Gamble Plantation Historic State Park is the only surviving plantation house in South Florida, originally home to Major Robert Gamble. The antebellum mansion is furnished to reflect mid-19th century plantation life and offers guided tours six times a day, Thursday through Monday. Visitors appreciate the knowledgeable guides who share insights about the Seminole Wars and the War Between the States. The park is well-maintained and features picnic tables in a shaded area, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. Events such as dance performances and car shows add to the vibrant atmosphere, making it a worthwhile destination for history enthusiasts and families alike.
This was a nice experience with my mom and I learned quite a few new things about the area. The house tour was worth taking. It's not a huge area overall but it was definitely a nice way to spend a few hours.
