I had an extremely disappointing experience with Sylvan Learning Center.
On the previous Thursday, the 6th, I made an appointment for Tuesday, the 11th, for my 2nd-grade son to undergo an assessment.I arrived about 15 minutes early, only to be greeted by a gentleman who had no idea why we were there. He was unaware of the scheduled assessment and seemed completely clueless. He informed me that the individual in charge is not present and will not be available for an assessment. We were about to leave after about 10 minutes, but then I was called back in for a phone call with the director and eventually got to speak to her. She admitted that she had simply forgotten about our appointment.
This was not only unprofessional but also incredibly frustrating. I had pulled my son out of his cooking class to attend this assessment, which ended up being a complete waste of time. How can someone forget such an important appointment, especially for a potential client? This lack of organization and respect for time is unacceptable.
Additionally, the pricing was misleading. When I initially called to book the assessment, I was told it would cost $95, but according to their website, it was supposed to be $29. When I confronted the staff about the discrepancy, they claimed it was due to corporate not communicating special promotions. I could have ended up paying more than I should have for a service that I didn’t even receive.
To top it off, I was told I’d have to wait for a refund, which is incredibly inconvenient. I should not have to wait for my money back when I didn’t get the service I paid for in the first place.
I can't trust a business that is this disorganized and unprofessional. This experience was an absolute waste of time, and I would NOT recommend Sylvan Learning Center AT ALL

We had an excellent experience with this program. The teachers are not only fantastic but also truly dedicated to their students’ success. My son attended over the summer, and they did an amazing job preparing him for the upcoming school year. Their support and guidance have set him up for success, and I couldn’t be more grateful!

It helped me get my sat score up to get into f.i.t. and if you what to sigh up I recommend that you go in person

My daughter is doing great & really enjoys her sessions. Having the ability to do virtual & in person lessons breaks up the "school" feel. She even said we should have done this sooner!! I am definitely happy to hear her say that & have told several friends of the great experience we have had!

I LOVE this place. The whole team were fully invested in my kids progress from beginning to end. Highly recommended for sure. My daughter brought up her SAT just practicing with them by 70 POINTS in a matter of 2.5 months. Can't wait to see the real results when she takes the SATs again! Great team for support as well.

Sylvan really helped me improve my Chemistry grade. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Tevin, in particular, has been my tutor and he has done an excellent job explaining the Chemistry concepts. I have gone from making very poor grades on the tests to making As and Bs!!!

My son went through the SAT tutoring program at Sylvan and he raised his math scores 160 points and his reading 95 points! He really liked his tutors and Robyn was so helpful in explaining the process, making recommendations and scheduling. This location is really well run, with a great staff who get great results. As an added bonus, he actually liked going to his tutoring sessions. What more could you ask for!

My daughter enjoyed the 2 STEM camps this summer! She couldn't wait to attend everyday! The staff were really great with her, and they kept her engaged & she really liked the hands on activities & being able to see the outcome of her projects. The 3 hours were jammed packed with what the camp promised; science experiments, computer technology & math! We would definitely do this camp again! She was having fun & learning! Love it!

We have had great experiences for our daughter. Her sessions have improved her confidence and skills with test taking, reading, and writing. She looks forward to her time with Ms. Penelope and the other teachers, which has significantly improved home life by decreasing homework stress.

As a Mom of a 3 boys, I was very frustrated with the current school my third child was in. They informed me last minute that he may fail the third grade and there was a possibility that he would be retained. I had heard from other parents in my neighborhood that Sylvan provides detailed instruction with a plan for success tailored to my child. I enrolled my child and within months he had shown great progress. Robyn and the staff are always friendly, encouraging and more than willing to go out of their way to help my child. Very affordable-great service! Thank you Sylvan!

My son loved all of the tutors at this learning center! They all helped him find his highest point, and helped increase his self-confidence. Before sylvan, he may have had the knowledge, but he didn’t have the confidence. He feels much more stronger in English and Math, compared to what he felt before. Thank you to all of you!!
