I loved using Indian River Animal Clinic for my beloved Coconut. Such a great team of professionals with kind hearts. We lost Coconut at age 19 and IRAC treated us like family. I will never forget their kindness.

Dr. Garrett killed my cat. Her negligence directly caused my otherwise healthy 5-year-old cat's death. Don't bring your animals here for anything except maybe routine vaccinations, because the vets are not competent to treat pets if your animals are sick! They'll tell you your pet is fine and let your pet die in agony a few hours later. I've had multiple issues with the vets and staff here over the years not actually caring about sick animals, but they were the only vet anywhere nearby open on Saturday, December 23rd when I woke up to my cat Eggy suddenly being very sick, throwing up and acting very weak and out of it. I took her in at 11am, Dr. Garrett diagnosed her with gastritis, and said Eggy must just have had an upset stomach from eating something that didn't agree with her. Dr. Garrett gave her fluids, prescribed anti-nausea medications, and sent her home. Eggy declined so rapidly after bringing her home that she was dead within 4 hours of leaving Indian River Animal Clinic. She was in visible pain the entire time, struggling to breathe, cold to the touch, and mewling from her pain. I tried to let her rest for a bit, hoping she'd start feeling better, but 3 hours after we'd left Indian River Animal Clinic Eggy was so deathly ill I left to take her to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Daytona Beach. We didn't even make it, she died on the way. The staff at the emergency vet were incredulous that Dr. Garrett didn't even run any blood work for Eggy to indicate the cause of her illness, and said there was definitely either an underlying condition that Dr. Garrett didn't notice, or poisoning that Dr. Garrett didn't treat, because just gastritis would never have caused Eggy to die so quickly. Eggy was only 5. She was too young to die, and especially too sweet to die in so much pain like this. Her death is entirely on Dr. Garrett's hands. She was dismissive of Eggy's illness, and, as we were the last patients to leave before the office closed for Christmas vacation, I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Garrett just hadn't wanted to bother with actually looking at Eggy. She probably just wanted to go home for the break instead of doing her job and saving a very sick cat. Well, while she got to enjoy her Christmas, her negligence meant I had to spend the holidays mourning. Please, don't take your animals here if they're actually sick. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. Dr. Garrett neither cares nor is competent to treat sick animals. The staff don't seem to care either. No one at the office will call me back or answer my phone calls, and I wouldn't be surprised if they marked my number down to ignore. PLEASE take your pets somewhere, anywhere else if they're sick. They won't survive if you take them here.

The best vets and staff. I'm grateful that Dr. Garrett and Chastity were able to help my sweetest girl, Eowyn, today. I wish other veterinary clinics learned from this team. I cannot express how knowledgeable and lovely this team is. Thank you guys. ❤️

Everyone here is great, Dr. Wetstone seems to be the only vet who actually takes pride in her work and cares about our pets. Other vets wouldn't recommend solutions because they thought we couldn't afford it and then later found out it was an option. (Unfortunately, this could have been the difference between more time with our pet)Thank you indian River staff, for taking care of us through the good and bad! Love Ochra, Maki, Sam, Tigger, and Zowie

Dr. Garrett, Dr. Whetstone, Chaz, and Jon are all the most helpful and amazing people in the world, and you could never ask for better staff than at Indian River Animal Clinic. Excellent service and even better medicine. I would recommend this clinic to anyone any day.

The staff here are so friendly, Dr. Garrett, she did a really good job with my macaw and she really took the time to listen to what I was telling her and she provided very useful information when needed or asked. I definitely would recommend f you are looking for a good avian vet in the area!

Two of my three pets have been here (the third hasn’t needed to visit yet) and this office has shown nothing but kindness and compassion for my pets. I brought my newest cat in first (he was a stray) and they gave me a lot of tips and tricks for helping him foster a relationship with my other cat. They were really kind and gentle with him, since I mentioned he was still pretty nervous. I brought my dog in today, who is protective of me and a bit reactive and easily over stimulated. They were so kind, patient, understanding, compassionate, and accommodating. It really made me so happy for them to have complimented him and were as kind and respectful of his boundaries as they were. This is definitely going to be my permanent vet and I’m so glad I found them.

Best vets ever! We've been patients for a few years. This week my anxious dog chewed his tail so badly that he needed surgery. They scheduled it for the next possible appointment and ended up having to amputate the end of the tail. Overnight, even with a cone, he got the stiches out. The surgeon came in on her day off to repair the wound. The entire staff are wonderful and truly seem to care about the animals. Highly recommend!!!!
