DO NOT GO TO THE SHOE DOCTOR IN ENGLEWOOD FLORIDA! He is a rip off!My granddaughter dropped off 2 pairs of high heels that needed the black tips replaced on the heels. When she gave me the pickup ticket a week later (so that I could go pick up the shoes) I saw written on the ticket "70" --I asked her what that "70" meant and she said, "I don't know I just dropped them off and the guy handed me this small little yellow claim ticket." I was in shock! Did the "70" mean that was what he was charging me to put 4 black rubber tips on the heels? When I reached the store I said to him, "I just saw this claim ticket today and if "70" is the price you are charging me, then we've got a problem." He confirmed that was the price. Neither pair (dress shoes that I rarely wear, and which are both more than 20 years old) cost over $30. There was no way that I was going to pay $70 for them. I told him, "Keep the shoes, and I walked out." He came to the door and told me to come back in so we could "talk". I told him I would pay him $30 and he said "no", so I walked out again. He followed me and said he would take $40. I VERY RELUNCTANTLY gave him $40---but ONLY BECAUSE I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE COST AND THAT WAS MY FAULT for not immediately getting the claim ticket from my Granddaughter the same day she dropped them off. Had I known the cost that day, I would have called him and told him DO NOT FIX THOSE SHOES. I laughed out loud when he hollered as I left, "you not come back again, right?" So, I learned a very valuable lesson---don't assume that anything these days is going to be fair. The world has tilted off its moral axis!

I recently took my beat up Topsiders to be refurbished to the Shoe Doctor. I was hesitant and wondered if they could even be repaired as the stitching was coming apart and the heels were absurdly worn. Vitaly worked magic, My Sperry Topsiders are like new.If you need a repair do not hesitate to stop by 1546 South McCall Road,Englewood, FL 34223 He is the best.

I have a pair of Frye boots that I have owned for 10 years. They are very worn and needed some TLC. On top of that my puppies got a hold of them and pretty much decimated the one heel. I found the Shoe Doctor on a google search and promptly dropped them off. For the bargain price of 50.00, I got beautiful repaired boots returned to me. I have another pair I'm planning on dropping of soon... - Don't hesitate to visit this business.

I gave my daughter my old leather boots which she wore to the ground. They looked impossible to fix but when we picked them up at the Shoe Doc they looked brand new and they are very old. Our daughter was so happy, she couldn't believe they were the same boots. A miracle.

We all have our favorite pair of shoes... in this particular instance, I have a favorite pair of rocker/biker boots. Well, my Bull-Pitt liked them as well. He chewed the zipper on the inside of each boot at the top so that I could not zip them up anymore. When I took them to a shoe repair service in the Venice area and was quoted a price to repair them that exceeded the original purchase price I felt defeated and that I would be recycling them. I held onto them anyway in hopes that I would someday find someone who could help me. That is when I drove by this little shop on South McCall Rd in Englewood, just past the intersection of Pine and Placida. It’s on the right, past the Sunoco as you are heading towards Beach Rd. When I walked in I was greeted by Vitaly. He was warm and welcoming. I explained to him what happened and he determined he could repair the boots. He described what he would do to make the repairs. I was able to clearly understand him. He quoted me a price that I felt was reasonable and fair for both of us (half of the original purchase price of the boots). This was on a Friday. He told me that they would be ready for pickup on the following Tuesday. When I arrived to retrieve my boots, the price was exactly as quoted and the results were better than I expected. The workmanship was excellent! Needless to say I am elated that I have these boots back in my closet available to me for wearing. Thank you Vitaly! You are now my “shoe guy”!

Brought in a very old and worn purse that I assumed was beyond repair. Not so! Not only did Vitaly fix it so it's usable again, he refreshed the leather trim to look almost like new. And at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend this place.
