Sold a brake pedal switch stopper kit to my family as "universal" which resulted in complete front brake system failure that could have killed someone had it not been caught when it was. I'm talking bright orange, glowing/smoking rotors and NO BRAKES. Fire hazard. Life threatening. Thousands in damages. All over a small piece of plastic.
Since bringing it to their attention, I've been told "that's just not possible" or it's the fault of the person that installed it for not "making it work". Which one is it??
Do NOT buy ANYTHING for your brakes that is claimed to be "UNIVERSAL". They have denied any responsibility.
All I wanted was for this to be corrected.
It is not just this store doing it, either. Ive confirmed multiple stores do this. I'm not upset with one individual, I'm upset as a whole.
Risking lives and looking the other way instead of not making a $10 profit on the incorrect part, and being told to "it will fit" or "most people make it work" is negligent and risking lives.
They did not check their system to see that they do not sell the right stopper for the vehicle it was needed for. They just walked to the shelf, pulled a box that said Honda, and promised it would fit, labeling it "universal".
This is a business that sells to teens, DIYers, professionals, your grandma and your children.
They have resulted in just not talking to me anymore instead of correcting this problem. I've been laughed at and hung up on by the district manager, and the regional hasn't had the decency to even call me at all.
I don't think they're taking me seriously a an ASE certified technician who has also had it confirmed by a dealership and multiple master technicians with over 20 years in the business.
We all learn new things all the time in this industry. They aren't willing to learn off my word and a diagnosis, so I'm left with only being able to leave bad reviews. Because their buddies at tires choice said it wasn't possible, which is also incorrect.
There is no such thing as a "universal stopper kit". Stop selling it as one.

I am posting this review for my husband, who was just in there! First off he is Not a Complainer so I know it was bad! After being in there finding everything he needed except the wheel bearing (which you get from the counter) he needed one more thing. He said he asked a lil Spanish kid for help. Asked him if they had the part and the kid right away said No. So my husband said he kept looking and did find that they had what he was looking for he told the kid this is what I need but a certain size. He said he forgot his glasses so he couldn’t see the small print or he would of got it himself! As he was looking The Spanish kid said sir your gonna have to go stand in line and have someone help you! My husband was like what?? He said I gotta go to lunch right now! So my husband said he just dropped all of his stuff and told them as he was leaving he will Never shop here again!!! So with what he had in his hands and he still needed to get a $230.00 Truck Bearing they lost a good $300 sale!!!! Not to mention he is a Diesel mechanic so they lost a good customer!!! How Rude!!! Seriously Autozone can’t you train your people what customer service is??? So he went over to Advanced and had a Much better experience!! Also Awesome Customer Service!!!

My vehicle needed to be jumped all day to start and since I purchased my battery here, I came to get it tested. Karen came and helped me right away. She tested the battery and replaced it free of charge since it was still under warranty .The whole encounter took about 5 minutes. I Just wanted to say thank you Karen for your quality service and professionalism.

I have never ever had such a worse experience before. I went in a month ago to get a new car battery, Augie the guy replacing it seemed like he knew what he was doing. Ultimately he put the car battery in the wrong way and blew out everything in my car. Nothing was working! The air conditioning, the windshield wipers, the radio, and couldn’t even turn the wheel. Since this happened I had to work with the manager, Karen. I have never met someone so rude in my whole entire life. After doing damage to my car she told me “attitude is not going to get me anywhere” after being upset over my broken car. They were able to get my car to a mechanic which ended up being towed to the Volkswagen dealership because it was way out of the mechanics hands. My car was at Volkswagen for a month and had $5,000 worth of damages. After getting my dad involved they agreed to pay for it and the rental car that costed $2,000. My car was fixed a week ago and Autozone said they sent out the “overnight” check last Thursday. It ended up getting to my house on the following Tuesday. I checked in with Karen twice over the weekend and told me I was harassing her and blocked my phone number. Thankfully everything was paid for but the manager Karen should not have a job and should not be working with customers for the way she speaks to them. I have never been so disrespected by someone than I have by Karen. NEVER EVER COME HERE!!!!!

My battery died in my driveway on a Friday night. My neighbor helped me jump the car and told me “don’t stop, go straight to Autozone”. Great advice!. Store Manager Karen Gomez greeted me right away. She came out, checked my battery and hooked me up with a new one at a reasonable price. Rafael installed the new battery right there in the parking lot and I was on my way in minutes. Fantastic service!
