On Thursday, February 22, 2024, to patronize a small business, I dropped off my Leatherman Wave multi-tool. While there I met a Vietnam veteran and paid for his nuts and bolts along with a magnetic grabber and the sharpening service for my Leatherman straight blade.Jim called me on Saturday, February 24, 2024, to ask about my request to even up the edge. He said he'd probably have it finished that day.I called on Monday, February 26, 2024, to inquire about the multi-tool. Some man told me it wasn't finished. Called yesterday, February 27, 2024, to inquire once again. I was again told it was not ready, so I told the man I'd just pick it up.I came in, returned the grabber because I found mine, and picked up my Leatherman. As I was driving back to my warehouse I stopped at a traffic light and decided to check the blade to see what would be necessary for me to do the job myself. I was shocked to see the knife's condition.I spoke with the "owner" on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. He told me Jim said he hadn't touched my Leatherman and basically called me a liar implying it was dropped off in that condition. Told him we'd take it up in small claims court. Not more than an hour ago I received an email from Melissa who works at Tropical Hardware stating that they finally talked to Jim, and he said he had started to work on the tool. So the "owner" lied to me, called me a liar, and told me "You're the first person to ever complain."Of course, they offered to finish the job, in order to save face, but they didn't offer to do it this morning while disputing my honesty with a lie.No way I'd walk into this store again.

One of the last old-fashioned hardware stores where the people working there actually know where everything is located and what tools you may need for your project. It would be great if all Home Depot locations were replaced with stores like this!

Went in there last week. I like to support small businesses when I can, and this place is an excellent example why. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The selection was a little overwhelming, and more than what I expected from such a small shop, but the staff helped me find exactly what I needed and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place.

This store has a great inventory, super polite and professional staff and the prices are unbelievable low. Everytime I bought from them I had a pleasure experience and the items I got had the same price as Home Depot, with a better customer service from the employees. I definitely recommend this business!

I brought in four pair of my garden pruners. Three we're of value and one, not so much. He first said that he didn't think he could sharpen them then he said, let me try. That should tell you what kind of shape they were in. He only charged me $4.50 a pair. I picked them up and I did some gardening/pruning today. Oh my!!! They don't look like the day I bought them but they certainly cut like they did! I couldn't be happier and I can't sing the man who sharpened them, praises enough. Get your blades sharpened here.Thank you Tropical Hardware!!?
