We just adopted our 3 month old kitten Peppermint through Alaqua animal refuge and had an amazing experience!
The refuge is beautiful and spacious with multiple areas for a variety of animals
The kitten/cat adoption area is made up of several beautiful barns/shacks that are fully decked out with kitten beds, toys and enclosed play areas. We met peppermint and fell in love with her friendly and calm demeanor!
The adoption process was smooth, we were approved and were able to take her home with us same day.
Lizzy, Ted and several other staff members were extremely helpful and kind - highly recommend this refuge for anyone looking for a lovely place to adopt.

My daughter’s 1st birthday party was a wonderful experience here! Matt was very helpful and knowledgeable about the animals and great with kids! It was amazing to see all the animals and watch my daughter’s facial expressions with the cows and other animals on the property. Thank you to everyone to assisted us with this party - I would recommend this to anyone!

I was just at my nephews house and we were entertained by 6 cats( all rescued) that were in his house. More were hiding and outside. Then your Alaqua Animal Refuge popped up. I thought it was his refuge at that point. He really spoils his cats.

We received overseas orders and I needed to find homes for 10 finches. Only breeders wanted them and they were all siblings so that wasn’t acceptable. My spouse learned about Alaqua. We checked out the facility on line and in person and found it to be clean and staffed with people who understood my concerns. I was told they check prospective pet parents before letting them adopt. The animals appeared well cared for and I believe I made a good decision to leave my birds with Alaqua to find homes for them.

Absolutely amazing. The place was gorgeous. The staff was so nice. The adoption process was an easy breeze. We came close to closing time and they still made us feel welcome! Happy to have a fur baby in his forever home. Thank you guys for being amazing!

Beautiful, amazing animal refuge. Peaceful and tranquil setting where every guest is treated like a king or queen! So wonderful to see abandoned and abused animals receiving the love and care they deserve.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! What they do for these animals is truly so amazing, it warms my heart every time we visit. Not only is it maintained extremely well, the volunteers and staff are always so welcoming and informative, you can tell they care about these animals like they are their own. Highly recommend them to anyone looking to adopt an animal or even just visit for the day!
