AHF Pharmacist informed me that they are not allowed to dispense Descovy in the original bottle per AHF policy. One AHF pharmacist stated that there was concern for “fraudulent medication being sold.” Wouldn’t one trust an unopened bottle from the manufacturer more than literally anything else? A different AHF pharmacist told me it was because they were concerned about diversion. (People selling their medication instead of taking it as prescribed, which is illegal) I find both of those claims quite laughable seeings anyone could get their medication filled by a different pharmacy and get the medication in the original manufactured bottle.

AHF Pharmacist informed me that they are not allowed to dispense Descovy in the original bottle per AHF policy. One AHF pharmacist stated that there was concern for "fraudulent medication being sold." Wouldn't one trust an unopened bottle from the manufacturer more than literally anything else? A different AHF pharmacist told me it was because they were concerned about diversion. (People selling their medication instead of taking it as prescribed, which is illegal) I find both of those claims quite laughable seeings anyone could get their medication filled by a different pharmacy and get the medication in the original manufactured bottle. Originally I had requested it to be kept in the original bottle for some of the following reasons: 1.) Original bottle is tremendously smaller than bottles AHF uses. Even their "smallest bottle" is tremendously larger than the manufacturer's bottle. 2.) Original bottle comes with a desiccant. 3.) Pill don't have to be touched by human hands eliminating chances for contamination. 4.) Using original bottle also removes possibility of human error due to counting pills by hand. 3.) Unnecessary waste of plastic, money, and staff's time. For these reasons and others, I transferred my prescription to Publix. I was surprised to read on the manufacturer label the following, "Dispense only in original container" and yet again on the Publix Rx, attached to the bottle, a warning that states, "WARNING: TO PREVENT LOSS OF EFFECT, KEEP DRUG IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, CLOSE TIGHTLY RIGHT AWAY AFTER EACH USE." I work in the healthcare industry and I find it very odd that your pharmacy would not adhere to manufacture recommendations! I would strongly urge you to reconsider your policy. Until then, I will not be filling with your pharmacy.

Super friendly staff and clean nice waiting area. The only downside is the huge wait times but you can leave once you've gotten your number in line and come back after a couple hrs or wait in your car more comfortably or whatever. For free testing can't really ask for more imo

This is a great place to go for testing (HIV and STD). It's recommended to me that I be tested every three months, and here it's free, so why not? I usually go on Friday afternoons, which might not be the best time. It usually takes about two hours to get in and out. That seems like a bit of a long time to me. But if I went to one of the pay labs, it could take just as long. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and safe. That aspect is fine. I don't like that the computer screen is out in the open and when you log in it asks for your Social Security number. Not that I mind giving it, but it's not shielded well enough to keep it private. AHF should know better.

I walked in today to get my meds , at the desk I was told to take a call from another location because they needed to verify insurance . The receptionist started helping someone in line while I'm standing right in front of her with a phone just confirming info which took about 12 Seconds after I have personal information and meds requesting . I asked the receptionist to take care of my Cade and finish it and she continued to ring up the other person. I am a healthcare professional and to see dismissal as well as HIPPA law violations is completely unacceptable . I would rate 0 stars if I could

This place is honestly great. Aside from the obvious best part, free HIV and STD testing, the staff is always super nice and personable. No appointment is needed to get tested. Wait times are typically not unbearable depending on when you go, but plan accordingly. It is also super convenient and safe to receive your results if you create an account with Healthvana, which is an app available for download right on your smart phone. This allows for easy access to your results at any point no matter where you are. I would definitely recommend coming here to get tested. Be safe and responsible and get tested at least every 3-6 months.

Got here at 11:30 and I'm still waiting and it's 3:25 pm. Everybody was irate and tense due to the lack of movement and how backed up this place was. I was not trying to be as impatient but man that was hard. After 3 hours pass they call my number and tell me to sit in a smaller waiting room. 40 minutes pass and I still haven't been called, so I start to get flustered, I ask the lady why I haven't been called, she responds that somebody will call me from another room and asks no further questions, I felt as if I wasn't going to be helped at all. Another gentleman walks and asks for people and as I ask him about my situation he tells me to hold on that he will check. Ultimately they "lost" my paperwork, It's been 4 hours and now I am livid. If you can muster the patience then be my guest, but this was cruel. Although the testing is free, you pay with hours of your time wasted, while surrounded by equally pissed off people.
