An excellent museum that showcases the varied history of both Everglades City and the area, as it changed throughout time. Well worth a stop!

Small but nice museum. If you read through everything you can spend about an hour here, otherwise you can probably get through it in 10 minutes. The man at reception was super friendly! It's worth it for a short detour.

Amazing historical archive. Community driven, shows the deep root residents have within the community. The person at the desk was very kind and knowledgeable.

A very nice surprise, if you're interested in how the heck southwest Florida was settled, this museum is very informative. No charge for admission, donations only, the museum focuses primarily on Barron Collier's vision and commitment to building a city in south Florida and the Tamiami Trail from Tampa to Miami.

We went on a day trip to Everglades City to have lunch with a friend at the Rod & Gun Club, so we planned a stop at the Museum after lunch. We were impressed with the amount of SWFL Everglades history presented in the (small for a museum) building. We took time to watch the 2 short videos of the history of Everglades City and Collier County and the building of the Tamiami Trail from Naples to Miami by Barron Collier, which brought to life many of the artifacts in the museum. The displays do a good job of representing the historical timeline. The staff at the museum were very friendly and freely shared their knowledge of the history of the area and of Everglades City itself. TIP! This is one of 5 Collier County Museums that is FREE to tour (it does have a donation box there), and there is plenty of free parking, so do take time to stop and see this gem of a museum. It is a wonderful and unique trip back in time.

A nice little FREE museum. I requested pencils for my students and they were extremely accommodating to my request. The museum was informative and I learned a little bit about the history of the Everglades. A must stop if you have about 30 minutes and are in the area.

Great little museum. Note, this is a quick stop/tour in Everglade City. It is free and donations are encouraged. There are a few exhibits and a 5 minute video about the history of the everglades. There is a general history covered regarding the museum itself which used to be an old cloths washing facility - much of the old equipment is still there to see.

This is a wonderful FREE little museum! While we were here they had a 1 hour presentation by a National Park Ranger, and it was very informative. I highly recommend checking out this little gem in Everglades City!

So much was packed into this small museum that we spent at least an hour and a half there and learned a lot. Worthwhile videos, excellent displays. Appreciated the honest, respectful way that history was shared, particularly in reference to the treatment of the native people.
