I made a reservation for a rental car to be delivered to a small airport. When I got to the airport, it was not there. I waited thirty minutes. Finally, they called me and said something was wrong with my account.And that's why my car had not been delivered.And I needed to contact hertz corporate. When I contacted hertz corporate after waiting fifteen minutes on hold, They said nothing was wrong with my account. They then told me to contact the local place again.

Awesome little airport open 7 am to 7 pm every day. No problem dropping off rental car I picked up at Jacksonville International Airport. Hertz is always my first choice!

AVOID THIS STORE!!! I called this store before my trip to Jacksonville, Fl to find out if I could drop the car in Fernandina Beach after picking it up from the airport; I am getting a UHaul to go back to NJ so I only needed the rental for 3 days before the UHaul. I called twice and talked to 2 different men. Each one said that it would be no problem; simply to drop off the car to this store when the rental was over.

AVOID THIS STORE!!! I called this store before my trip to Jacksonville, Fl to find out if I could drop the car in Fernandina Beach after picking it up from the airport; I am getting a UHaul to go back to NJ so I only needed the rental for 3 days before the UHaul. I called twice and talked to 2 different men. Each one said that it would be no problem; simply to drop off the car to this store when the rental was over. When I got to the airport and told them that I was going to drop the car in Fernandina Beach, they told me that I could not do this, that I would have to bring it back to the airport (40 minutes away and 40 minutes back to Fernandina Beach, now with no car to get back). The people at the Hertz counter could not help me so I called Hertz and was told that there would be a $180.00 fee if I wanted to drop the car at the store in Fernandina Beach. The entire rental was $180.00!! This morning I called the store (they are closed on Sundays) and spoke to a woman. I explained the situation to her, and she said that she would have to charge the same $180.00 fee that Hertz told me I would have to pay if I wanted to return the car to them instead of the airport. I told the woman about the 2 men in her office that gave me this wrong info, She told me that they should not have told me this. I asked for some kind of help - to cover the Uber I will have to take back from the airport or maybe a ride back from the airport. She was unwilling to do anything to help me. So - I could have gotten any rental at less than half the price of Hertz at the airport if I had known that I would have to drop it back there instead of Fernandina Beach. I only paid more and used Hertz for the convenience of being able to drop it at the store, which turns out to be a lie or misinformation by 2 separate workers at this store who didn't know what they were doing and caused me to pay more for the rental and now more time and money for an Uber back from the airport. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ AND ESPECIALLY DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS STORE. INCOMPETENT WORKERS WITH NO COURTESY OR OFFER OF ASSISTANCE, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR FAULT.

Since my earlier review was removed, and since I continued to be harassed by Hertz, and now its collection agent I will KEEP posting this negative review, until they correct their records. They handed over a car I had rented for a week - to another customer - and never took it out of my name. I was billed $580, and have spent months trying to get them to fix their error. This is now at the point of legal Harassment. Vacationers!! - use Enterprise.

We rented a car from the FBO office during a weeks stay, and returned it before flying out. The Hertz girl, apparently handed the car over to someone else - who drove the car off the island and dumped it in Orlando days later. Six months later, Hertz still has not corrected their records. Repeated calls and letters netted nothing. FBO management (Bryan Echard) was made aware. Still no resolution.
