I went during Thanksgiving weekend, so I can't fully review based on 1 visit when it was mostly cloudy and in the high 60s to low 70s temps. What I can tell you is that the sand is a mix of soft white and black sand. There are a lot of large rocks along the shore's edge, which look beautiful as the waves come in. Hubby and I were there to walk and relax in our beach chairs. Everyone else seemed to be working hard to find sharks' teeth like they were worth gold. I must admit, I spent about 10 min kicking around the wet sand to see if I found anything. I found a handful of medium-large shells, but no shark teeth. Will update this review after visiting in the warmer months.

Plenty of free beach parking. Great restrooms with rinsing stations. There are sharks teeth to be found at Caspersen Beach, I believe it's the best site for sharks teeth hunting in Florida. The tourists go to Venice Beach and serious hunters travel a few miles south to Caspersen. Take a strainer or just a pair of good eyes and you can find the teeth along shoreline where water meets sand. Additionally, the unspoiled nature trails and lush landscape without any homes or high rises makes Caspersen my favorite beach in the area! If your serious about finding sharks teeth, stop at Earth Treasures in Venice to get a scooper and custom made sifter.

We come here for sharks teeth. So much fun whether you are here for the beach or sharks teeth. Recommend wearing water shoes I’d you go out into the water. The beach isn’t quite the sugar sand you are used to. It is a dark gray but just as nice. There are shells usually along the beach to find.Recently there has been a food truck stations near the restroom building and shower.

Lovely beach! If you want to go in the water and are clumsy like me, I recommend walking a little south of the parking lot - there's a nice area without the giant slippery rocks. We found some shark teeth, but I also enjoyed hunting for shells in the clear water.

Amazing beach with lots of natural surrounding in a park- like setting. Stations to rinse the sand off and bathrooms too. It would be nice if they had a food stand for drinks and snacks but just bring your own! Also a great place to find shark teeth if your into that?

Unspoiled is the word I would use to describe Caspersen's. It is my favorite Gulf Coast beach because of its natural beauty. Known for the shark's teeth that wash up on the shore, the beach is loaded with shells and fossils. We have seen dolphins and lots of other wildlife here. Parking is convenient but is sometimes full by midday.

Shark tooth capital of the world. Found 900 in one day.

Wow this beach is intense. Forceful waves, rocks lining the waters edge and TONS of people hunting down sharks teeth. There are piles of discarded shells all over the beach from people looking for sharks teeth. It's a relatively smaller beach width wise. If you're looking for a relaxing beach this isn't really it. As far as how it compares to other beaches for teeth, I would say it's medium. We did find teeth but it was brutal with the waves and rocks. Ideally bring tools to find teeth at this beach since the waves and rocks can be hard to navigate around.

Clean beaches with lots of biking options. I like the pockets of secluded areas. Parking can be a challenge.

I've been looking forward to visiting Venice and Caspersen Beaches bc both are known to be the best places of all the gulf beaches to find ancient fossilized shark teeth! The black sand near waters edge made it feel like I was in a foreign country. The seclusion and privacy is top notch I did not find any shark teeth yet... but I will!

The only reason I'm giving this beach a one star is because my cousin and i unfortunately got pretty much eaten alive by what we believ are no see ums! This is the first time this has ever happened and dont wish it to anyone! We have only been here during sunset because our sister ashes were spread at this beach so we like to come here for her. Definitely not a great experience for us

It's difficult for me to just sit and read or sunbath on a beach so Caspersen is a perfect fit for me. It's a beachcombers dream. I have spent many hours over the years hunched over digging and sifting the sand in search of fossilized shark teeth. When you get really good at it you can match the teeth to the shark. Over the years it has become much more difficult to find larger sized shark teeth but the smaller ones are plentiful and still lots of fun to find. You don't need special rakes and sand baskets on a pole that sift the sand ....but it makes mining much easier.
