i've had to bring my two cats there A couple of times. The staff attended to the situations in a professional , courteous and fast manner. The medication was twice the cost I would Pay if I was ordering it online, but given it was an emergency situation, she was able to be treated that same day instead of me waiting for a necessary medication delivery in the mail. I think some of the reviewers forget to consider this is an emergency room. and just like human emergency care, it is generally more costly. That said, The cost wasn't horribly bad. I would take my cat there again in a heartbeat if necessary.

Extremely rude front office staff. Acting like I was inconveniencing them. I would not bring my pet here if that is how the veterinarians allow their staff to act. Visit on 7/28/23.

I called today with a prescription from another vet to fill here because my vet is far away. This is signed by a doctor. They are standard operating procedure is that the dog needs to be seen by their vet even though mine has been diagnosed and I had the scription in hand. Then I read the other reviews and glad I didn't go there . All about the money.

I give 2 stars only because the medical end was adequate. However, they are price gougers with their meds. Bigtime. I brought my cat in because of sores. They prescribed prednisolone, 20 count. They charged me $30.00 when I could have bought it online for $3.27. Same amount, same strength! I wondered why they didn't offer me the prescription, but just assumed I would buy it there. When I got home and checked online I was livid. And realized why the written prescription was never offered. The next day I called them, and pretty much got the run around. First she tells me "We can't compete with the big box stores, we're a small business", then later in the conversation she says "Well, corporate sets the price". You can't have it both ways. But the bottom line is they're price gouging on their meds. Make sure you get the written prescription, and save yourself a lot of money by purchasing online. Or better yet, don't go there. There are plenty of better vet hospitals in the area! I for one, will never set foot in a VCA animal hospital again.

My animals were patients here many years ago. I could go on and on about this place but won't. Let me just say , bring your pets elsewhere. The care when we were there was minimal at best . Can't say much about some of the docs and staff either.

CAUTION!! Do Not Board Your Pet Here, unless you want to pick them up having contracted Kennel Cough!!! I dropped my healthy German Shepherd off to be boarded over the week of June 5-12th. The Saturday of the 12th I picked him up he was hacking & coughing constantly and has a loss of appetite. After spending $350 on boarding, I would expect to pick my dog up in the same shape I left him. I will NEVER board him at this facility again! Neither will I return for any other vet services. I did speak with someone at the office & he tried to tell me it wasn't Kennel Cough and something has been going around to other dogs, well I guess it's going around at your Kennel!

So, let's start with the fact that I have booked my appointment with this animal clinic sometime 2 weeks ago, I called and was very specific with what I wanted done to my dogs. I wanted a genetic/DNA test and hip X-Ray done. They gave me the price which included the first visit checkup totaling 256 dollars. I go in last Monday I believe, the clinic is nice and clean the front desk ladies are super friendly and welcoming. Moving forward to being called to follow the vet tech or vet assistant to the room, he said only one of us can go with him so I went with him a little confused as to why can't me and my bf go in together. He asked me what brings me in today, I look at him confused as I specifically booked this appointment for tests and x-rays. So that there showed lack of communication between the staff, he goes on to ask me why do I want these tests done and I explain to him that I need them done because I am a breeder, he goes "oooooooh you breed them" his tone was so judgmental. He should keep his biased opinions to himself and at home where they belong. That there left a bad taste in my mouth... He then proceeds to ask me what do I feed them and I said that I cook for my dogs and I try not to give them as much bagged food as possible but mainly raw diet or natural diet, then he lectures me that I need to give them supplements to balance out their diet and I said I don't and that my main vet thinks I'm doing great with the diet they currently have. I do not need lectures on how to feed my dog when they obviously look very well kept and healthy and no diet is better than a raw and natural diet (this should be normalized). He then proceeded to tell me that the x-Ray is an additional 450 per dog. Which was something not discussed by phone as I thought that the full price I was given over the phone covered that. If I knew that x-rays were not included in the $256 I was told over the phone I wouldn't have wasted my time or gas coming to this clinic. I obviously pass on the x-Ray considering it's a ridiculous price per dog. And ordered the blood work... he takes one dog at a time to conduct a the physical checkup and blood work. Both dogs came back with nothing covering the injection wound. So I'm not sure which leg was used for blood draw. Vet comes back to the room and tells me that they only have one DNA/ genetic test kit. Which makes me wonder why not have 2 when you already knew I booked this appointment for these specific tests??! Very unprofessional!!! But moving along, he'll send one in today and the other the next day. I'll get over it. Then the vet said I'll go submit that kit and I'll be back. That was the last I've seen from this ver as he never came back and the vet tech/ assistant came back stating that we are ready to be checked out (pay). I was confused as I was expecting the vet to come back and discuss with me and my bf how the physical went and how the DNA/genetic test goes and what they will look for... but NO!! This is by far the most unprofessional veterinarian clinic I've taken my dogs to and I'll never go back here after this test kit is processed and done. I do not recommend any breeders to bring their dogs here since you'll have biased judgment passed on you by the vet tech/assistant. Look elsewhere for better prices and a professional vet that will discuss and do everything in front of you.

I have been bringing my dogs to Dr. Bean for over a year. She's been great. I really appreciate her manner of direct communication and her proactive recommendations. Lily at Top Dog Grooming has also been really good also. My issue is with the office staff. Trying to get through on the phone is a frustrating experience. Tried 3 times today unsuccessfully. This system needs to be improved.

Since I'm new to the area, I wanted to get my fur children established with a new doctor. Dr Bean and the team here at VCA are great. She offered a new solution for helping my slightly over fluffy cat moving to help him lose some weight. My old vet never made these suggestions and they seem to be working well. So far I'm impressed. They're great about following COVID guidelines too.

FYI: Expensive. We used Coral Vet in the past, as well as others. I always disliked that Coral Vet did not offer me choices, but rather gave our dogs every treatment, vaccine, etc., and charged me. The last time I took a dog there for an exam, I inquired about the pill they just popped under my dog's nose and was told it was for Bordatella. We never kenneled any of our animals nor had them where other animals congregated. I did not want him to have extra drugs, nor to pay for things I did not request. Jump forward, I price checked a neuter for a new pet - $400 at a vet I love, $900 at Coral Vet. They said I needed to "come in for a surgical consult" before they could give me a price, but I pressed them on the ridiculousness of that and got the estimate. Life is expensive enough. Beachside Animal Clinic, although on Sanibel, is wonderful, and very reasonably priced. I am a big fan of Dr. Mathusa. Without knowing who I was, he answered his cell phone at 7:30 AM on a Saturday morning of a holiday weekend (the number was on the office line message) and advised me on an urgent matter. For free. Our animals will always go there. Receptionist is super friendly and helpful, as well.

Almost 2 weeks ago we let our sweet Penny go. She had suffered with bone cancer on her leg for 5 months and did so with her cheerful being to the end. A big Thank You to VCA Coral Animal Hospital, Dr. Oyer and all the staff for helping us through the 5 months of monitoring her pain with the right medicines, always available to discuss her ongoing decline and decision making to the end. The words “you made the right decision“ helped more than we can say as well as the personalized card they sent to us. We miss our Penny every day and working on adjusting to not having our faithful loving companion and loyal member of our family. Thank You!

We have always seen Dr. Andazola and absolutely love him. However, we had to put our fur baby down recently and used Dr. Bean who was the nicest, most sympathetic doctor we could have possibly asked for. I love this clinic, staff and doctors. Thank you for letting us be present even though we were in the midst of COVID-19. Thank you for always treating us and our fur babies like family. Thank you for making Itty Bitty's transition over the rainbow bridge as painless and beautiful as possible considering the situation. Thank you.

I just left this practice after being taken the last two years! They set up what heart worm your pet wants, meds, etc and have it mailed directly to your house by another company at twice the price. After I figured that out I asked them to stop sending me the pills and I would need a new script to send in to the place where I was going to get my MUCH CHEAPER heart worm meds online and I never received one. The prices they are charging for services are sooooo over the top, I feel horrible that I put up with it for so long. I called several vets in the area after my neighbors couldn't believe I was going there at their pricing. Just an example of the difference between my new vet and them. Exam VCA $75 new vet $58 leptospirosis shot VCA $37.15 new vet $22 heart worm VCA $85.34 new vet $37!! Bordetella VCA $34 new vet $22. Last time I chose not to get the bordetella because we never board our dog. They will manipulate to make more money it's disgusting. And I called to have my dogs records transferred and told them about the price discrepancies and she ignored me and said I'll send the records and hung up! EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE ON TO THEM!! There are plenty of vets out there that are amazing and don't price gouge the crap out of you. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Just received your response....I have nothing to say to you. You didn't answer nor acknowledge anything I made reference too. I'm not the only person to complain about you padding the prices of medication and charging astronomical rates. The only thing I'm mad about is not looking into it in the first place!

I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful, caring, and empathetic the staff is at VCA Coral. I had been taking my basset hound Madge there for about 4 years. I just recently had to put her down a few weeks ago after a long illness. She was just a few days shy of 14! I have had only exceptional service at Coral and have always felt like I was treated like family. Upon walking in the door I was promptly greeted with a smile and the front office always took time to say hi to Madge.
