Our 5 pound hybrid breed was brought in by my daughter for ear inflammation (no open wounds nor oozing etc.) and a heart worm test. The vet thought it was necessary to give her an injection plus "pack her ear with medication" and send her home with additional treatment. They charged $360 (and the vet tried to add an additional oral medication as my daughter was checking out). When I called and expressed my deep disappointment for the cost to helpalleviate ear inflammation, the woman retorted 'you gave your daughter permission to accept the medication.' My response is as follows: I gave her permission to accept reasonable treatment but not permission to be taken advantage of.I understand that serious medical needs render higher prices. However, treating a 5 pound dog for ear inflammation should not result in $360. *Over treating to make a higher profit very well may be the case here.* After placing her in her pet home to avoid her rubbing the ear ointment on rugs and furniture, she vomitted quite a bit! When I called to let the nurse know I would be returning the additional topical medication, they placed me on hold and never got back to me. I am so glad my daughter did not accept the oral medication even on top of all this. Would my dog even be alive right now if she had?

The staff at Varandah is exceptional , I have never experienced so much care and professionalism. My cat of 23 years took a turn and it was her time. And our time to say goodbye.? and I would not have expected so much care not only to me and my wife, durring this difficult situation , but the gentleness that was showed to feline family member! Thank you Verandah Hospital , to the Dr. And the assistant whom I never got your name considering the situation! To the front desk that took my desperate call and got me in so promptly on last minute, when all others turned me away. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, the love and care that was showed to my Freda baby before and after she crossed the rainbow Bridge thank you all so much!!! ❤️

The office and support staff are excellent. I was not encouraged by the stand in Veterinarian but I understand the need for that.

I hadn't any idea that this vet office has now gone corporate. Our Vet Doug retired and apparently sold the practice, but they kept the name, unbeknownst to many of the clients. I will be seeking other vet services. I want a small time vet, not a corporate organization!

I had a great experience at this vet. They are quick and efficient when it comes to normal check-ups and exams, but they also have a very quick response when it comes to emergency visits. This is not a 24/7 vet, so they don't have anybody that stays overnight if you leave your pet there, but they will refer you to a 24/7 referral center and vet that will care for them if you chose the option. They are really caring to the pets and make sure that they are safe. The environment is clean and welcoming and the staff is friendly.

Wow! Amazing staff where your pets are treated like family! Dr. Piper and his team saved our one dog from a brutal attack, and we will always be grateful. He has been taking care of our other pups for almost 2 decades, and we would trust him with our lives! Dr. Piper is the BEST!

Found a stray dog Christmas night. Was too cold for the little guy to be out so took him in. Next day we were able to take him in, get him scanned and get him reunited with his owner.

My wife and I have taken our pets to Verandah for about 4 years now. I can say without hesitation that Dr Pressley is the greatest. She was able to detect possible cancer in our American Bulldog after another vet had completely missied it. Her understanding, compassion and love of animals was obvious when the day came we had to say good-bye to Hilly. We have since entrusted Clara and her goofy brother Dulac to her care. Moving to Louisiana soon, we took Clara for one last checkup this week. We are cr=ertainly going to miss her and the excellent staff, and can only hope we gind her equal in Louisiana. I would highhly recommend Verandah

We have been using Verandah for a few months for treatment of our younger pet with great results. I never thought of a pet hospital as a source of after life care. While out of town, our oldest pet passed away. We asked if they could handle the remains for us and it was not an issue. Today we received back the remains in such a wonderful fashion. Verandah Pet Hospital will always remain as our primary care for our pets. Thank you all.
