We had a horrible experience towed a load out of our way they said was on the way paid way to much in gas to tow ran out of money due to being out of the way along with costing more in gas U-Haul broke down on hwy ramp got stuck in Virginia all of it
Was just bad and still haven’t received the 800 they said we would get for dropping off the load in West Virginia

I have used U-Haul for years for truck rentals, my most recent move was no different. This time I did need a storage facility for a few months while I got settled down in my new house. I specifically chose U-Haul this time because the first month at their storage units is free when you rent a truck. I reserved a 10 x 15 climate controlled storage unit and when I got the the facility to check in yesterday I was informed that they had no 10 x 15 units available because the one I reserved had not been vacated yet. I understand people are unpredictable but they had well over a month to let me know that the unit wouldn’t be available. Their solution was to instead get my two smaller side by side units that were more expensive with no discount and “throw in two locks for the inconvenience “. Fine, except when I went to open the unit which was supposed to be climate controlled it was hot and humid inside, smelled like human pee, and had two large completely full bug poison traps inside. I have thousands of dollars worth of books, papers, etc that were needing to be stored as well as furniture and pet items, I wouldn’t even store my garbage there! The general manager was very rude and the employee that was “helping” us after she left the building before the issue was resolved kept going and talking to other employees, leaving his desk, etc making the process last twice as long as it probably should have. I’ve been on the phone with U-Haul corporate all morning and the only thing they’re doing is refunding my reservation fee which I didn’t even see on my contract. Not to mention the price of everything including the truck continued to get more expensive as time went on for absolutely no reason except for new fees that was not informed of. This is absolutely no way to treat a paying customer, especially a loyal one, and ESPECIALLY in a business like this where you’re customers are already stressed due to moving and driving to their new home. I will absolutely never be using U-Haul again especially if their facilities are infested with bugs and I’m going to have to assume rats as well. Do better.

Make sure that you give a raise to both the young lady and gentleman working the desk who checked me in and out. Going lady is an amazing asset to your company, extremely customer service oriented. Gentleman was overly professional but polite and personable. They both were helpful and offered assistance with needs and were very patient even though I had an issue with my card at first. I think this location has an amazing mix of experienced staff who want to help people and I thank you for finding good people who know their job!

Please avoid Jim P. My experience with him was highly unsatisfactory. While trying to upgrade my towing equipment with my 11-year-old daughter, Jim P. displayed aggressive behavior, causing her distress and concern for our safety. A helpful assistant manager intervened as the situation escalated. Despite the manager’s efforts, Jim P. refused to assist in locating the necessary part and instead attempted to sell me an expensive $600 US D, unnecessary item, rather than the $145 item I needed. This experience was disappointing and troubling. Just bought it a Ace for $120 a few blocks away !

Save your time and your money!! I have been trying to resolve THEIR error for one week now. I was overcharged for the truck. And now I am double charge for my storage unit. The “ Manager” is either not there or not available and does not return calls or reply to emails. The corporate office has been helpless as well. This is beyond frustrating. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

AVOID THIS LOCATION! Scheduled a truck for my move and on moving day I show up at my pick up time and these folks behind the counter told me sorry we don't have any trucks, and reservations don't actually mean anything. One kid behind the counter had no idea how to use the computer and took forever just to tell me I could go pick up another truck he found me in SEBASTIÁN....... 3 folks working may have had 3 brain cells between them. Immediately called customer service and eventually was given a new truck at another location 3 miles down the road which I was able to pick up using the app and avoiding any more incompetent people. Thankfully the rest of the day went off without issue and I was able to move. If I listened to these morons I would have been screwed. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. Better yet, hire a reputable moving company and relax knowing what you need will get taken care of.

I arrived a few minutes after 7 to return the truck. Full staff was inside, and instead of taking the few minutes to help us check out, they locked the door in my face and refused to help. All of which ended up costing me $20 more.

Everything that could have gone wrong using this UHAUL location did go wrong. Both the hitch installation and moving experience were a complete nightmare. However, I am giving five stars here because Irma took ownership of the situation and helped me until my move was complete. She gave me her personal number, and even when not at work, she took care of some issues, which she didn’t have to do. But that’s how dedicated she is. I have never seen someone work as hard as she does and with such excellent customer service skills in any business. If she ever leaves this location might as well shut it down, because there’s no way this store could run without her. I hope UHAUL is aware of the exemplary employee they have and treat her accordingly. Thank you Irma.
