Called to schedule cat groom. They need records of updated shots. Sent them. Then they said they would contact me for appointment. Two weeks go by. Never heard from them. (Incompetent). So I call and they said ...Your appointment was two weeks ago! I I was never told, text or emailed of this. Regardless, I then schedule. Was told $95 for a cat grooming. ...that's JUST a bath and nail trim. IF she has to cut ANY hair they want to add $20.? Absolute BS! They LOOK for ways to charge extra! I took my cat and left. Not into stupid up charging that they try to do! DON'T BOTHER COMING HERE.... UPDATE....I called to speak to them as they asked. Left message and no response! THEY ARE HORRIBLE! AND COULDN"T CARE LESS!!!!

My husband took our 18 year old cat , Joey there for a sinus infection. Staff was very attentive and it's close to home . They also have limited Saturday hours. Receptionist was super nice in setting up follow up appointment. Anyone who has cats knows that car rides and vet appointments are traumatic but Best Friends made it just a little bit easier. Then my two young cats hissed at him when he came home because he smelled like the vet's office. A can of food later and they're over it and of course they wanted the goody bag of treats he came home with.

Best Friends Animal Hospital in Gateway: We had a HORRIBLE experience at this veterinarian's office today. Our dog was scheduled to be fixed today and we dropped her off at 7:30. THis is an emotional procedure for any animal lover so you expect the vets office to act with compassion. We had heard nothing and it was 1:45 and i finally called. Bella, our puppy, had not even had the procedure started yet. They gave us every excuse under the sun. Not one staff member had called us to let us know surgery was running behind, NOTHING! At 1:45 when I called for a status update they said they were getting her prepped and she was about to go back. I drove there at 2:15 and she was still not taken back for surgery yet. She has been in a cage there from 7:30 to 2:30 today with no food, water, nothing. I spoke with the manager and asked to speak to the vet. THe vet refused to speak with me. At 2:45 they bring out Bella and the vet refused to do the surgery. She said it was the timing of the day and mentioned the client/vet relationship was not good at that moment. They close at 6 so there was no way they could have done it after 2:30 pm. No one there seemed to care. We had our traveling and everything connected to Bella's surgery date. It was critical she got fixed today. We were promised this morning that one aggressive puppy was before ours and then she would be next (that was at 7:30 on the am). 1:45 and she is still not prepped yet, no call, no update no nothing. AFter I stopped in to see what the heck was going, I waited to speak with a manager and the vet and that took another 45 minutes just to speak to them, meanwhile we are eating up precious time because they closed in 3.5 hours. It was a visiting vet just to be fare, but how can a vet keep our dog for 7 hours then decide she is not going to fix her. There was no compassion, no care, with a vet that did not have the balls to speak with me. I would think twice before you take your animal to Best Friends Animal Hospital in Gateway. We now start from square one with a new vet as I will never go back there again with the cluster they put us through for NOTHING! Edit: to be fair to Best, Friends Animal Hospital I want to make it clear that this was not Dr. George that did this to us and Bella yesterday at the clinic. It was a visiting/fill in vet. I want to be sure I make that clear so I don't give a bad rap to Dr. George as I know it was out of her control. I also want to add that Cindy, the business manager was very understanding and apologetic, and she handled it very well can use to handle it well this morning.

This was my first and last time going to Best friends animal Hospital. I got there about 15 minutes early. The front staff and vet techs were fine. The walls are paper thin so the whole time I was in my assigned room I can hear dogs crying and barking which made my puppy nervous. The doctor came in about 20 minutes late for my appointment and was terribly rude. I had brought in paperwork from my adoption and an old bottle of medication they had given me for my dogs spay surgery. As soon as the doctor saw the bottle she said "I'm not refilling that." I explained that I brought it in so that she knew what medications the dog had previously taken and she repeated "I'm not refilling that" I'm not exactly sure what she was implying by stating that. I never asked for those drugs to be refilled which I explained to her. She later asked me to see the dogs stomach and when I rolled her over she said "Well that's one way to do it." She kept making rude and condescending comments like this all through out our appointment. Bottom line there's hundreds of vets in the area and I don't have to deal with anyone's bad attitude or rude comments. I'm perfectly fine with giving my money to anyone else. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone.

Staff here are crazy anti-vaccine and anti-mask covid sickos. Check it out on the sorry antivaxxer website. Remember animals can get covid too! Thank you for your below response. In all honesty, how can anyone trust a business where their employees believe that you can get Covid from over the phone...since your employees believe this, I do not see how they would follow any of the Covid procedural business policies.

Dr. Gross is excellent, Jackie is very knowledgeable and helpful, Lorie is awesome and the rest of the staff is great. I would definitely recommend them for any needs your pet might have. ?

I should of read the reviews prior to establishing vet care there. I had my dog boarded and groomed and was told the groomer will call me before she starts grooming my dog, needless to say she didn't call! I called her at 8:45 am and she said oh I already groomed her. She shaves my dog down and left red marks on her belly from being shaved to low with the clippers. She said next time I will call. I told the front office staff and they chuckled and said oh the groomer told us. I felt stupid trying to explain my irritation to people who laugh in your face. The boarding and grooming for two days was $300, what a waste of my money, and no care for My pet.

The technician and the veterinarian both were warm and friendly, as well very professional. They also were very kind and gentle with our dog. We will definitely return with our precious fur baby.

My dog got attacked at a dog park and for months my dogs eye was not getting any better. I took her here and they said there no way 4 weeks after the attack that my dog could have an infection. My dog was never put on antibiotics. the vet insisted it was a bee problem. after many trips for the same issue. I decided to go to another vet who placed my dog on oral antibiotics and told me it was from the attack. When I called this vet to say I was going to get another opinion they asked if I fixed me bee problem. (I don't have a bee problem). i don't like writing bad reviews but my dog suffered for months.

I couldn't agree more with the people who have had horrible experiences at Best Friend's Vet in Gateway. Over the years, I had recommended people to them of which non still go there due to their own bad experiences. I hear from many others about their similar experiences and won't go there. They have officially gone on our DO NOT USE list after years of attempts/communication with them expressing my feelings. They only had 1 good Dr. who didn't stay long. They are rude, no customer service, take tons of your time, worry about the bill before even seeing your animal and not compassionate at all with your pets. Not to mention, we have had a handful of situations where they are so confused which dog they are even seeing at the time and are rude about it when you bring it to your attention. On top of that, I used to use their groomer of which one of them totally shaved all the hair off my pups when she had specific instructions NOT to do so-with witnesses there. They get an attitude with you when you bring it all to their attention-their response was taking away our multi-animal discount (which wasn't much considering all the money I have paid them over the years). Save yourself the hassle-don't take your loving furry friend(s) there.

I will never bring my dogs back here again. They refused to see her knowing she had an active infection. The ratings just keep going down for this place and I see why!

There is NO excusable reason to refuse to see a dog who has an active wound infection. The vet and the tech didn't even want to come outside to eyeball her. You guys made me make arrangements to take time off from work. Drive 30 minutes to bring her and as I was in the parking lot the appt gets cancelled because she was not given sedation medication. All your vet had to do was EYEBALL her hip which has a visible infection. No manipulation was needed. Then add injury to insult you guys didn't even bother to try to squeeze her into an appt for today at least. You expect her to wait until Monday crying in pain. I explained this to the vet tech and yet still NO ONE bothered to come outside and talk to me face to face. This is DENIAL of care and DELAY of care! You can be SUED for this! I am an RN & this is unacceptable to any living being especially an innocent dog!!

This place is a great example of what happens when an animal hospital is motivated purely by profit. The place is staffed with incompetent employees and doctors, with no compassion for the animals there or their owners. I wish I could leave zero stars. Avoid this place at all costs.

They don't do their jobs, simple as that. When a customer has a concern, address it, im mean it is our animals. Instead they tell us there's no issue, just to find out later that day that it was an issue. Not to mention could have possibly caused me to lose my animal sooner.

The care and compassion the staff showed towards me and my pet was extremely impressive. I was very happy with my experience. Highly recommend!
