Absolutely shocked at the customer service and sneaky tactics. Had to cancel my credit card because of this company.
I booked a car online… told me I was lucky to even get a car.. I said why was that even possible to book? she responds with “that’s corporates problem, not mine”.. anyways already not off to a good start.
Had to get the car detailed after I picked it up, full of milkshake spills, chewed sunflower seeds and food all over. It was the only car they had and her response was “rent from the airport next time if you want it more professionally cleaned where you’re going to pay more”. Have her saying this on camera.
Anyways after spending $1,400 there.. I was going to rent the car for longer. She said “come into the store, and we will see if there’s another vehicle or if you can keep this one”.
I arrived at the store, and specifically said.. “I didn’t refuel it incase I’m keeping it, if I’m not keeping it.. I’ll take it to the gas station across the street and fill it up before you close it out as I’m 1h 30min early”..
She said “ok let’s see what’s available”… she then decided to not rent another car to me because I disagreed with the price they were attempting to get out of me (a traverse for $200 more than I could have booked right in-front of her on the website for the exact same time/date, location and vehicle class)..
I said “I’ll just book it online right now for $200 cheaper at this location and leave with the car” she said I couldn’t do that.
Anyways, She got annoyed, demanded the keys back and quickly closed out the rental period an 1h 30m before it was due back without telling me.. I said “I have to go fill the car up” she said to give her the keys and leave…. Keep in mind, I got billed two extra days because it was late being returned which was paid in full and she purposely closed this out early to make up for the lost revenue on the second rental. $200 fuel charge they attempted to get out of me.
Certainly won’t be renting from them again and have Chase fraud department investigating this. Mistakes happen but this was a specific strategy to try and scam my credit card.

Worst customer service ever. The woman laughed at us when we told her the car that we selected and said “yeah, no. You’re lucky to get a car at all” ?????

The woman working there was kind but the car was very dirty. It smelled so terrible that I had to ride with the windows down the whole time I rented it just to breath normally.

This location is understaffed. Worker inside was helpful, but unfortunately there was no cleaning crew. Condition of cars upon check out was horrible with multiple unclean vehicles. The one we had to take due to no cleaning was full of hair and sand. Gross.

If you are leasing from the Estero Budget/Avis store, make sure you get a receipt when you drop off the vehicle. Don't just assume they can accurately process your return and overcharge you. Don't know what they are doing with the extra mileage, but suddenly this office cannot fix what mistakes they made and it is now my problem to deal with an 800#. Wasting my time. Not happy.

We had rented a 7 seater van as we had 6 people to transport (including two children in car seats). We were picking up on Sunday and leaving for Disney first thing Monday. We arrived Sunday at noon and there were no vans available. They offered a 5 seater SUV (what good is this to us?). After some time of very frustrating conversation we were offered a 15 seater van. What choice did we have? This was the only option that would work for us to fit our whole family.The van had not been cleaned and the solo budget worker (who had 3 parties to serve after us) went and got the van and did a quick couple minute clean, but needless to say it was still very dirty inside. When we got the van back to our place we had to vacuum it out and wipe down all surfaces and throw out all garbage, tissues, and food mess that was left behind. This is not something I’ve ever experienced from a car rental company. Driving an oversized van was challenging as it’s not something we were comfortable operating and it made the drive, parking and navigating very stressful. Once again though, with a very expensive Disney trip planned, we had no other option to get us there. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a vehicle. Very disappointing start to our holidays. I would like the opportunity to speak to management to discuss this situation and what can be done in the future to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Highly recommend AVOIDING this rental. While I'm fully aware you're never guaranteed the car requested, we were met with an incredibly rude worker who told us the car was NOT available and we could either rent another one comparable in price or another car $70 less than my prepayment. After getting the keys we walked out and saw the car I originally requested. I returned to the shop and asked about it, and she said IT'S NOT AVAILABLE, IT'S OUT OF SERVICE. upon returning the car, we had to actually go find a worker in the back of the store (who was vacuuming her car) and proceeded to not say a word until instructing us we're good to go. Just the most unpleasant experience and will NEVER recommend them or visit this company again.

The camry rental car i had from budget was beyond my expectations.Hands down the way to go.Averaged 36 to 38 mpg on the highway**********..Will rent same car from again in the future

This is my favorite local Budget/Avis rental spot. The staff are great, the process is efficient, the cars are usually well kept. Only had one rental where the car was outrageously sandy - but all the rest have been great! We rent every other month or more.

The associate was friendly and helpful. Inside the office are two torn chairs and a desk. They still use a dot printer...refresh the place a bit.
