

They had a cancellation and I was able to get a same day appointment. Dr Restrepo was so kind and asked many questions. Gave me options and medication to improve her appetite. Canela has eaten twice already and on her own. So happy and hopeful. Highly recommend them. Nice office and staff

They were so kind and wonderful. Dr. Matthews answered all my questions and told us everything about Mackenzie. We will definitely be coming back here.

We've been using AHD for several years for our digs and cat. Always a positive experience with no issues or complaints. Drs, techs and front desk are all friendly, professional, compassionate and helpful. Highly recommend

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new vet for my dogs. My dachshund mix was having some pain issues and was referred to this vet by a friend. The process of making an appointment was very easy and I was able to get a same day appointment. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Dr.Matthews was very nice as well and answered all of my concerns and questions about my dog. I think my dogs are in good care here. I definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a new vet!

On our first visit to this veterinarian for my dog's ear infection, we waited over an hour to see the veterinarian. I don't understand why businesses don't let you know when you check in that there will be an extended wait, so you're not wondering how long you'll be there. I went up and asked and she said, "a few more minutes". I don't think she understands the definition of "few" because it was still a long wait. I learn while in the exam room that Wednesdays can be "really crazy". I don't know why, do they schedule more patients than usual that day? We returned two weeks later for a follow up visit and I was running late and we live 1/2 hour away. I called on the way saying we were running 10-15 minutes late as a courtesy rather than just showing up late. They put me on hold and then came back and asked to reschedule later that day. I said I was almost there and we live 1/2 hour away so that wouldn't be possible. He put me on hold again and said the vet informed him she couldn't see us. I arrive and leave my dog in the car while I go inside and talk to the girl at the front desk asking if they would have just turned me away had I shown up and not called? She said if you're more than 15 minutes late, they do. I was right at 15 minutes and actually sat in my car a couple minutes before entering talking with my fiance if I should even go in after what they told me on the phone but I was so annoyed I decided to go in. On the phone he didn't mention any 'late policy', but the girl at the desk was now stating this policy. I then told her our first experience was waiting an hour to see the veterinarian, an HOUR. So my time is worthless but you can't get me in to follow up on my dog's ear infection due to being a few minutes late and even being polite enough to call ahead? That's a big fat I'll never go back to your place again. And yes, I did swear at her when I left bc she literally sat there with nothing to say to justify the stupidity of the situation. Edit after response from business: You're sorry about my "disappointment" as though there's some vague rationale for it? How about addressing the double standard of your staff? How about ensuring you don't do this to other clients in the future? How about an apology for refusing service to my dog with an ear infection?

We have been using AHoD for several years now, and they have always taken great care of our 4 dogs. Recently, we said goodbye to our sweet Pandora. She was a rescue for us at just 15 months in 2010. She was reunited with her litter mate, Padrona. Pandora suffered from many ailments as she aged, losing mobility in her hind legs in 2019. My wife assisted Pandora with many things after this. Dr. Woodley and Dr. Matthew's were simply amazing in her care, especially this past year, and we can't thank them and the staff enough for all they did in Pandora's transition. All of our dogs are patients here, we are happy they take great care!

If you are looking for the best veterinarian in Pinellas county, please read this review. My dog is a 10 year old German Shepard with a history of colitis. We boarded her over Christmas at our former veterinarian with whom we have going to since our dog was a puppy. Our dog was not the same when we got her out of boarding and progressively became more and more lethargic. We called our former veterinarian at noon on a Friday because her condition rapidly declined. We were told that our vet did not have a doctor on staff at noon on Friday and the soonest appointment was on the following Tuesday. Frantically, we started calling any veterinarian that was able to see us, fortunately, we got hold of Animal Hospital of Dunedin. They informed us that they did not have any available appointments, however, told us to drop off our beloved German Shepherd and they would work her into the schedule. Over the next week our Shepard went through a litany of blood tests, x-rays, and an ultrasound. In consultation with the most amazing medical team consisting of Dr. Restrepo, Dr. Cuypers and Dr. Edwards, our Shepard was subsequently diagnosed with lymphoma resulting in an enlarged spleen, liver and lymph nodes. Her condition was grim and Dr. Cuypers spent well over 45 minutes discussing our options. We ultimately decided the most humane option was to start a steroid treatment regime along with many other medications to regulate her askew blood levels. Within three days we witnessed a canine medical miracle as our dog returned to her usual self. Words cannot express our gratitude to the staff of Animal Hospital of Dunedin, Dr. Restrepo, Dr. Cuypers and Dr. Edwards for saving the life of our German Shepard. This place is staffed with the most professional doctors, vet technicians and admin staff. Throughout this whole ordeal, we received daily calls to check on our dog's progress; every time we walked in we were greeted by the nicest, most competent office staff who efficiently handled our records, prescriptions and billing. The vet technicians were humane, professional and truly interested in our dog's wellness. This place also offers an cell phone app where we have access to all of our dog's medical records, reminders and notes. Frankly, you would be hard pressed to find a human medical doctors office that operates on the level of professionalism and efficiency as Animal Hospital of Dunedin. So happy we found this place; from this point forward, Animal Hospital of Dunedin will be our primary care provider for our four legged family member.

We have been seeing Dr. Matthew's for a good while now and there's a very good reason why. He is personable, knowledgeable and has many many years in the veterinary business. We haven't had the pleasure just yet in meeting the other doctors on staff but to tell you the truth, if they're half as good as one of the co-founders of Dunedin Animal Hosp., Dr Matthews, then they must be amazing! A huge shout out to the staff! Every one of them are so friendly and so attentive, and when it comes to customer service, they are top notch. I'll finish by saying if you moved to particular town or city because you heard the school system is great and that's where you'd like to send your children, well if you have the same level of care for your pet(s), then Dunedin Animal Hospital is where you should bring your pets. Sincerely, Brian, Kerry, Anthony and Sami

Used to love this vet but now it just seems like they are in it for the money. Every visit costs at least a few hundred bucks. Sent me home with the wrong amount of medicine (which i asked if it would be enough & they called to admit their mistake the next day) then had the nerve to charge me extra for their mistake on top of the inconvenience of having to go back to pick up the correct item. Will be finding a new vet.

I've been looking for a vet for my new Great Dane puppy and after one horrible experience in Westchase I was referred by a friend to AHD. You might be thinking how hard is it to find a vet....Well, when you have a giant breed and you do things a little different - I follow Dr. Jean Dodd fax protocol it can be challenging. There are a lot of opinions out there, but at the end of the day the decisions you make for your animal are yours and the vet I saw was candid with his opinion, but respectful of my decisions - I appreciate that! The reception area was clean and large enough to keep people and animals apart and the staff was really friendly and appeared to genuinely love what they are doing. I think I've finally found my vet!

I’ve been using this vet for 6+ years and currently had to switch due to not getting to the bottom of a health concern after a a small surgery procedure of a mole removal. My dog developed a cough and got the go around during curb side visits they forgot to even share with the vet about the mold which I had to them go back for another visit. The mold more then doubled and lead to removal. Now my dog has a cough after having a tube down his throat and we went in and were told it’s an ear infection—— still has the cough and no ear infection. Went in for X-rays that could not be performed because the dog needs sedatives apparently after going through previous X-rays in the past he was fine then. His mouth was never opened during the exam to look his throat was never palpated to feel for any abnormalities nothing. Anyways the receptionist is rude every time I call and seems to know nothing so I ask to speak to the doc and get declined because “he is like really busy right now” my second dog went in for ear irritation and I got ear drops and still having the trouble no allergy tests performed or no allergy medication offered. They push for high cost for everything and resort to expensive drugs when they don’t know what is wrong or how to go about finding out. Dr b will be missed but the rest of the staff certainly will not be after poor treatment and in my opinion (no I am not a vet) but lack of knowledge for dogs. I also walked in and was told to weigh my dog this doesn’t sound difficult but a dog that has anxiety getting him in a scale alone is not easy so I asked for help and one of the girls looked at me like I was asking for a million dollars. You work there this is your job you can get the dog or better yet assist in getting his weight especially after charging me $240 for blood work and no answers. I previously recommended this vet to many of my friends who will be leaving as well. Make changes AHOD! Do better because this is not working for simple health issues I feel sorry for dog parents who have dogs who are really sick. And this has been hard enough having a dog for 6 months coughing with no answers who by the way was completely fine before he had a mole removed by your office. And no I didn’t switch laundry soap. When dr Edwards asked me if my dog was nauseous I nearly lost it because sure doc let me ask my DOG if he is feeling nauseated— really this is by far the worst experience since they started curb side appointments only and can’t fix either of my dogs small problems. I do not recommend this vet if you care for your fur babies at all they will give you a run around and charge a fortune for things other vets office charge almost nothing for. The math alone speaks volumes. ??
