Had a very negative experience here with my sons VPK teacher Ms. Lisa. My intensions for the review are to prevent others from going through what I went through with my sweet little boy. My son started school very excited but it turned bad quickly. I pulled him out of the school in October after seeing the negative impact she was having on his mental health. He started to regress, feel like a failure, and could not understand why he was 'bad' Turns out he was not misbehaving, he was just being a normal four year old and many other parents pulled their children out as well. My mistake for keeping him there as long as I did. He told his new teacher at his new school thank you for not putting kids in corners and sending them away to the office.

I love this school honestly. I have been going here for 6 years. And those six years have been good. There is a little down side though. Once you hit fourth grade and up, you have to do student congress. You also have to do speech and debate. Now, I'm not against speech and debate and all that stuff, but I do have stage fright. A lot of the other kids have stage fright in my class, too. But, in the future speech and debate does help people. I really suggest you send your kid to this school if you`re looking for one. I`m currently just a 4th grader who had made this review, but just know that this is a very good school. They now do parent-teacher conferences which is good, too. My whole life I have been going to this school and I have seen all that has changed. If you need to send your kid to school somewhere, then I suggest this school. Thank you for reading this. -Respectfully Submitted; Loraleigh McCafferty...

I don't remember that much cause I think I was in kindergarten when I went there, but from what I remember, the teachers were really nice and my mom was vice principal in, like after school, like aftercare, that was really fun. Trevor Dallas, is my name

If you want a school that creates believers, doers, and confident children Discovery is the one. Not only will your children get a SOLID education in the core subjects such as reading, writing, arithmetic they will also learn a multitude of things including debate, hands on science, thespians, computer programing and labs, advanced math and so much more. I have a child who has since graduated and she is now in college double majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical space science with music as a minor. This is happening because of her foundation at Discovery Academy. Her teachers BELIEVED in her and gave her confidence to pursue her passions.

We sent our daughter to Discovery Academy for Pre-K because our niece went there a few years ago and we were impressed with her education. We couldn't have been more pleased with the education our daughter received. The curriculum was molded to make education fun and creative. Her education when far beyond "book studies"...she learned about respect, kindness, and love. The environment is small, so we knew that our daughter was getting personalized attention. We looked at much larger and much more expensive private schools, as we are determined to offer her the VERY best education as she begins Kindergarten. As she came home and discussed the things she had learned, we decided that Discovery was going to offer her what we are looking for. Our decision was only confirmed when we attended her Pre-K graduation ceremony. To say we were impressed with what her teacher was able to teach them for this ceremony is an understatement. (My husband and I even learned a few things...lol!) We have enrolled her at Discovery for Kindergarten and can't wait to see what the future holds for her there! The sky is the limit!

Staff seriously needs to be mindful that parents should be treated appropriately! We have questions and concerns and should not feel like a criminal because we have used our "voice" in behalf of our children. If you think of bringing your children here and have the natural overly protective instinct to stand up for your child be ready to deal with the repercussions from the administration. Not every school is perfect but not every school has adults working in them.

Fantastic education, but with social problems is a ok school. My daughter has been having trouble with the students and hasn't been able to make friends easily. She loves learning there but she does not really like the people there.

This school is amazing, not sure why anyone would put a negative review! I have two boys that go to this school and they are both doing great! My 5 year old is already starting to read using phonetics, and my 9 year old consistently tests 4+ grade levels above across the board! They have amazing science, math, literature, and theater programs and my 9 year old tested 12+ grade level in science when he was in 3rd grade. Can't say enough. We've talked to other parents, and their children are the same!
If you're interested in a different learning environment because your child is not responding well to other schools, check out Discovery. They do a great job of teaching to all learning styles and keep everything not just book learning but hands on!
AND THEY HAVE AN IPAD PROGRAM FOR 4TH-8TH GRADE. EACH STUDENT GETS ONE AND THEY INCORPORATE IT INTO THEIR CURRICULUM!
Check out this school. You'll be glad you did.

This is a great school. That is it. This school has taught me a lot. I read the other reviews about the shouting and issues. And while I can say they are some issues (But everything has some flaws) it is a great school to attend. As for the shouting, That reviewer should have learned more about the school, the teachers talk to the students as if they were friends instead of just students. We joke around often and that I feel is a great thing for a child to have. And in the end i feel this school deserves 5 stars.

I went to this school when I was young, in the early 90's I believe. I can't say much about it except that I barely remember anything, and don't recall any happy memories from back then, just know the feeling I get when I think of that school. I personally don't like that school, can't remember why though I just know I don't like it. And due to this when my son started elem school this past year, my husband and I decided to send him to the school my husband attended. I am sure many things has changed in the 20 some odd years since I have attended. I do know that when I went to the tent at a fair some of the office staff greeted me remembering me, and handed me a small bag with info on the school. We did review it and it did indeed seem nice. But I didn't feel right sending my son to school when every time I think of it I get that feeling and can't remember why I get it.
I personally would put 1 star, but I decided with 2 for a reason that 1 star says "hate" two says "dislike". I don't hate it. But I don't like it, so I chose the star with "disliked"
Sorry if this review upsets anyone, but I can't help what I feel about the school, or why I feel it.
Take care, and I hope your day is well.
