I have been coming to this place for over 7 years, and the quality of service from the Vet has gone completely downhill. The overall experience at this Vet is a complete disappointment. The doc makes you feel like a complete stranger every time you speak to him, and sometimes I wonder why he's even a vet because he shows no passion for his work and makes you feel like your pet is just a paycheck to him.

Very bad treatment, I went to ask for information and the man at the reception was very rude and had a very bad manner, the woman who worked before was very friendly. They need to change it.

PLEASE DO NOT GO , ITS NOT BUSY FOR A REASON . THE BLONDE CAT LADY IS THE WORST WHEN IT COMES TO EXAMINING YOUR PET . SHE WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING JUST FOR YOU TO SPEND MONEY. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. I BROUGHT MY DOG SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY NEVER HAVE A LOGIC ANSWER. I DON’T KNOW WHETHER SHE JUST TREATS DOGS LIKE THAT JUST BECAUSE SHE’S A CAT LADY BUT THEY ARE A SCAM . Please listen to me when I say this I am never quick to write a bad review, but I’m trying to save people from coming in and spending their money and trying to help their pet and get no answer.

Today, I had a terrible experience with Dr. Javier Gonzalez. I work in restaurants and it has been a rough season financially. My dog Russo had his annual check up today. Before the visit I asked to take the heart worm pills off and the rabies tag, for I wanted to do it later when I am in a better position financially. The nurses were very nice and worked with me. When Dr. Gonzalez entered the room he was angry. He started asking me questions in a condescending voice. Throughout the visit he was very rude. This will be my last visit at Fort Lauderdale vet.

Dr. Gonzalez has been a well known Vet for our family pets, did multiple surgeries for multiple of our dogs. Around 30,000 thousand dollars later, we chose to refuse blood work for one of our older dogs. Just because of that Dr. Gonzalez requested we leave, Sure no problem! fast forward to today. We made an emergency visit for our dog, who has a giant hole in his leg from an abscess. On our way there we get a call stating Dr. Gonzalez refuses to see our dog because we refused blood work one time, when we needed a refill on an anti inflammatory for our dog.. I’m sorry, WHAT?! He couldn’t get a couple more hundred dollars from drawing labs ONE visit, he wants to refuse care? As someone in the medical field, I believe we have a right to refuse any lab we do not want done. Beauty of America am I right? I am sorry but when you take an oath to treat animals, you do your damn job. I’m sure this emergency visit would of made up for the money you would of made for that blood work. Dr. Gonzalez, I hope animal lovers like myself read this and take all of there animals to a Vet that is passionate, and loves there job because clearly all it is to you is a paycheck.

Wouldn't recommend, disappointed in this veterinary center. Dr Gonzalez knew my dog very well. Unfortunately, when I took him in for a vet visit, he suggested I did annual blood work. I advised that I felt like it wasn't needed. He refused to see my dog since I wouldn't get the bloodwork done and spend the money. I have the right as the parent of my pet to respectfully decline. I had to see another vet and requested my dog's paperwork from this center. I then had an emergency and put aside the situation for what was in best interest of my dog. Made an appointment and then 30 minutes before my appointment, they called me saying they are refusing to take care of my dog, because I refused bloodwork or the "last incident." He should put his pride aside and respect the decision of his customers that decline any treatment where they didn't feel was needed or wanted. But instead, he declined a pet emergency. Wouldn't recommend, go somewhere else where they put your pets first and not try to force any treatment that you dont deem necessary.

In January of 2023 my Wife and I were told that our baby Ivory had 3 months to live. Then they told us that we needed to bring him to a vet close to home so that he could get treatment every 3 days. We then brought Ivory to Dr. Javier. The staff was so caring and compassionate and he loved seeing them. During the initial exam and 1st treatment they took blood. Dr. Javier called us and told us that even after his treatment his kidney levels got worse. He told us we could continue the Treatment as recommended by the Vet Hospital however its hard on his heart and his body and he would probably pass in a few weeks. We decide to just love him and make him comfortable at home until he passed. We lost Ivory 3 months later the day before the terrible flood. I can not say enough about Ft. Lauderdale Veterinary Center. Dr. Javier put Ivory's comfort and pain over his profits. I truly admire his love for pets over money. This Center is simply amazing. Thank you Dr. Javier for being so caring.

I don't understand the negative reviews, the entire staff and Doctor are so kind and caring. Helped me through my senior cats end of life care until the day she needed to leave the earth. I entrust them with my new kitten with everything. Never a bad experience, excessive charges or treatment recommendations. My new kitten doesn't't fuss at all going into the carrier knowing he is going there (the only place he has ever been in a carrier) a true testament to the care.

I’d give 0 stars if I can. Very rude Dr. I brought my cat in for a UTI & was told to call back there’s no progress. When i called back the Lady on front desk confirmed nothing was done for my animal. Filed a claim with my bank & the doctor NOW calls backafter I asked to speak to him multiple times prior. A month later!!! Laughed at me over the phone, spoke over me & hung up on me when I had demanded to speak. Report to the city, take your animals somewhere else!!! Malpractice for profit! Had to spend another couple hundred to take my cat elsewhere!

Dr misread the X-ray. Charged for the X-ray. Told me to get an ultra sound both showed nothing. Scam upsell. Worst bedside manner ever. Showed me another dogs X-ray with tumors. Inappropriate. Argumentative, and rude.Expensive, and got no where for $1000.

The furbaby's first visit to the "other family doctor". Caring, efficient service in a clean, happy atmosphere. Thank you.

Absolutely the worst veterinarian experience I have ever encountered. The doctor was arrogant and rude. He told me to put the dog down that was three years ago. My dog is still alive after receiving treatment at another facility. It took me three years to write this review but my memory of this place has lasted obviously much longer.I would never return nor would I ever recommend Fort Lauderdale Veterinary. Don’t walk away - run away from this place

The staff at the front desk were wonderful. I think perhaps they were both veterinary assistants and functioning as front desk staff. Either way, they were super friendly and welcoming. They treated my cat so kindly and seemed to generally like interacting with her. The vet was quick and efficient. No complaints!
