I’ve used Lake Pharmacy for the past couple of years since coming back to Lake County. The pharmacy is fine and responsive to needs. However, I’d like to give a huge shoutout to a specific employee. Cameron is the best staff member that I deal with regularly and she does really great job helping whenever there is an issue or concern. I always appreciate her help and she is great with explaining/problem solving. When I call from now, I will specifically ask to speak with her. Overall, very friendly staff and would recommend to others.

Had a very bad experience with Lake Pharmacy! After 9 years of going to the same pharmacy it decided to only rep dialysis products and it closed it's doors to regular dispensing of medications. This lead me to finding a new pharmacy and Lake Phar had a fairly good reputation. After about 4 months of going to Lake Phar they did something that was really quite low ball and it left me in a terrible position. I wear a transdermal patch that is prescribed one patch for every three days. I also take break through medication along with this patch. The patch is prescribed for 30 days (ten patches per month) and the break through medication is prescribed for 28 days. In order to keep the medications filling together my insurance company makes me pay for one patch every six months. When I started with Lake Phar and upon my initial visit I explained, in great detail, why this happened, what my insurance company expected of me and that my doctor fully understood the situation and would write my scripts to handle this twice a year occurrence. I was told by Lake Phar staff that this would not be a problem.Well, it was a problem and a big one at that! On the month that the "buy one patch" occurred I walked in with two scripts for the transdermal patch, one script was for one patch, that I was required to purchase. The second script was for the balance of nine patches that the insurance company would pay for. Lake Phar filled the one patch, of which I paid for. The problem started when I returned three days later to pick up the remaining nine patches. The pharmacist refused to fill the nine patch script! She (the pharmacist) said that they do not and will not break a box of patches (they are packed 5 per box) so would not fill my script. I asked what they did with the box that they sold me the one patch out of, and why they broke a box just 3 days earlier for me....and I will say that I was astonished at how abrupt, nasty and frankly, quite rude the female pharmacist was about having to answer my question. Then I asked why no one told me of this policy(?) when I came in and inquired prior to becoming a customer of theirs. Again, I was met with sheer disregard and as though I had done something wrong. I had done everything the right way...I went in prior to becoming a customer and asked, quite extensively so, about this very situation and was assured it would not be a problem. So now I was stuck, last minute, trying to find another pharmacy to fill my prescription. I never received an adequate explanation outside of "we don't break boxes" and it was an explanation delivered in a rude fashion and by the pharmacist herself. Trust is important, especially when you are dealing with lifelong medications. They did not care what this meant to me or the inconvenience that it posed.I did find another pharmacy and explained to them what Lake Phar did to me with my prescription. I share this experience with all that I can because customers need to know, especially when trust is required. I am so sorry that I ever patronized Lake Pharmacy to begin with as it clearly did not matter to them about the position they put me in or the impact it had on my health.

Refreshing to deal with real people. Forget Walgreens and Cvs. Support local small business. I am forced to take some medicine that Walgreens and Cvs make nearly impossible to get on a regular basis. Lake Pharmacy has my meds when I need them, and the employees are kind down to earth people, not corporate robots. Always greeted kindly and treated with respect. They actually appreciate your business and it shows. As long as things stay this way, the 20 minute drive doesn’t bother me at all and I will remain a loyal customer.
