The environment felt very unwelcoming. Wouldn’t look me in the eye while asking questions.

I’d like to share an experience I had today at the Ulta Salon at Coconut Point in Estero Fl. About six weeks ago I went in for a blow dry and was put with a new stylist. That stylist indicated my hair was breaking off and recommended a new protein treatment. I wasn’t told how much the treatment would cost and at checkout found out the cost, needless to say, I would have forgone the treatment had I known the cost. The treatment from “start” to “end” was no more than five minutes.
At my next blowout I asked my normal stylist, Jamie, about the treatment, after she explained it to me in detail, I realized my prior treatment wasn’t delivered correctly.
I went in today, I go weekly, and Jamie, my stylist, and Macayla, the manager, took care of me. Jamie did the treatment and I could tell a BIG difference with the results. I’d like to give kuddo’s to Jamie. She always explains every step of everything she does to my hair. I’ve been at Ulta for many years, nine I think and it’s important that your customer service team know that I appreciate both Jamie and Macayla taking steps to do the right thing today by giving me the treatment at no cost. I left the salon as a happy customer :-)
Like I said I’ve been going to this salon a long time and appreciate the courtesy!! Please be sure they see this review.
Thank you Cindy

How do they stay in business?
I visited the Coconut Point April 23 as I was out of pomade. The store was dead and I asked the women behind the counter if Ulta sold men’s hair products. There were two women behind the counter and they both looked at me and did not reply. One women spoke into a microphone to summon an employee from the back. I did not know what she was doing as she did not say even one word. She returned to picking at a bandaid on her finger, while the second women just stared silently.
An employee arrived from the back of the store and asked me to follow her, where she pointed to the isle with men’s hair products. Bandaid girl returned to picking at her bandaid.
I quickly found the product I wanted at 25% more than I can buy it for at Amazon (but let’s support local shops). I returned to the checkout where the two employees were assisting a customer. There was no sign indicating what check out was open or closed so I stood around hoping one of the employees would acknowledge me and perhaps assist. I finally asked bandaid girl and her accomplice if one of them could help or if the register I was at was open. I was told that bandaid girl was training silent girl. Neither one thought to acknowledge my existence or ask me to wait.
I’ve worked in a customer oriented business and know that people are happy to wait if you great & acknowledge them. These two employees had trouble even making eye contact.
It was a terrible customer experience in a store where the goods could be purchased easily and for less on line. The central employee, who was training has no business training or working with the public. The corporation needs to improve culture, hiring and training practices. They could have easily sold me more products but instead they made sure I will never return.

There’s a girl in there who seems to profile darker skinned people and follow them around the store. She wore a purple cardigan today

Could not recommend this place more. I got a partial highlight, hair mask/treatment, and trim. Janiece did such an amazing job, she helped me decide exactly what I wanted and guided me in addition executed my vision perfectly. The pricing is very reasonable. All of the salon staff was so kind and made me feel so welcome. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend to anyone looking for hair services in the Estero area.

The staff is not very friendly or helpful. They were more worried about putting products on the shelves then answering my question.

I walked in on Friday and asked where a certain product was. They pointed to an area and the two salesgirls continued their conversation. That's ok, but I walked back and said it wasn't there. Other salesperson tells me it is on the opposite side in front. Then they continue their discussion. Such bad customer service. Your competition would have walked me over and helped me select the right color. Where is the store manager to oversee their salespeople? When I was getting online to purchase there were three young ladies just chatting it up.
Now I will complement the young woman at the cash register. She was 110% sweet and professional. So I changed my star to two stars.

I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience at your Coconut Point location. On December 4th , I made a trip to your location, arriving at 8:15 PM, well before the closing time of 9:00 PM indicated on the store’s door sign. However, to my surprise, the store was already closed.
This was not only inconvenient but also frustrating, as I had planned my visit based on the information provided.
No worries, though—Sephora was open, and they got my business instead. While I hope to continue shopping at Ulta in the future, experiences like this make me reconsider my loyalty.

I had my hair colored and trimmed by Lisa, who did an amazing job. She listened to exactly what I wanted and my hair is just how I envisioned it! Thanks, Lisa! Thanks, Ulta!

Donatello is by far the most experienced stylist for curly hair I’ve had in my 56 years. My hair, at its worst, can easily look like a giant frizzy pyramid. It’s very thick and past my shoulders. I’ve had many nightmare cuts and know how easily it is to destroy my natural curl. Donatello took the time to talk to me about not only what I want, but also the best ways to care for my hair. My natural, and menopausal, desire is to thin the heck out of it. However, Donatello walked me through the pros and cons of each option so that I could make the best decision for myself. My friends and family also agree that my hair has never looked this good and healthy. Donatello gave the same time and consideration to hair color. I really cannot say enough good things about this stylist. The best way is to say I would drive three hours to have him care for my hair. Finally, as icing-the-cake, Donatello is kind, funny, and makes the time fly by. I highly recommend him!
