The rental I received was not up to the standards I'm used to with Budget. I think the agent went out of his way to give me a vehicle that they could live without because I was doing a one-way rental. It was dark out when I picked up my vehicle, so the first one had a weird rattling sound and needed an oil change. When I took it back, the second rental I took on my trip out of town was so full of cigarette smoke, which I figured ok I can buy a plug in. But when the sun came up and the amount of dog hair I saw in this SUV was so disgusting. It was literally piled up in the pocket of the door handle and all over the seats and floor mats. Plus there was a big stain that looked like coffee on the back of the passenger seat

The desk attendant was great. Very friendly and helpful. Pick up was easy. However, they had a car shortage and even though I had rented and requested a Toyota Corolla our only choices at day of pick up were trucks or large vans. We chose the truck. Unfortunately, who ever had it prior to us smoked in it and it smelled very bad. I do think there needs to be designated vehicles for smokers and non-smokers. Other than this, the pick up and drop off process was very easy and all staff were pleasant and helpful. I have rented from Budget before and will do so again. I may request a non smoking vehicle in the future if possible.

My car, check-out, and check-in experiences were great. I filled the gas tank as full as possible - nozzle clicked off twice, and I still added another $0.40 worth. The fuel gauge needle went past "F." 3.5 miles later I turned in the car. My receipt showed "15.3 gal out - 14.6 gal in," and I was charged a $6.99 fuel service charge. We all know that's garbage. I had to spend 10 minutes on the phone system to finally speak with an agent who could remove the charge, with refund promised in 3 to 5 business days. If Budget doesn't clean this up, I'll never rent from Budget again, and I'll advise my company to remove Budget from our rental agency list, as fuel service charges are not reimbursable travel expenses.

Key detail! Ignore the open hours listed here ("Closed at 11pm"). This and all other rental car places at Destin Airport stay open late, sometimes to 2am, if you confirm with them your flight is arriving late.I read this online, tried to confirm with the national call center.... they said 11pm only.... But that's not true.My flight arrived at 11:20pm. I booked my car for the next morning 7am, but was able to pick it up late at night.Just give it a try. They stay open late.

I waited at the front of the regular line for 20mins before I was assisted. There were only 2 agents working and they both were only taking people from the fast track line. So someone would literally walk up and get called next by both of the agents. Our regular money meant nothing! One agent should be assisting the fast track line and the other assist us "regular" paying customers. That would have been more efficient and effective. This was a terrible experience! Also the vehicle we received was due for a service!I do want to mention that the lady that dealt with our drop off was extremely nice. I believe her name is Crystal.

Just make sure if you are renting from Budget that you go over every inch of the car before taking it. We had a horrible experience with the car we had. It was dark when we picked up (so use the flashlight on your phone) our car should not have been released for rent it had previously been in an accident! We did not see the gouge til the nest day but the tailgate flying open when we were going down the highway was a clue. There customer service is less then desirable

Horrible service, unhelpful and not kind. Waited for well over 15 minutes and she failed to give me car seats needed for my two small children. Choose anyone but Budget.

I was hoping the reviews I had read were not going to be the experience I would have but boy was I wrong. The first person who helped me at the counter was so incredibly rude. She clearly hates her job and sees everyone as a transaction. She wouldn't explain anything on the screens that were coming up, and wouldn't address my questions without talking down to me. I paid for a midsize car and they tried to give me a compact crossover vehicle with no trunk space whatsoever. On top of this the vehicle was filthy! Stains everywhere on the front and back seat areas. I went back and had to wait in a 15 person line by this time. Thankfully a gentleman here was empathetic and helped me with my situation. He told me half their vehicles were recalled that morning which is probably why I got the vehicle I did. I find this shady business considering I didn't pay for a compact car and paid extra for a midsize. They put me in the only vehicle they had available which was a Toyota Tacoma, which was terrible on gas for my trip but at least gave the space we needed for our luggage and items. This vehicle while newer was also not cleaned well. It had sticky gunk in the cup holders and clearly an animal had been in there previously with all the fur everywhere. It was a downright not good experience compared to other agencies I rented from. I would avoid this location if at all possible.

There are a ton of negative reviews regarding staff but that was not our experience. Although we rented in the off season so that could be it. Picking up was easy with fast break and dropping off went smoothly also. The only reason I’m leaving a 3 star review is because the car did have a strong cigarette smell.Car was clean & comfortable otherwise.

Vehicle came with body damage. Usually anything other than a few minor scuffs is fixed between rentals with most car rental agencies. Apparently, not an option here. Left turn signal doesn’t turn off automatically. Pain in the rear to keep manually turning it off. Is there no post rental maintenance check here?

The car itself and the drop off were great, 5⭐️! However, the associate I encountered upon arrival to receive my reservation was emphatically, not. She lacked the necessary customer service skills and qualities needed for her position. Her personality and demeanor were so fruitless that it robbed the room of any positive energy. I felt as though I was inconveniencing her when I asked simple questions about certain policies and fees. I understand that I reserved through a third party, but that shouldn’t mean that I am treated as a third-class citizen. I expected to pay $244 for my one-way trip, but when I saw the additional $200, I assumed it may be a hold of some sort. None the less I thought I should still ask just to be certain. She responded with an eye roll before talking down to me as if my questions had insulted her. There are plenty of other places I could have spent my money to reach my destination, and unfortunately I didn’t. This experience did not make me feel valued or that my money was worth spending here.

Easy check in w/ Fastpass. The airport was a nightmare when we arrived, with outgoing flights being cancelled due to storms. Budget had a long line for rentals, but using Fastpass was easy and quick. The service reps were quick and efficient. Happy that our reservation was held for us and not given to someone else as people were racing to get rentals cars because of the cancellations. The car was clean and drop off was easy.

Literally the worst car rental place I've ever been to.. wanted a lux suburban or equivalent.... and this is what they gave us.... seen the damages but the bumper was still on..... said fk it and went to the condo we rented literally as soon as we hit the highway bumper was flapping in the wind like a damn bird... called them and said we are bringing this pos back thats insaneAs soon as we get back we are greeted by an insanely rude man who blames the damages on us saying we wrecked the car. Proceed to show him before pictures and he keeps saying idk pretty sure you'll have to pay for that...Go inside to complain and return the pos and get met by smirking shit employees.Ask for the toll road money back we had to drive through and an upgrade for the inconvenience... and are laughed at... will never do bis with this place again.

The staff was very busy and did a fine job of trying to handle the rush after our plane came in.. However, the car I received was smaller than the car I ordered with no adjustment of rental fees. The line was so long at the rental desk that I just kept the car and squeezed into it. Very disappointing to say the least. I had 3 other people plus luggage to fit into the car and still ended up paying for a larger car.
