Very weathered hallways. Rooms are okay. Breakfast looks nothing like the Google pictures. The whole hotel needs to be modernized/freshened up.

The Tradewinds Suite at Elizabeth Pointe, with its large private balcony, is the only way to go if you are aiming for the most romantic ocean-front beach getaway and resort-like experience in Fernandina Beach. They will add a special touch to your special occasion if you request it when you book directly with them. You can literally watch and photograph the gorgeous sunrise while comfortably sitting inside your beautiful suite wearing the cozy robes provided, or enjoy a memorable bubble bath in its large jacuzzi. Be sure not to miss their unbeatable blueberry pancakes (per request) and variety of mimosas ($) with an unbeatable, top class, hot breakfast, or their daily afternoon wine/beer/hors d'oeuvres social (all included). Also, enjoy your free access to brownies, cookies, fruits, water bottles, blankets and towels when you decide to use your private beach umbrella and chairs on the sand. All comforts provided, including covered garage and elevator to lobby. The staff was the best. We had a truly amazing experience at Elizabeth Pointe, and heartedly recommend it, especially the Tradewinds suite. It's worth it!

We really enjoyed our stay at Elizabeth Pointe! Hospitality was top notch, from friendly staff to delicious, fresh breakfast. They thought of everything… complimentary waters, evening happy hours, homemade brownies, and even a basket of blankets for those cool beach evenings. Relaxing on the porch overlooking the water or strolling the beach in front of the lodge, this was a wonderful place to unwind and come home to after exploring Amelia Island!Walkability: It’s on the beach! Plus, easy access to Ft. Clinch and Egan’s Creek trail. Short drive to downtown Fernandina Beach.Food & drinks: Made to order pancakes and those scones have got to be homemade! Yum!

This was a bit pricey compared to some of the other lower hotels, but the service and attention to details makes it worth it. There is a small deck with 5 rocking chairs to watch the ocean from. The rooms are nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable. This is not a new hotel. It is a beautiful old historic looking bed and breakfast and the rooms are what that should have, nice and old school. The bathtub was huge and the soaps smell great. Was perfect for our anniversary. Great place to reconnect.

This was our third time coming in the last 15 years and absolutely the last time! We got put in the other building, old and dingy. Minor problems in the beginning but upon returning from dinner our room was infested with flying ants. Only one person was on duty and she came to look and brought us a can of bug spray. They were getting on the bed and nightstand. There was nothing she could do for us, saying there were no other rooms available. As she was leaving I asked for help with the lock as the deadbolt wasn’t working. She of course had no one there to fix it but assured me the area was safe! I said we would be leaving in the morning. When I checked out I spoke with the manager and she said she was sorry there were no other rooms to move to. I could tell it was full as there were no parking spaces available. I asked for a refund as we had prepaid for three nights. She told us we would have to go through Expedia since that is where we booked from. Expedia later told us they had to get approval from The lodge, and ownership eventually denied it, insisting we were told there were extra rooms, after three different people at the front desk told us there were none. We are out $1150 paying for a room that was unhealthy and unsafe.

Update: After I left my review (below), I received a bizarre email from the owner (Tarah) accusing me of being on "a quest to acquire Google review points." She just proved my point about how unprofessional and odd this place is. I’ve attached a screenshot.----- Original review -----We stayed here and had engagement photos taken (late 2017). Like many other reviews state -- the scenery is nice, but the staff and building were very unclean and unfriendly. Read the lower reviews. After we left, I called the inn to try to tell them they needed to talk with their housekeeping (rather than leave a bad review), but they never answered/called back. This laziness also extends to the building itself -- which is really in need of serious repairs. I love historic buildings, but they're not taking very good care of this one. Our entire floor appeared to have water damage and smelled like mildew -- and it was just plain dirty in some places (bathroom). To add to it, the staff seemed annoyed that the guests even existed. I've stayed in similarly priced historic inns in the area and had an entirely different experience - so I suggest folks look elsewhere. Expect no-frills and "old" interior, not historic.

This place is sea front location. Our room overlooked the sea, and if you opened the window, the sound of the sea was tranquil. There is a bug net on each sash window, which gives you peace of mind for the night. The hotel is for adults only. So if you are looking for peace and quiet, this place is it.There are deck chairs on the beach for hotel guests to use and if you don't want to venture that far out which by the way is very close by there is chairs on the veranda for you to enjoy the sea views. Plenty of parking and a massive lift on the premises.

My grandparents have stayed at the Elizabeth Pointe Lodge before and enjoyed their stay enough to plan a return trip for their anniversary. One day after arrival my grandmother's brother sadly passed away due to an unforeseen accident. They approached the front desk to ask for a refund and she informed my grandparents that she was not willing to refund their stay or any excursions without proof of a death certificate. Are my grandparents really supposed to request a death certificate from her brother's grieving widow? Thank you Elizabeth Pointe Lodge for showing no care, empathy, or emotion towards a family of a fallen veteran.

We had a wonderful stay at the inn. For those who’s are expecting modern rooms, you might want to go somewhere else. The rooms are typical of a nice, clean old style in with very comfortable accommodations. The service was excellent. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The bed were very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. We love the wine time in the afternoon with the oerduerves. The morning breakfast was excellent. Since it was right on the ocean, sitting on the porch in the afternoon with the ocean breezes was so relaxing. We highly recommend this place for a great romantic getaway.Rooms: Very well appointedNearby activities: Sightseeing and town shops and boutiquesFood & drinks: Wine and oer’duerves
