Because my partner travels a lot internationally for business, we have seen our fair share of hotel rooms. He normally chooses hotels with great reviews and rated as 4 star. However, aside from the fantastic location of this hotel, we were quite underwhelmed.
Upon check in, I opened the curtains to a beautiful view, but also found a hanger on the floor behind the chair. It made me wonder how well the room was cleaned before we arrived. I didn't think much of it though until our 3rd day, when my partner almost stepped on a piece of glass near one of the night tables. We didn't have any glass in our room at all so where did that come from? Service from the housekeeping staff was very slow and not consistent. By 5pm one day I had to ask the front desk for new towels. Hot water for the showers took 30+ minutes in the morning.
Bar and wait staff were very friendly but obviously struggling to keep up, being understaffed. Many items on the breakfast menu were not available, limiting choices. They cited a menu transition but over the course of the 7 days we were here, we did not see any changes.
Shout out to Sean for his friendly energetic personality, always saying hello and striking up conversation!
I think this hotel could be so much more, but we would hesitate to stay here again.

Absolutely loved everything about this place except for the pool area. The pool area needs some renovation it's not all that great but the rest of the place is awesome!
Rooms: We had an Oceanfront room with a big balcony absolutely gorgeous! Go big or go home!

This was a nice hotel in Fort Lauderdale. I wish I could rate it higher but due to the cleanliness of the room I cannot. The good stuff: hotel is beautiful, awesome view, good location, friendly staff, etc.
However the second I walked into the room my allergies flared up. The carpet was dusty and the phones/tvs everything had a whole layer of dust. Idk when was the last time that room was deep cleaned. The view was beautiful from the room but the windows were filthy.
The shower was nice and spacious but again could use a deep cleaning. Overall I feel like this hotel is for superficial views and doesn't take the time to provide top notch cleanliness which is important to me. I'm 50/50 on whether or not I would stay here again..

Terrible Customer Service – Ruined Our Anniversary
I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. Upon arrival, I realized I had mistakenly booked the wrong date for our stay—on our 11th wedding anniversary. We spent only a few minutes in the lobby before deciding to leave, as we could not stay.
When we requested a refund for the $50 parking fee, since we had not even used the hotel services or stayed overnight, they refused to return it. It felt completely unfair, considering we were there for just a short time and never checked in.
This lack of flexibility and poor customer service left a really bad impression. I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you’re expecting fair treatment and decent hospitality. Very disappointing!

I’m writing this review after just checking out, so details are still fresh in my mind. This is information I was looking for ahead of time, so I help it hopes those who are considering this hotel.
Check in: Smooth as can be via the Uber drop off at the valet roundabout. Sean greeted us with a warm welcome, brought our bags up to the room, and gave us a few tidbits of information (pool hours, key card access within elevators, etc).
Beach access: this hotel location is great. You cross a two-lane (one way) street to get to the beach area. We didn’t know this before arriving, but the beach service sets up the lounge chairs and umbrellas around 9am (aiming to get all items set up by 9:30). They also give you towels. If you traveled to this hotel with kids (like we did) the front desk also has beach toys and boogey boards you can access just by giving them your room number for you to “rent” the items (free).
Nearby: upon arrival to the hotel, we did not Uber away from the area and walked to the open air restaurants nearby. There was also a CVS within walking distance. Our kids enjoyed the playground right next to the hotel, so that was a plus.
Room: we had a marina view room, and it was fun to watch the boats/yachts come and go below, and also was nice to see the skyline at night. The marina view rooms overlook the Swimming Hall of Fame, and it was fun to watch those of whom dove off the high dive platforms.
Pool: great pool with plenty of towels and chairs. It had three cabana style covered loungers that were first come first serve. There is also a pool-side bar if that interests you. Morning yoga takes place on one side of the pool deck.
I saw a lot of people saying that Coconuts was a “must try” nearby restaurant to this hotel, and it’s right next to the Swimming Hall of Fame. Less than a 5 minute walk, and worth the wait! Be prepared to be put on a waitlist if you go for dinner… we had wait times of 1.5hrs (we didn’t stay) and then tried two nights later and it was a 45 minute wait. Amazing food and marina view if you sit outside! Lobster roll was packed & delicious!
10/10 would recommend this hotel again. For the views, the location, and the hospitality.

Rooms: The room wasn’t cleaned properly. Not even vacuumed. There was crumbs all over. Used eyelashes stick on carpet which later got stuck on the bottom of my foot. Gross. No hair dryer in room, around the mattress was also not the cleanest. Not satisfied tbh. The view was awesome. Walls are thin. You can hear everything in next room.

Nothing special - fine property but pretty mid level - feels like a dressed up Hampton Inn. Front desk was checked out and housekeeping doing the bare minimum.
Safety: Fine
Walkability: Low
Food and drinks: Meh

This was a perfect hotel for our adult couple getaway. First off the location is outstanding with immediate access to the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful (special shout out to Sean). The rooms are clean and the views are incredible. We had an ocean view so we could sit on the balcony and see the ocean and the marina. It's a very relaxed feel, nobody bugs you but are always around should you have a question. A walk up A1A to the Elbo Room is a Fort Lauderdale must do, enjoy, we did!

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Maren for our baby-moon back in December. We are so glad we chose this location; it is beautiful! Super clean, modern, and convenient! The hotel staff is top-notch (shout out to Sean who helped check us in and answered any questions we had). The on-site restaurant, Rivera, has amazing breakfast. I highly recommend their breakfast egg rolls!
Also, you can’t beat the location! I love how it’s situated near the end of the strip and tucked away but still near everything, as well. The pool is also super nice and has a great view!
If we ever visit Fort Lauderdale again, we will definitely stay at Hotel Maren!

We had a great stay at Hotel Maren over spring break in 2024. We had a city/marina view room where we could also watch people doing platform dives and synchronized swimming at the Swimming Museum.
Our rooms were well appointed and the rooftop swimming pool with cabana bar was a great way to end our days. There are a lot of shops and dining options within easy walking distance.
There is no on site self parking and it did cost $50/day for them to store our vehicle.
I would definitely stay here again if given the chance.
