I’ve always had positive experiences at this store—until a recent interaction with an employee named Judith, which I feel compelled to bring to your attention.
During checkout, my Apple Pay initially failed. I apologized and promptly used my physical card, which completed the transaction in under a minute. As the transaction ended, Judith made a comment that caught me off guard: “I really think you earned that trend.” When I asked her to repeat herself, she responded dismissively with, “Nothing, here are your bags.”
As someone who has worked in retail for over eight years, I found her remark to be inappropriate and unprofessional—especially considering the minor and common nature of the payment issue. Later, I realized the Apple Pay error occurred because I was on a call at the time. I had also forgotten an item and reentered the store, still choosing to be courteous and even greeting her politely. However, the earlier interaction left a lasting impression.
While I understand that everyone can have an off day, I was surprised by how unkind and unnecessary the comment was—especially in an environment that typically provides excellent service. I’ve already reached out to corporate, but I wanted to share my experience here as well in the hope that it will be addressed internally.

If I could give 0 stars I would..let me start with appearance..parking lot has crater size holes all in it..it was nasty..it probably hasn't been clean it months..3 associates standing right outside the doors smoking...no hello or anything..just a we don't open for 5 minutes..you know so they could finish their smokes...lol..then they just threw them down right at the entrance where they were smoking..it's okay though because there was probably 150 other cigarette butt's there..myhusband said if the outside is this nasty I don't want to see what the inside looks like...this was our first and last time to visit this store.....corporate should probably consider a visit

Isles are cluttered but it's a great place to go if main stores in Dunnellon are closed. Staff is nice

Corporate office only care about their own individual Pay & hardy profits of a Store. The DG near us used to be out of just about everything, that sells well. Pet Foods Household items and most popular food items. Empty Shelves. At times they did have what I needed but it was in back stor room! That's were you could shop, as most out of stock items were waiting to be unloaded on a shelf ! Corporate doesn't Hire or Allow local stores to keep enough Employees on duty in order to get the store STOCKED with a STORE ROOM loaded, packed tight with all items missing on the shelves ! Its a Shame as the workers are overwhelmed in a job with no help most times! I've seen it for 3 years in Rainbow store ! Give your Employees a RAISE & Fire Corporate headquarters Laziness & Overpaid.2024, the PARKING LOT, Rainbow Lake area Store, is a Minefield,POT HOLES that get Deeper and Larger daily, u cannot drive around them, so many. Corporate seems to NEVER put Cash into Local store's guess they figure why should they, people still shop here ! I'll get some photos!

Soo i go into this store often. And this afternoon I went in there and it smelled sooo bad I couldn't control my actions. And the cashier on site was kinda rude being I imagine she was annoyed at the smell and being the only person on site. Still no excuse to be rude!! I told her she should put a sign on the door. It literally smelled like septic exploded in the store. Very unpleasant visit

There has been a dramatic change in appearance and atmosphere since new management took over. This place is now clean, organized and well stocked. Michael and the night manager are always so kind and quick to help.

Worst DG ever. Closed half the time during regular business hours. Never a cashier at the front. No one ever answers the phone when you call. Store is always dirty and cluttered. Products stay unpacked between deliveries.

Couple days back we Bought a wrong Swiffer path from a very nice cashier unfortunately we didn’t kept the recipe so today we went back to just exchange and buy couple more products until the cashier say no to us and call her manager Rebecca she was very disrespectful and degraded us making us feel like trash told us corporate doesn’t let exchange products, kick me my 5 years old and my fiancé from the store just because we didn’t have the recipe even though we just purchased that there couple days back I feel so degraded by this dollar general I have spoke to corporate and I hope this gets resolved because no one should be treated like that. What type of industry would accept anything like that.
