So I don’t normally put a lot of thought into who I bank with, I want to know my money is safe and accounted for, but ultimately what makes or breaks a bank for me is how they handle customer service when things go sideways and you need a little extra help.I live an hour away from this branch, and when I moved to where I live now, Regions flagged suspicious activity on my account the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and froze my account so I couldn’t log into online banking or use any electronic money transfer services like Venmo or Zelle linked to my account,.I had just opened a new checking account so I didn’t have a debit card yet, so this was kind of a perfect storm of banking problems at just the wrong time. That afternoon I just so happened to get a call from Manning Burns, just calling to see if I had any banking needs. When i explained that I did in fact have banking needs he got my account straightened out within a few minutes and fixed everything so i could get by until my new card arrived.A few months later I lost my debit card a couple days before getting sick with Covid. You know who called once again just to check in and see if I needed help with anything related to my bank account? Manning Burns, he ordered me a replacement debit card and I didn’t have to navigate the website, fill out any forms or anything at a time when I was incapable of walking down stairs without needing a nap.So fast forward to last week when I deposited a check large enough to require a 7 day hold, I wasn’t aware that hold would happen, and I was hoping regions could take a few extra steps to ensure I got that money by the first of the month. I called the regions customer service line and a very polite associate unfortunately couldn’t help me, then I remembered I live in a world in which Manning Burns exists.So this morning I called this branch, and asked for Manning, he was unavailable because he was helping save someone else’s financial future, but he called me back within 8 minutes. When I explained the situation to him, he did not make any empty promises, but he offered to take a stab at this issue, and within about ten minutes the hold was gone and the money was deposited into my account.Manning Burns is the only reason I am still a Regions customer, if he goes I go.
