The staff are not busy but believe they are and take their time to assist customers. The computer system is very slow per the staff. If you’re in a hurry come back later! I rarely see customers in there umm…

Opening an account online is very difficult I require several days of back and forth. When I go to the local bank they are very busy no. You're shorthanded, they have no tellers, and the drive through windows are closed indefinitely. Things are a mess.

In my 65 years, the experience I had with the TIAA Bank Customer Service staff was the worst to date! Short version: I Had to liquidate part of a CD 4 months prior to maturity due to a health emergency. Upon chatting with customer service early on, I was told the early withdrawal penalty would be waived under the circumstances. After the partial liquidation of the cd, I learned that the penalty amount of approximately $1200 was in fact deducted from my account! I called customer service and was now being told by multiple indifferent agents who appeared to be preoccupied with making negative notes on my account... that there is no exceptions for early withdrawal penalties. I followed up with a supervisor and was told to go to my local branch and it was up to the discretion of the branch manager. I went to the TIAA Branch in Fort Lauderdale Florida and the customer service there was horrendous... worse than what I experienced on the phone. Personal banker 'Ruda' assisted me and her name says it all. Next spoke to Michael and his service was just as bad and seemed bothered to even talk to me. For 2 weeks, I was told the branch manager 'Ms Kaplan' would be the only one who could help me however she is never in the branch and her two staff members are constantly making excuses for why she is never available. Finally spoke to Manager 'Ash Presley' at corporate, aside from this individual sounding and acting like he was 12 years old, and offering a canned disingenuous apology, he continued the banks pattern of having a smug, condescending attitude and showed absolutely no compassion or sympathy for what I had experience with prior staff members. In spite of trying to explain to Ash that after 2 months of being the victim of misinformation from the bank he had the nerve to tell me in a very unprofessional way that he 'had the power to wave the penalty, but wouldn't'. This was very upsetting due to the fact that he came into this matter in the 11th hour and did not appear to have all the history of what I had experienced and what I had been told by the two reps that did in fact tell me my penalty would in fact be waved which was what I based my decision on. I cannot wait for the remainder of my cd to mature so I can exit this bank permanently. This is my first review and I will continue to share my experience in other forums as well.

I had a bad experience with their mortgage department. I was a good customer for 5 yrs and decided to refinance with them. I spoke with a mortgage specialist Zachary. He promised me a good rate at 3.7 I believe. We spoke for an hour an said he would send me an loan estimate . That was Saturday on Monday I did not hear from him and then I finally I got to talk to him. He said he could not give the rate and then it went up to 4.30. I was upset I was a good customer and I couldn't believe this bank could not honor it. And he never followed up. I left this bank who was incompetent and went to a credit union. He was the worst employee who lied and just talked a bunch of BS. Like a car salesman. It's all about money and not even keeping loyal customers. Do not use them for mortgage services or refinancing. They are are useless

I have been banking here since they were Ever Bank. The associates are very friendly and professional. The branch has a very upscale feel to it. Confortable chairs for the customers and chic wood desks for the employees. It is a small branch, but I have always been assisted quickly. The one downside is they do not have many physical branches in South Florida. The closest branch is about a 45-minute drive for me. So, I rarely come here. But when I do, I grab a delicious cookie and coffee if I am in the mood for it. They have a Keurig machine with lots of varieties of coffees and teas. The cookies are outstanding. Almost worth the drive just for those. Haha

Have been to this bank two times in the past month for two different projects. I dealt with Marlee both times and was totally blown away by her professionalism, courtesy, warmth and just the right amount of humor! I find banking boring a little intimidating (due to handing over my money to strangers) and she allowed me to leave the bank on both occasions with confidence and a smile. Thank you Marlee and TIAA keep a good eye on my money, I worked hard for it! Peggy

We have used Everbank as our bank since 2001 when we lived in a different part of the state and had no local branches.
