Our plane was late and by the time we got to the Payless counter, it was closed. But the sign pointed us next door to the Avis counter. The lady there was great and got us through all the paperwork in just a short time. Returning the car was also very easy and the bill was just as expected. Could not have been any better!

The line was short perhaps bc they read prior reviews. My representative needed to wait for the Payless terminal but it was seamless. My experience was good and the representative was sharp and friendly. My car was nice I even got a compliment from a stranger at my condo.

I loved everything since my booking until the pick up with the lady at the front desk. She was very rude and with bad attitude. I asked simple question like how are you and she was mean and rude. Will I go back again yes, because price and cars are well maintained but If I see that lady. I will immediately cancel and walk away. Definitely need a better customer service.

Would NEVER use again. They should be reported! Their cars are UNSAFE. COMPLETELY BALD TIRES, engine lights, tire lights, no oil! I have video to prove this. I had to return car bc tires completely bald and didn’t know until a gentleman pointed out to me at a gas station while I was putting air in tires bc that light showed no air also. I took back to exchange car and the exchange car- BALD TIRES ALSO and warning lights in car. I was there for 2 hours. ( I can prove that as well)Finally got into another mini van and guess what? AC not working on drivers side. NOONE answers any phone, they don’t give a damn, the only thing they say is when you book on Expedia is “READ THE AGREEMENT” their famous slogan. Apparently when you book on Expedia their prices show soo much less until you get to pick up your car and EVERYTHING CHANGES! I brought my ez pass from home to use and I couldn’t bc they say they have the tag built into car already. So their menu on wall shows charges per day if you choose to buy their toll plan but when I said I have my own I got charged for it anyways bc guess why? IT WAS IN THE AGREEMENT! Their famous words. They DEFINITELY NEED TO BE REPORTED TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU and transportation safety board. The MOST AWFUL, LOW CLASS, DIRTY, DISGUSTING, BROKEN DOWN CARS, RIP OFF PLACE POSSIBLE!! I had no choice in end bc I had to leave and after taking car service to enterprise in hopes of rescue, they didn’t have a car available. I wish they did. By the way- no vehicle handbook in the car to be found anywhere. ABSOLUTELY WASTE OF SO MUCH TIME!! And I have videos to prove it all. ALSO TIRES ON CARS- never heard of the tire companies in my life! They probably are built for bicycles not cars. This company is TRULY NEGLIGENT! Manslaughter I’m sure!! Someone will get hurt badly! STAY AWAY FROM PAYLESS RENTAL CAR!! ALL OF THEM!

I was forced to wait in the Avis line to pick up the Payless car. By the time it was my turn, the Payless clerk had left and I had to wait another 20 minutes for an Avis clerk to use the Payless counter to process my reservation. It took close to 1 hour and 15 minutes after my arrival to payless counter until my reservation was processed.

Renting a car is sometimes a hassle. When I came to the Payless counter the guy was very helpful and made it easy to get the car. I was out in less than 5 minutes.

I would not recommend using Payless. Their website is horrible and support is even horrible. I prepaid for the car (four months in advance) and then post rental I was charged more than double the promised rental amount and a bunch a incorrect charges. The car was very good and the staff during pick up was very polite and helpful.

We rented a car from Payless in Fort Lauderdale, then dropped it off in Orlando, and had a great experience. When we arrived, we found out that the guy working the Payless counter (Michael) had to wait two hours for us after his second to last vehicle check out, as we were his last of the night and were scheduled to get our car two hours after his second to last person. And Michael was still there anyway, working with a smile on his face!!In addition to the professional customer service, our rental car vehicle was smooth and drove very nicely.If I was in need of a car rental again in Fort Lauderdale, I would do business with Payless again.

Payless could Care LessLazy staff at checking zero urgency acknowledging people waiting. They leave you at the counter in the middle of a rental with no excuse me I’ll be right back. They just walk away maybe it’s break who knows ??♂️Then after returning they check it over all fine but then get a gas charge for like 3 gallons plus surcharge. What how was I to know I was 3 galling light!?

They tried to charge an extra $130.00 charge on my CC for an upgrade in a vehicle that I didn't ask for. When I saw the charge, I immediately called and informed her I didn't understand why I was charged an additional $130.00."I was told that the car I chose was no longer available, so they did an upgrade." OH! REALLY!!! ON WHO'S DIME ? If that was the case, I should've been informed at the reservation counter during checkout and further more if an upgrade was done. It's at your cost, not mine. Thank you, but I didn't ask for that.I was supposed to be informed before anything. Put my money back on the card, please, and thank you.Pay attention to your receipts, people.

I rent via Expedia and was charge extra when I deliver the car, so be careful with extra offers when you pick the car, ask for a detailed receipt of what is been charge to your card, even if the teller tells you it would be refund. the car was ok, but had ac issues from time to time. After a lot of communications and showing that I already pay for insurance (with Expedia) and I fill up the gas tank (send receipt) I was refund.

Not happy that the car had excessive mileage and the tires were thread bare. Thank goodness we did not get caught in a major rainfall. Would not rent from Payless again.
